Interesting switch. I needed a quiet but not silent switch to tone down my super loud Monsgeek MG108W and these did the job admirably. I would even take this to work. I do wish the spring were a bit lighter as I do have to type with intent to bottom out the switch and achieve the "thock". If I hit a key softly like I do with non-alphabet keys, I usually don't bottom out the switch then it is completely silent. It would be interesting to see this half thock concept in a light linear switch.
I've been using U4 in my daily driver keyboard for a year but I did replace the 68 gram springs with 65 progressive longer springs from Gazzew and the combination has been really sweet (not too heavy or light while the longer spring provides stronger tactile bump). I wonder if the 65 gram springs in the U4Tx are regular or progressive springs?
I think this is Gazzew's version of the JWICK Semi Silents. Same dampened upstroke, but retains a normal bottom out, and they both have dustproof stems too. I don't know how I feel about dustproof stems though. Can't tell if it's an incoming trend or a normal feature for future switches.
I'd have to check those out then!
Nice vid
Is the bump similar to the U4 and/or U4T?
Bump is the same as U4T!
@@PrestonsThoughts no experience with the U4 then? Thanks!
Reviewed both!
can you review the Wuque Browns? Those sound so interesting to me.
Unfortunately they were not sent to me(even though I requested them 😅) they sent me the ones I've already reviewed though!
@@PrestonsThoughts unfortunate, seem to sound really nice and might give those a go as my first tactiles.
@@UTOOOOOOOY go for it!
I ordered a bunch for a customer. I absolutely recommend them. Smooth action, great bump.
Most of my stuff comes from Canada too... US vendors are always sold out
Yup unfortunately
We have not been sold out of U4tXs since they first came out.
ehhh it. sounds alright i like the u4t. better imo but idk
Whats keycaps are those? I really like them!
British racing green!
@@PrestonsThoughts GMK? Every clone I've found uses a really muted khaki instead of that lovely yellow.
Well these are khaki they are the NicePBT
@@PrestonsThoughts Thanks!
cool
Pog
it sound a little scrunchy or is my imagination ?
Usually the thockiest switches sacrifice smoothness for sound. Look at NK creams, scratchy as hell but sound miraculous
