Endgame Quality for $.35/switch: Wuque Studio WS switches review!

  • The WS switches from Wuque Studio perfectly encapsulate everything that's been awesome about the hobby in 2022: high quality at low prices. I'm seriously impressed at how flawless this series has been, and are like the soft, white fruit of the loom v-necks that you buy in a mega pack. You get home, open the pack and are astounded at how soft and silky they are. These switches are like the Pro Club, the Chuck Taylors, the Bic mechanical pencils with the added soft grip on them so you don't get finger callouses when your mom makes you write "I will not tell lies" 1000x after you tried to hide your progress report in the trash because you were too busy watching switch reviews on youtube instead of studying for your pre-algebra test. Solid switches at a low price; what more can you ask for?

    Brown = tactile
    Blue = clicky
    Black = heavier linear
    Yellow/Red = lighter linear
    but I want to see more tricolored switches like Azure Dragons, Blush linears, Moyu Studio Poseidon, Ashkeebs Auralite, KineticLabs Huskies, ZenClack Oooolong, and TKC Banana Split

    • @MakerMods
      @MakerMods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that’s hard only because not everyone owns the same boards, but also… Even with the same setup, room acoustics, desk surface, etc. all play such a big role in sound, not to mention microphones, signal chain, etc. that’s why I try at least to use the same board in all my sound tests, so you can at least compare the results to my other videos. I also tried out several mics and chose the configuration that I thought sounded closest to what my ears are hearing through my reference monitors, but then I watch on my TV and it sounds nothing like that. Haha! I guess… it’s important to take all sound tests with a huge grain of salt for that reason!

    • @MakerMods
      @MakerMods  ปีที่แล้ว

      In my mind, although there’s definitely not too much standardization of terms, tactiles can be subdivided into light, medium, and hyper? Haha. Light being something like a cherry Mx brown or kailh pro purple; medium being any holy panda, and hyper being switches with a large tactile bump/event like the boba u4t, zyko, etc. for reference, holy pandas when they were first made were considered “very” tactile, but companies have blown past that level of tactility with their stem and leaf designs. Also IMHO OG holy pandas are more tactile than the newer variants with BSUN pandas, but that could just me trying to rationalize that OG is better, haha! Hope this helps!

    You forgot in the history to mention the release of Kailh clickbars, the speed bronze and box white, and then the novelkeys thick click versions, the jade and navy everyone raves about. Can't talk about switch history and pretend clicky switches don't exist.

    can i using WS switches to outemu hotswap-socket?

    • @MakerMods
      @MakerMods  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're talking about the mill-max style sockets that came on the OG invyr pandas, for example, they fit just fine! I just tried it on a board I build with outemu mill max sockets :)

      @@MakerMods I know about the mill max socket type. it feels like it looks a bit different compared to the outemu socket.
      like the hole on the outemu socket looks smaller.
      see the display of two pins on the WS switch. they look the same as the pin switches on outemu, ajazz, akko and ktt.
      I want to try a few, two or three of the four available types. if anything fits according to my fingers. I think I want to take for 1 set of alphabet.

      I’ll be reviewing the WS silents soonTM, but I also really enjoyed the haimu heartbeat linears as they are virtually silent with no mush!

      @@MakerMods thanks, but what does silent mean? i compare to lubed gazzew bobagums.

      The haimu silent linears, if you check out my review, has a dB meter where I compared the sound level to other silents, and I checked them against the bobagums!

    Do these switches have keycap interference?

    • @MakerMods
      @MakerMods  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they have a standard travel based on my push test, so you would still see interference with north facing switches and cherry keycaps!
