    Have you heard of the Nautical detailers EverSeal 1.0 ? Supposedly the charge 305 for a 25 ft boat and say it lasts 4 yrs ! You know and i know that any sealer that you use on Gel coat has to be prepared and that alone will cost more than $300 ,just doesn't sound right to me.
    Let me say that a lot these you tube detailers put out so many videos and when ask how much they got paid for the job they don't say or make an excuse ,but you sir are very open and telling .You sir and your lovely family are on my prayer list .Lord bless you.

      Wow! Thank you so much! I appreciate that! As for the Ever Seal I have never heard of it, sounds really cheap to last 4 years, and In the marine world nothing last 4 years haha

    Very informative thanks - is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser not too abrasive to use? I’m really surprised by that since I know it’s a highly abrasive cleaning product. I won’t even use them on my kitchen appliances because it will make them look dull. My understanding is that when the melamine resin in magic erasers gets wet its microstructure becomes hard and gritty like a super-fine sandpaper, which is why it removes dirt and stains but that also means it can also eat away at any top coatings or paint on a surface as well. I understand you’re only using it on the non-skid but it still makes me nervous. Interested to hear your thoughts. Really value your suggestions in this video - thanks!

    So my understanding is that there is no issue using an si02 coating over a polymer sealant?

      Correct. Sio2 provides good up keep of the polymere sealant

    I’m going to be new to boat ownership. Do you take this cleaning step after every use? And what about areas like inside battery box etc? What do you do in those areas to keep them clean and free of corrosives? This is a great video so thank you.

      @DrakesDetailing  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much! There’s no reason to go this in depth, after every single use, but I would definitely do this kind of cleaning at least every two weeks, especially if you’re in saltwater.

    Hi Drake. I just bought my first little old boat (I am in Canada) and it was all chalky and dull. I used your tips (wet sanding, rotary buffer, products, etc.) to make it shiny again (well, as shiny as a 1992 boat can get). Spent hours and hours working on it (elbow grease galore, not to mention the buffer experience - yikes!). It is looking much better now. Thanks for showing me how to maintain all my hard work. I love your videos and am always anxiously waiting for the next one!

    So much great info here, thanks for putting it together. What do you use on boat glass to clean? Will the Bead Maker work to coat it after it's clean? I have aftermarket carpet in my boat, what do you recommend to clean and how to apply (hose, brush, pressure washer, etc)? Thanks again.

    • @DrakesDetailing

      Hey bro! I’d it’s snap in carpet a pressure washer will work just fine. As for glass, try some shine supply glass polish! shinesupply.com/products/glass-polish?_pos=1&_sid=dc8c18957&_ss=r

    Our boat is on a lift all season and we rent the lift space from a neighbor so I don't have a hose to use readily. I keep 303 cleaner/microfiber cloth on board for interior and a big sponge and use lake water to wipe down the exterior while coving out as the kids play. What products can I use to clean & maintain since our boat in either on the lift or floating in the water that will keep it nice but safe for the watershed?

    Ok i have a question.. is SiO2 different than ceramic? I use that mckees Hydro Pearl but I also see they have a spray ceramic.. so do I wax the boat first and then can I apply SiO2 several times a year? I guess when do I use what and how much? I’m at fresh water boater and get to lake maybe 10 weekends a year

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To make this super simple, Ceramic Coating is great at stopping UV damage ( oxidation ). Sio2 is great at water beading and keeping the surface easy to clean. Even if you were to apply the ceramic coating, I Would still recommend you apply the sio2 every few months.

    If the boat is ceramic coated are these steps and products still your recommendations for maintaining the boat between details?

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, kinda! Wash boat with nautical one ceramic was and wax soap. It’s an Si02 soap! don’t use purple power or degreasers on the non skid. Only use dawn on the non skid.
      Degreaser will hurt the coating, dawn will not

    • @williamwatkinsjr.9714
      @williamwatkinsjr.9714 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! So, for maintaining a ceramic coated boat you recommend:
      🔥 Step 1 Wash!
      - Nautical One Ceramic Wash and Wax Soap
      - Wash Mitt
      - Wash Brush ( Floors Only if needed)
      - Dawn ( Floors Only if needed)
      - Magic Erasers
      🔥 Step 2 Protect Gel Coat, Paint and Non Skid!
      - Mckees 37 Hydro Peal
      🔥 Step 3 Dry!
      - Drying Towel
      🔥 Step 4 Metal, Compartments and Console!
      - Bead Maker ( isinglass, compartments, console)
      - Woody Wax ( For metal and Stainless)
      - Micro Fibers
      🔥 Step 5 Protect Seats!
      - 303 Vinyl Protectant
      - Micro Fibers

    I just found your videos a few days ago and have really enjoyed them. I have a 20 foot palm beach cc. The nonskid in it isn’t like most of the bigger more expensive boats it’s textured but not like in a raised pattern it’s more of a gritty feel. I never new about waxing or sealing the nonskid till just recently. And yes I was one to spray bleach on it to remove the stains so you can just imagine how dirty it gets and how hard it is to clean.
    Could you give me the list of things I would need to do to get it back like it should be?? It’s not chalky to the point that it rubs off on your hands or clothes but I know it’s got to be pretty bad. Having a professional do it is not something I can do so I’d really appreciate any help you can give. Thanks bud. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment! so to restore the shine to the non skid, you can use a rotary buffer with a white wool cutting pad. I'd use the wool pad with This amzn.to/3hyBHFf, follow it up with this on another wool pad amzn.to/2FKbMwQ then you can wax it with the jescar power lock or this stuff non skid sealer amzn.to/2FAHq09
      This will restore the shine and seal it back up. You can also top it off with hydro pearl

    • @DrakesDetailing

      A Hard Bristle Brush will work best! After you clean the non skid, you want to put some type of protectant down so the poop can't keep binding into the floors... you can seal your floors with jescer power lock, and then spray Mckees 37 hydro pearl on top of it like I did in this video!

    Great video but I am somehow getting drastically different results. Purchased all your recommendations including the hand sponge to wash the boat. Did exactly what you explained. It honestly looked better prior to washing it. I’m sure I am doing something wrong, as I can clearly see your results are amazing. I have a 2022 Yamaha 195s so there shouldn’t be any oxidation on it it looks like water spots running down the boat. Wish I could attach a photo. Any ideas?

    Problem....I put some of that blue toilet sanitizer into my head unit and thought it was 100% flushed down into the tank..it wasn't! I then went out and the blue stuff bounced out of the tank stained all of the internal walls. I can't seem to get it off the fiberglass with normal cleansers. What should I do?

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s just regular fiberglass walls, you can try a little bit of acetone. If that does not work then you may need to try some compound with a buffer. Or even some rubbing compound on a microfiber rag may work as well. I’d have to see it to really be able to tell you what to do. So, try some acetone on a white rag, or some rubbing compound on a rack and that may work.

    So purple power doesn’t strip wax on your non skid?

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it Will strip any wax and/or sealant that is applied to the gel coat. My reason for using is to strip the wax/sealant before you apply a new one.

    Wondering what you would use for winter storage on protecting the boat from mold / mildew?

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally have never had to deal with winter storage...
      Are you referring to mold and mildew occurring once it’s been winterized under a wrap or a cover?

    How do these products interact with a cover on the boat? Will they grow mold? What's your take on covers? Thanks!

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mold will occur with moisture, as long as you make sure the boat is completely dry you shouldn't get mold. I personally don't love covers, but a cover is better than letting your boat bake in the sun day in and day out.

    • @teranenrique
      @teranenrique 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DrakesDetailing thanks for the reply! I am in south florida - its impossible to keep it dry. Every morning theres so much dew the boat and cars always all wet. Would you recommend no cover in that case? Im getting some mold here and there and im scare it will become a big thing

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best case would be to get a over hang that the boat can sit under to keep the sun off of it. If that's a no go, I would try the cover and put a few of these in the boat amzn.to/381dtR7
