Another Benz saved to continue on with life on the road those are great cars they will outlive you if you take care of them. Happy to see you are doing great work and we learn from you, Mike. Keep it up Benz Doctor😅😅
I bought an '87 300SDL a while back with 200K on it. After it passed 250K I told my young daughters it went far enough to go to the moon. I finally sold it with 320K or so on it. My daughters were disappointed. They said "how will you get back from the moon?". 8) Love the channel, keep up the good work!
Yea MR Mike! Who’s better then you? Will you replace the windshield yourself? I do believe you have the skills to do it yourself. Happy New Year & Peace, my friend… DrRick
The "Think Car" machine certainly takes the guesswork out of having to pull everything out, hoping to find whatever is wrong with the car. Happy New Year Mike and Bella sends a sniff and a lick to Lola..
That Scan tool is a good tool to have But one more thing is that your Mercedes needs a new windshield because there's a crack across the bottom of your windshield.😊
Nice to see you getting you're tool out again Mike 😂 honestly an enjoyable post old chap and another small step closer to the Rolls. Laters chuckles Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧
It would be interesting to know something about the maintenance this car received through the years. I am basically a believer in maintenance schedules that are adhered to for long periods of time. Here in the northeast rust is the great enemy but neglect will kill any machine. There is a lot of talk about how much better Mercedes was before it stopped making "generational" cars...cars intended to last from one generation to another in 1991. If this is the first time that transmission TCM has needed any service it speaks well not only of the engineering that went into the design but the maintenance the car has had the elves hatched it in the Black Forest. Perhaps, just perhaps, the make them as good as they used to.
No they’re not. Mercedes used to be expensive because they used very high quality parts. That, combined with extensive engineering, is what made them so reliable. They were intentionally built for durability. Back then they only adopted state of the art technology if it provided a benefit. That’s why a 1980’s 560SEL had antilock brakes and a driver’s airbag yet the driver’s side mirror was manual. Now you’re paying a premium for perfume dispensers, ambient lights, and a Mercedes logo that lights up on the grill.
Hey Mike! I have the 96 e300 that sparatically goes into limp mode after 30 minutes or so of driving. Doesnt start up in limp mode. I already got a conductor plate kit on its way but I was wondering if you had any insight on why my car only goes into limp mode when warm? Thank you by the way this video really helped!
Hello Mike. I’ve become a huge fan of your channel and I enjoy your content. Mercedes has really grown on me through the years. I’ve never owned one, though. I’m a bit partial to the 86 Mercedes 300sdl. I had a good coworker who owned one. He bragged about it. I rode in it a few times and there you have it. 👍🏼 I currently own a 2006 GMC Sierra. It’s super clean and only has 152K miles on it and its 5.3. I’ve been considering a diagnostic tool like yours. I can use it for my truck? Happy New Year!!
Keep up the Mercedes content! This is great and exactly what I needed to know... I have bought 2 Mercedes since watching your videos and even got the nerve up to do my own conductor plate issue... but I still have a problem and I think I have an issue with a solenoid... :( I cant quite afford the scanner but may have to redo my conductor plate with some new solenoids. I see both New and rebuilt? Any words of advice?? Thanks Mike!
I have a 730 incorrect gear rationcode on a 2002 C320 with 375K miles and transmission is slipping. The cost of repair may be more than car even though I want her to live. Any thoughts?
Bien hecho !! Im fixing a C320 at the moment with 245,000miles on the clock. Im worried i might not sell it as its too high mileage ?? But you still think u can sell a car with 315,000miles no probs ??
Hi I have a e320cdi and it won't drive in any gear. Apparently the conductor plate was replaced is there anything else I could check that it could possibly be
Check the transmission computer. It’s probably full of tranny fluid. If so, drain, clean, reinstall and put on a new electrical connector plug on the tranny pan. Good luck

Good Job Mike your getting better and better at fixing the Benz's 👍
we love how you explain everything , you make it looks very easy.
Lol Mike, I recently bought an 02 E320 4matic for $700 and it had the same issue. $300 later it’s up and running! 210,500 miles with 0 issues!!!
Yea MR Mike! Who’s better then you? Will you replace the windshield yourself? I do believe you have the skills to do it yourself. Happy New Year & Peace, my friend… DrRick
Mike love your videos I’m a Mercedes enthusiast as well learn a lot from you and your videos… Thank you Sir!!!!
Man that skyline in your backyard is cool at night.
I know, right? I think I would just sit out there all night and just look at it.
Heck I thought you were going to clear codes NOPE you went all the way and replaced the part .I hear ya 👍way to go Mike 👌
Mike ! Another MB fix it video 💥Lola stole the show.
That's a good tool .snap-on tools has one just like that and that one is probably half the price
Happy Saturday Mike
Hi Mike, I had E200, in 3 years i changed only fuel pump as a part. Oil and oil filter change and gas station was only thing I needed.
One thing about that merc is it hasnt been down any dirt Rds it's really clean for the yr.
Add another comment on the merc this is Oklahoma and not being driven on Oklahoma dirt roads.
Been seeing some good things about that scan tool. Good fix on the Benz.
Nice work Mike you saved another one!!!!
Happy Saturday and pretty excited about this morning and new on channel
Great useful information. As always, thanks Mike for including Lola!
I would have kept the diesel one and punted this one down the road. Happy Saturday Mike
This is being punted too!
The "Think Car" machine certainly takes the guesswork out of having to pull everything out, hoping to find whatever is wrong with the car. Happy New Year Mike and Bella sends a sniff and a lick to Lola..
The e class was always my favorite model!
Awesome job Mike! Thank goodness you didn't have to code the new conductor plate like what's required on newer Mercedes!
Great work once again Mike. Impressed as always with videos!
Hey buddy hope you are warm an safe out there good luck see you soon
That’s a nice view of the city mike in ur back yard 👍🏾
Great Job Mike!
I’m looking at this scanner and really close to buying one… nice fix mike
Another great one, Mike!
That Scan tool is a good tool to have But one more thing is that your Mercedes needs a new windshield because there's a crack across the bottom of your windshield.😊
Yeah…
Give it a good road test! Will it make the trip to Ok City and back with no issues?
Great video, learned something new Mike.👍👍

You are the master
Wow! You are smart. Thank you.
Conductor plate failed on my W210 E55 conductor plate at 99k miles. Same errors as you.
New transmission solenoids aren't expensive.

Do I have to have a Mercedes’ computer to program a new conductor plate
nice job , Mike . Thinktool can that work also for Europe ? Because in the USA is 110 volt and we have 220 volt ? Happy New-Year
Yes, they do include European adapters
@@MonkeyWrenchMike , thanks man
Good stuff Mike!
Nice job, Mike!
did u have to program the new conductor plate ?
Say i replaced ecm bought one on ebay got it flashed and turned on runs but now its like only going no more than 30 mh
Confused as 2 y the MB needed the 38 pin to talk to Think Pad. The standard OBD port would not work?? Thx
What’s the price on the scanner
Where can I buy one
Cool 🥰
I have a 2005 clk500 and it went into limp mode 115000 miles on it.
I worked on my s320 yesterday change conductor plate socket and filter now car wont move at all
Fluid type?
Job well done
If you change the whole unit do u really need mercedes to program it to your car?
If it has indicators in the mirrors, it is a facelift version, so it cannot be a 1997 version.
Yes, I corrected myself later in the video
Bien hecho !! Im fixing a C320 at the moment with 245,000miles on the clock. Im worried i might not sell it as its too high mileage ?? But you still think u can sell a car with 315,000miles no probs ??
Yup!
Mike, this tool already has a $150 discount. do we get additional $100 off?? thanks
Just the amount of the coupon on the page. So $150 now!
Lola's chauffeur 😂
Man this is so common. I have done a few successfully myself. Did you ever determine anything on the e300
I thought you sold this car? or did you have 2 of theses E300 MB? I know the one you were selling was the Diese(L) model.
I think I have the smaller think obd tool
Haven't seen you in a year
Mike, do you still have Legend? Haven’t seen him or heard you mention him in any videos lately.
Good luck
@@MonkeyWrenchMike do you know what or where on the transmission that is located?
