Hello I have a question, i changed the plate in the transmission 722.6 and I bought a icarsoft scanner and the adapter, yes it took it outa limp mode and it's changing gears smooth, but the check engine transmission code keeps coming back, what do you think??
I have the iCarsoft MB 2.0 as well. Very good. It doesn’t code. But I’m going to try the Launch elite and see how it goes I swapped a 3.2 in my C240 6speed. I have some cluster issues mileage and key fob unlocking and locking I’m going see if the launch will help.

What issues were you having? I also have a 02 s430 stuck in limp mode after going through the car wash. Replaced tcu but still stuck in limp mode. P0730 code incorrect gear ratio. Shows gears on dash. Drives but stuck in limp mode.
@@coldchill3695 I was getting a p0705 code with intermittent stuck in limp mode. Sometimes the gear would get stuck. Turning off the car and turning it back on would fix the stuck gear issue.
@gangalee83 Yea that code as well. Not currently because I cleared the codes so only one is p0730 right now. Im sure it will come right back though. Appreciate the prompt response bro. Think aim replacing conductor plate tomorrow. Also, im assuming you used the same solenoids or did you replace those as well
@Mechani_Cole yea...the mechanic i took it to seems to think the opposite and quoted me 4 hours of labor to replace it. After watching your video...that's bs..4 hours. So I will do it myself. Thanks for the video and response.

your problem was most likely the speed sensor circuit on the conductor plate, that’s what mine was, and that’s the most common issue with em, it’s the floppy pice that doesn’t have plastic connecting it to the rest of the board
I read your list of parts needed, but i didn't see the bolts / screws for the Trans body , aren't they supposed to be changed with S/S bolts / screws ?

@Mechani_Cole thanks bud. I've watched all your videos on this car and has helped a bunch, including the motor mounts. One thing my car has a problem with is the instrument cluster. The needles bounce all over. Rpm and mph all flicker on and off, thus the needle bouncing. The gas needle never has a problem. Think maybe replace instrument cluster or deeper problem?
Sigh. 2002 Mercedes c320. I have 375K miles! Now transmission is starting to slip and I have a 730 code. Sadly, I know the shop will charge me more than the car to get it fixed. Any initial thoughts or ideas?

Hi @dcm21991 are you using the 38 pin connector port? Along with the car being in "on" position. That's one click from starting. If still getting same error, then try updating your scanner and see if that works. Also, on the screen, don't click OBD. You have to click Diagnostic. Then select your EXACT model, then go to the transmission control unit screen. From there you can delete it.
@@Mechani_Cole Yes sir, I have the 38 pin adapter that you recommended. When I got it it had no cars so I had to update it to the latest version 34.80. I found my car c202 - as of 06/97 c280. Pretty much fails when I click on anything there. If I do the OB/scan it works but like you said you don't really clear that.

@user-tp7ys7pp5v limp mode sucks the older you get too🥲😅 But for real, I keep a scanner in my Mercedes and Audi just in case it ever decides to go into limp mode. More often then not, you can reset the computer and get home at least

No programming needed as far as I know. But you do need the correct scanner to be able to access the transmission control module for the reset to get to rid of the code and get it out of limp mode.

I just ordered the new 2025 launch creader elite scan tool that says it has full system control and is bidirectional does coding etc.. is 1 you tried by chance that didn't work? I hope not or I'll have a return i guess
@Mechani_Cole i don't have that adapter i was just gonna use it on the obdII port under the dash my car is a 2000 clk430, it's stuck in park with a no crank but starts if I jump the starter relay and runs great. But when I drove it only 2nd gear was working so obviously limp mode. It's a nice car for the 800 I got it for with 157,000 on it so like you im trying to fix it up for a nice cheap daily driver.

Honestly you'd be spending the same/more to have a shop reset the codes for you, so even using that scanner this one time already pays for itself! I've been meaning to buy one myself, but for now I'll just annoy my friends to borrow theirs lol
I have P0741 code on my gearbox oil was really bad so i change it now looks better but do i need also to change this plate, because torque converter is fine gearbox is shifting smoothly no weird noise no nothing so i don't know what the issue can be

I did the same replacement and my 2000 c280 and it’s still in limp mode. I bought a different Mercedes diagnostics reader to clear the TCM codes and it had every Mercedes listed as a car option but my 2000 C280 will that reader have the 2000 c280 as an option? I couldn’t even get to the part where I read the tcm because my car wasn’t listed please help!!!
It look a little less than a full container. If yours is full at full operating temperature then you can drain some out until you reach the correct level.
Yes. You HAVE to reset it with a proper scanner through the box under the hood with the 38 pin connector. You can not just change the part and have it be fixed. The computer must be able to access the TCU module to send the command
Yeah, most likely. As long as you have the correct computer to reset the codes after. A regular scanner doesn't work. On the valve body (in your transmission) you will find a plastic plate, which carries the input and output speed sensors. This plate is known to crack around the input speed sensor. Hence your problem and the lock down in second gear. The repair for this means removing the tranny fluid/oil pan/filter/valve body and lastly the electronics plate. Then replace the plate, and refit all other parts. Hope this gives you a starting point🫡
Took me about 2-3 hours max, but I was taking my time and taking breaks. The fluid depends on how much comes out. But either way, have to adjust the fluid level according to the dipstick. Hard to say an exact amount on transmissions

Right. So the whole conductor plate gets replaced. I've done about a dozen of em now

Always try a reset first, sometimes it works if you have the proper scan tool. Then if that doesn't work, more work is needed

If the bolt is out, you can pry it with a screw driver. If it breaks, it's OK because you have a new one

@juanflores2449 are you using the 38-pin connector? It won't work without that part to access the TCU. So it won't shift until it gets reset properly
Are they the same solenoids for this as 2007 c220 722.6 w204 mate? Also did that control board throw a code ?
The 2007 is a little bit newer. So it requires coding to the vehicle

Either way, you need the proper scanner and adapter to reset the code. It won't reset on its own
Just ordering the same one you put in your description off Amazon but it’s V3 and Mercedes is not on it. Just Jaguar and landrover.
They sent me the wrong one as well the first time. Reach out to them on Amazon and they should make it right

Might not be selecting the right model of using iCarsoft. It will say no communication if the wrong model is chosen

Good question! Double check for bad fuses or loose pins. Can check the pins with a small tack or something to see if they are grabbing

I'd use the scanner I have linked in the video description. I still use this scanner all the time, works great for these years
How much fluid did it actually take? I drained mine and refilled it with 1 container and it shows overfilled.

My reverse lights dont work is there a switch in here ? im stuck in low gear also the car is a 2000 with a 1999 filter and brown fluid
Check fuses or bulbs first if both aren't working. Will need to do a reset after the repair to get it out of Limp Mode

Did you try the Icarsoft through the inside port ?
Yes. TCU can't be accessed through the OBD port inside though.

Under the hood there is a 38 pin connector to hook up an obd scanner to that connector. You need the adapter listed in the description
