Hey Dave, when you say “there are other offerings at the same price point and product class that are better”, it would be great for us watching, (and for your watch time) if you could provide links to your reviews of some of those other offerings. If not that, just giving a little list would be helpful too.

Eluktronics MAG 15, MAX 15. I don't think I've seen other thin and lights with those specs at that price. For $1600 (240Hz, RTX 2060 version) GS66 is a heck of a laptop, especially the battery. But this MSI just has a couple heat pipes on the CPU, they never learn

But the sound isn’t bad it’s just noticeable if I’m doing classwork without headphones

It was less than mediocre when compared to other laptops that were higher-spec'ed, with price tags that were $2,000-$3,000 less. This MSI laptop gets you a 10th gen Intel CPU and an RTX 2070 Max Q for that price??? I'd pay it, and I'm cheap, waited to get my 1060 6GB and i7-8750H when it was not only on sale but also refurbished, so I only paid like $970. From the looks of it, the GE66 Raider variant is a much better option for consumers to get then the GS66 Stealth as it has everything that the stealth has, but better placement of the ports on the machine. It's also gray and can mask finger prints better then the matte black look of the stealth that collects more visible finger prints. For being at around the same price as the stealth, it really seems like it's the better option to go with then the stealth. I hope tech reviewers like you can do a in-depth review on the MSI GE66 Raider as it would help to see if what I said previously of it being a better product then the Stealth is true or not, and tell people looking to get the Stealth or Raider which one they should go for.

I'm typically super hesitant about MSI, and was especially hesitant about 10th Gen vs AMD...but I just picked one of these up for 300 off at $1500 flat, 10th Gen 17, 2070 MQ (admittedly not sure if it's a Super or not), 16gb RAM, and a 1tb SSD with the 1080/240hz display, and it's definitely worth that price. The only thing that I saw that was better, was the brand new ROG with the Ryzen 9 and 3070 for $1800 but obviously that's going to be sold out. Everything else was 1200-1500, but had lower specs (i7 + 1660 or 2060, with only 512gb SSD).
Fans are loud, even on balanced, even just playing something basic like Sims 3, but it was a great buy so far. The only downside imo was the weird trackpad clicks. @@quillchii Oh, and the trackpad clicking is kinda weird. You can only click in the bottom corners, and you gotta click pretty deep. Tap-to-click is great though, it has good gestures, and good tracking. It's just clicking the actual buttons is kinda weird.

@@coleG112 Oh, thank you! Yeah, I’ve been looking into the ASUS Zephyrus G15 and it looks pretty good, but people have been complaining that it gets too hot near the display. Also the Acer Predator Helios 300 looks good.

@@quillchii They even have an ROG G15 (it might be M15? I don't remember) that comes with a Ryzen 9/3080/1tb ssd for the same price as the MSRP of this MSI with i7/2070/1tb ssd. Obviously that's wildy overkill for Sims, and it's probably not going to be in stock for months (a Ryzen AND a 30-series lol) but it's still a great deal.

i don't recommend buying msi laptop I've had 4 msi laptops till now including the last years msi gs65 stealth thin and all of them had same issues 1) They heat up alot.
    2) Weird noises coming from fan after 3-6 months (failed bearing).
    3) Steelseries keyboard lights stopped working working on 25% of buttons(only specific colors for each key).
    4) Battery degradation is very rapid.(i'm getting half the battery life after a year)

Hey! Thanks for reviewing the GS66! I had the GS65 and it was a blast, seeing that the design has been tone down a bit is a big plus for me!
I have an unrelated question though: What is the mouse that you are using at 7:08? I'm looking for a Wireless Mouse (I play League & Valorant mostly) it seems to me that it looks like a Glorious Mouse but I could be mistaken.

    dear MSI:
1)put the ports in the rear
2)replace the horrible keyboard font with something clear. D looks like O.
    3)put AMD Ryzen 4000 series APU+fast GPUs
4)provide 144hz IPS Full HD monitor.
keep the price around 1k. we will buy it.♥️😎

    Intel stocks: Left the chat
On a real-note, though Undervolting is the best thing you can do for a laptop(dropped my temps from 98 to 81 on i7 7700hq on all games) That's bs

Intel chips have survived for the last couple years off people being able to undervolt their faulty designs to get any performance out of them. If they take that away at the same time that AMD is finally playing in the big league with mobile processors, I can't see a single valid reason to not buy Ryzen.

True.....My Aero 15 with an i7-8750H, 6 Cores 12 Threads, Undervolted, with power limit boost.....Scores and maintains, a score of 3000-3050 on Cinebench R20..........Many of these 10th gen laptops with 8 Cores/16 Threads, due to overheating and not undervolting are scoring about the same (3000-3100) after a few runs........A good reason to wait for 11th gen or go AMD.
