I actually had a similar line of thought. And then I realized, I have shelled out $800 for a phone before on the grounds that I get tons of use out of it and it’s a device I “need”. I don’t really hem and haw over spending so much on a phone because I know I want and “need” the better quality and general longevity. Now I’m spending a bit more on everything for the same reasons I do on my phone - more capable, usage experience, greater longevity (i.e. the quality of parts, as well as how long it will remain a capable computer as programs and things continue to expand and upgrade).

I don’t really hem and haw over spending so much on a phone because I know I want and “need” the better quality and general longevity. On the other hand, I realized that I cheaped out buying a $300 Lenovo laptop that I “needed” for work, as well as personal use (photo editing, a bit of gaming, and then work). Now I’m spending a bit more on everything for the same reasons I do on my phone - more capable, usage experience, greater longevity (i.e. the quality of parts, as well as how long it will remain a capable computer as programs and things continue to expand and upgrade).

@@peterpeter6488 Hi , so what did you do after ? i'm thinking of buying it should i ?
@@peterpeter6488 any updates bro???
@@shinigami6602 in case you don't already know, his laptop is now probably out of warranty and Dell won't repair it without asking for a ton of money. (there is a subreddit to solve the heating issues this laptop has, yes I own it too) its not a laptop you can use without extreme care about the heat, although once you solve the heat problem, its a powerhouse, it even has huge overclocking potential (requires custom cooling, can't be done by a simple user) and double the already great performance.
@@SalahEO I hope you haven't bought it already (I am a dell G5 SE user) this laptop requires you to attend to the overheating problem (there is a subreddit for controlling its heat, its name is r/dellg5se) if you have what it takes, this laptop will provide you with great gaming capabilities, but if you are just a normal user, do yourself a favour and buy something else.
Which one do you think will perform well (with the same amount of RAM, SSD, etc.):
- Dell G5 15 SE, or
- Asus TUF Gaming A15 TUF506IV-AS76
Let's have a Comparison Review..
👍👍👍
Based on reviews the Asus TUF A15 gets way too hot. The 90whr battery is nice but it has a bad screen and once again, the thermals seem to be poor.
@Dipanjan Mazumder Yes you are correct. I realized this too. Both laptops run hot so that sucks :/. Dave2D never goes in depth with thermal performance and I find that annoying too.
$870 is only 41k where I'm at but they're selling it at a price 2x-3x more higher than that lol.
Hi Dave, would you also recommend the ASUS TUF A15?
I'm torn if I should get this one or the asus.
Thank you.
imo the Asus because dell has a track record of buggy software
@@alenavass2 can you be more specific about that buggy software? every brand new dell products got a year of hardware warranty and free technical support on any issues including software. You can even get a free assistance if you are having issues on windows, they also support the drivers way too long even an almost a decade devices still get driver updates for windows 10, even though components such as chipset, NICs, GPU, etc. came from different individual manufacturers you can even get their ancient legacy computers bios updates intact on their website, things that you will have a hard time finding now a days on a different brands.
@@kurtsanches8819 Bad drivers, BSOD issues, BIOS bugs, etc. especially at launch
@@alenavass2 Asus has 144hz in the base model! And the stronger 4800h!
@@alenavass2 It could be a user issue, not the product itself, if you ask for support they will help you. Simple as
that. Operating system updates are provided by Microsoft not Dell, updates are being distributed to billions of devices having different specifications and internal components, it could happen to any product and any brand. It's not dell specific, dell itself has a topnotch support.
this guy should be the calmest and coolest guy i'hve evr come across on youtube
Well to be honest I've almost forgotten how my laptop looks from the outside :P But this one, if you're gonna get it anywhere out of the house, you'll have to skin it
Yeah. I would definitely use a skin with this one or at least a shit ton of stickers.
look up Dave's recommendations on Amazon india, convince you are poor and log out of Amazon
EXACTLY xD
Heck, you can't find anything as its not there in India.
It’s not even there.
Anybody knows if dell is gonna put this in indian market cuz Indian market really needs a cheap gaming laptop
@@akashsharda9993 even if it does sell in India, it would end up costing 90K to 1L
Before Watching : I was waiting for this video
After 30 seconds of watching : "WHY 800$$$ CHEAP??"
Dell seeing this video be like:"ayo we need this guy to sell our products"
Do you know where I can find more information about Dell updating the screen this summer to 120Hz? I can't find any information about it
I'm also very interested in this
You can click the chat option on the Dell website and a live representative can answer your question. I asked and supposedly the configuration is now a 120Hz but I’m still not 100% sure. Although, if the middle eastern dude said it I believe it.
Yeah its almost September now and still no 120Hz option, only 144Hz
@@Kenan-de7uv last I checked the laptop wasn't even available... It's just exhausting
