    This is seriously the BEST. Thank you! I'm LOVIN my new signature! I wanted to just note incase anyone else has this issue that for some wonky reason when I used the slice tool it said there was say "5 slices" but it actually did 6 slices when it was exported. I ended up uploading that extra random "slice/image" because I thought it would mess things up if not. But it actually misaligned everything when I sent the emails out. I simply went back and deleted it and all was find and dandy!

    But I have a question, I would like to know what were the dimensions you used for the signature, so that the images kept the same dimensions when uploaded and did not enlarge when sent.

    Thank you Mariah, You are great! So concise and strait to the point! In my case it works perfectly, just struggled a bit with the dimensions. Actually, the entire design suppose not to be bigger then 300px x 300px and then it works just perfectly, keeping the original size of the embedded coded images.

      Yes Mariah, would appreciate you actually going through the specifics of how to use the tools and how to save. Going through these basic steps makes this more accessible for someone not super familiar with these platforms and prevents frustration and runaround to try and figure out elsewhere. Otherwise an excellent tutorial, and love your teaching style - would watch even more if there were more specifics (including how to design within illustrator!).

    Hi Mariah...I agree with the others...that was the best tutorial. Thank you.I've been asked to create an interactive email signature for someone else to upload to their own account. How do I do this without having access to their account? If I could create the signature in Illustrator for them to upload, that would be great but I suspect, not doable. Do you know how I would do this? Many thanks. Sarah

    • @Mariah_Althoff
      @Mariah_Althoff  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sarah! I'm so glad it was helpful!!
      As for making one for someone else, what I've done is I'll set it up their signature in the backend of my gmail account as if it's my own. Then instead of saving over my current one, I'll highlight the new one, copy it and then paste it into a new email and send it to my client. This keeps the links intact and allows them to then just copy and paste it into their own email signature.
      I hope this helps!!

    I'm having no luck with this. I'm slicing perfectly and in a minimalistic way but my image has gaps in it that have no reason to be there. I think it's because I'm working with a black background and yours is white, so we're just not seeing how your image isn't being put together either?
    I've litterally done every single thing you've said in the video and comments and getting nowhere.

    I think it is very long to create email signature in Photoshop. Also, all other links in the email signature won't work except social icons. So the best way of creating email signatures are different software like NEWOLDSTAMP. The NEWOLDSTAMP email signature generator allows you to create a consistent HTML email signature without coding skills, involving an IT department or third-party developers and designers.

    I was trying to do this with Photoshop and ran into an issue. When you design the sig as 1 document and then save off the individual elements IE: bugs. when you import the URL from Postimage they will not overlap and will not allow you to stay to the original design. No overlap with transparency in essence. Then obviously when you do it all as 1 png, you don't have the option to select the items individually to add the links.

  • @lbeenites

    Hey guys, just to let you all know, if you design your signature on illustrator and want to have it on gmail there is a easier way to do it. First, you gotta create a google doc and insert a table with rows and collumns on it. Export the pieces you want in .png format and insert inside the rows/collumns. Just work it out and try it on gmail to see if fits, keep editing untill you satisfied. After you all done, just color the borders white, copy and paste on gmail! 😎

    My signature has an image that takes up the left side. When I split the signature in Illustrator, I either have to split it so that the image is sliced at the bottom - which in Gmail creates a gap in that part of the image. Otherwise, I have to split the image into its own slice - which doesn't work because I can't stack my links next to the image, I can only place one thing to the right of it.
    Is there any way I can get around this?
