I came across an Ad of Facebook for Elite Card Grading. I love the look of their slabs/label. I sent 5 cards in to be grading and was very happy with them. I posted a video on my channel if you wanted to just check them out. I collect the cards for my personal collection and do not sell any. So as far as “re-sale value”. That doesn’t matter to me. :-) Great video though! I appreciate what you and angry weedle did!
I think BGS, CGC, AGS and PSA will be the only companies that are pretty relevant for the future of grading in general, with maybe AGS taking the lead because of their accurate AI grading that won’t be fooled by cross grading/ slab cracking resubmits.
Great video my dude. PSA does have the imagery feature. I bought a Shiny charizard v PSA 10 and when I looked up the barcode I saw the Charizard images they took at PSA. But I’m not too sure how to do it. Definitely prefer BGS and PSA for value. But I have a ton of cards I just want to get graded for me, good to know these options.
Awesome video! Since we mostly see Beckett and Psa it's very interesting to see some other companies! Still haven't graded any cards ourselves though xD
I’m really enjoying the conversation! One thing I think a lot of people don’t discuss, is the fact that no matter what service you use YOU are only buying another collectors OPINION! So, whose do you trust? This should be the key question! Also, I think the (sub grades) should be required by all to fully explain the final given grade! Because I’m certain only one grader grades a group of said cards! Unlike coin and currency grading is based on up to 5 different graders who don’t know what the others said then it’s given a final grade based on average of the different graders. Just my thoughts
I am new to buying graded cards. I heard about PSA is when dealing with PSA grades is, you could have pulled a card directly from a fresh pack. But if they grade the card, and the grader feels it is a Gem mint 10. And worth or sells for a lot of money, they hold the card until PSA gets more money for the card.
If after it’s graded the value is higher than the pay level you sent it at they will charge you at the appropriate level. I agree it sucks, they so it is so it is covered for insurance purposes
Hey so I am thinking on grading with psa my gold star celebrations umbreon and the one thing I'm worried about is if it won't get a 10. Is it worth it to send it in to get graded and I have been taking a good look at the card and it has no scratches and well centered and the corners and edges are perfect. Any advice would help. Thanks
I really like Dsg (Diamond Service Grading). I have a few slabs from them and I enjoy the transparency. For example if I get a 9 on a card I can scan my barcode and view the report. Which in my opinion holds more value it's like a carfax for my cards.
Yeah I was just messaging them, the website is being worked on right now and should be up next week. You can find them on Facebook and ask them questions there
I’ve heard DSG grades off both human eye and AI. Using AI specifically for the straight lines. I feel like that’s the way to go. Do any other companies use that tech?
I’m on the fence. As a Pokémon collector I don’t care for them right now, but I know a lot of sports collectors see them as a great company. I used Degree and they are pretty slabs but they grade VERY rough and I’ve got a lot of RIP Degree 0 for cards that could score PSA 1-3 maximum. I’m 100% cross grading the cards that will certainly grade higher. I’m likely cross grading to CGC so it’ll retain value for my personal collection
@@motomon9848 I also graded a NM card that was easily a 8-9 and it scored 4 because of a “dent” on the card. I used a jeweler’s eye glass and found 0% damage on the surface so I had a friend look at it and he said there’s a very small dent on the edge and I could barely see it even then. So it should have been an edge grade but they knocked me down those -4 points because it was considered a dent and not edge wear so that was stupid also. I’m cross grading that card because I know it’ll be a 7 at the least since it scored 2/3, 3/3 and 3/3. That was my last straw so I’m no longer grading with Degree.
