Let's be real here. PSA labels are old and lack detailed information, their slabs feel cheap compared to the others, and their grading is inconsistent. If the situation was reversed and they were one of the new grading companies coming into the market right now, they would be laughed at and largely ignored.
Have cards out at both BGS and CGC at the moment and plenty of PSA cards in my collection. I feel PSA’s consistency has been fairly poor for a while. Giving cards with whitening 10’s the cards which look perfect 8’s and 9’s. Their lack of consistency is also why people crack the slabs to resubmit for hopes of better grades.
I honestly would put CGC above BGS, their slabs are just so much better with the feel and look in person. Also I don’t know how BGS can get away with having a website that looks like it hasn’t been updated in centuries
Placing submissions with bgs is a nightmare too
All the power to people who want to grade with Ace, but he lost my interest and potential business the moment he couldn't directly answer the question of whether he'd use Ace for his own cards. I think that speaks volumes and should be concern for anyone who was thinking of sending them high value cards.

Get Graded is a meme here in the UK. Nobody would send any card of value to them.
id say another pro for CGC is they grade tons of errors and other things like that while labeling what it is
Great list! I think one thing you missed with PSA cons is the amount of cards they’re damaging right now. Cases all over the place of people getting their cards back beat up

I had 2 of my charizards from champion’s path come back as 10’s with glue stuck on the back of the cards. Sent in a damage review and all they did was reholder them… which didn’t fix the problem.
@@yimleej4385 same. Two of my PSA 10s had giant white knicks on the edges which obviously I didn’t do and wasn’t there before they were graded…

People are really a cult following for PSA cuz that label is just nothing special and they aren't the best graders. Also have to worry they don't close your card up in between the holder. 🤷

Since this video was made cgc has improved their slabs and the turnaround has been spot on. I've been very happy with their services over psa.
The sheer amount of vintage cards that are graded by PSA is my main reason for choosing them.
Right now I've almost got a complete set of all the Rocket's EX's in PSA 10, and that's just something you'll never see with BGS/CGC. There probably won't ever even be a whole 9.5 graded set from BGS or CGC of these cards.
CGC > BGS > PSA > the rest

I may be in the minority, but I feel Beckett is the best for cards all around.
It's just their website and data that's lacking. Plus they're less well known. But yeah, I'd buy a Beckett over a PSA
a good thing to know about cgc is that they will release a pop report aswell pretty soon ive been told

CGC will surpass PSA in the future, value wise. CGC grades Pokémon cards a lot tougher which for collectors it is great. PSA is great for flippers because they are very lax when it comes to off center cards.
CGC slabs w/ subgrades = slab of the future. My CGC 9's and 9.5's are so damn clean and I know exactly why I got the grade I got.

I think I will waith for the return of all that backlog to see the part 2 of this video. Maybe with all that new offer the psa premium will dissipate, maybe the delay and price will change and maybe everyone quality will have increased. I feel like all the things we know are from the past because of the backlog. So I will stay wait before sending my first card to be graded :D. Thanx for the content and keep up the good work :)
Good video as always. I think a big con for PSA is the upcharge, they want a chunk%$ of the extra value you get by grading your expensive cards. I believe BGS doesn't(might be wrong) and CGC puts you at a higher tier at a concording max value, but often don't bother doing it from what I can see.
What do you think about the grading company at wooter Boys from TH-cam using computer to grade?
BGS upcharges as well. I imagine CGC will to once they’re more established in the hobby. They’re businesses. They’re in it to make money. Otherwise everyone would just submit high end cards on lower tiers if they’re patient.
IMO it’s kinda a good problem to have. That means your card worth a lot.

PSAs position as #1 is not deserved. But it's bought into by everyone. Mainly by people who have PSA cards in their collection, who want to keep the illusion going. And it probably will. Their consistency is not good. I've seen people get PSA10 and 9 grades with worn cards, many times. Rendering the whole thing pointless. It's all an Emperor's New Clothes, falsely inflating the value of PSA over others.

That’s just not true. People trust and like PSA. Beckett and SGC have been their competitors for a while. If what you said was true then guess what? BGS and SGC would take over #1 spot.
It’s not like they offer an inferior service. They’re actually respected in the hobby. It’s just they have a niche. BGS for black label and pristine. SGC for vintage. It’ll interesting to see where CGC lands after a few years

Surprisingly with SGC,I found a gold houndoom SGC 9 for cheaper then the card raw!!
PSA labeling looks very outdated, turnaround times and pricing are horrendous for the average collector, and I've been reading of some serious inconsistency issues. BGS label looks very aesthetically pleasing with a solid slab while CGC has a very clear slab and a solid label. I expect the latter two companies to catch up to PSA popularity and selling price in a couple of years.
great video to make during this time. grading is getting more competitive. i looked closely at that sgc blastoise and that was a legit 10. i'm shocked it didn't sell for more... not even half of was a psa 10 would go for.

Let me preface this with that I only have a position in psa cards, but I think SGC could potentially be a little slept on. Not a huge fan of the tuxedo but I think they are relatively reputable in sports and some of the cards go for way too low comparatively.
Interested to see what you think about hga? They where just at nationals for sports cards there are some cards already on the market from a print run early before the new facility opened. You can do custom labels as well and there slabs honestly look great.

How can people trust PSA? Grades fakes cards, trimmed/modified cards?, Pop control, inconsistent grades especially with their older slabs.
How does having more psa 9s and 10s in the market make it better? It just sounds like they hand the 9s and 10s out like nothing. To me, that makes it least appealing...ill never understand this card market.

BGS Black Label > CGC 10 > PSA 10 > BGS 10 wouldn’t mess with any companies outside of PSA BGS and CGC.

I’ve been sending my cards to MNT Grading. Canadian company, which is nice for me outta who lives in Canada. Decent turn around time, cool slabs, decent price, pop report, overall not bad for just getting your cards slabbed & adding some value!

As long as my Pokemon cards are protected and slabbed i really don't mind which company i get it fron as a Pokemon collector and investor all i know my cards are protected.

I believe Cgc will close the value gap over time...especially when they can finally start doing yellow labels. Bgs grades for 1 through 8 are trash lol 9+ usually pretty great though

Don't sleep on diamond service grading! They show you exactly where you got docked on the card.

@@thomasburr9244 vintage cards in their slabs actually go for a lot. Look at what SGC graded old sports cards go for. They beat Beckett in that area. It’s just modern cards that don’t for a lot in their slabs

The fanboy wars for these grading companies is as lame/cringe as console wars or Marvel vs DC. They’re all fine and do a good job.
PSA is best for overall. SGC for vintage. BGS for black label and pristine. And CGC to early to tell but probably end up similar to BGS. Just grade with whichever you like
Personally I like SGC. Minimal label and the black "tux" in the slab looks good to me. No it doesn't sell well. But for a collector preserving cards I think it's great!
SGC is actually great for vintage cards. Look at what vintage sports cards go for in their slabs. It’s just modern cards that underperform in secondary market. I can see them picking up steam with vintage Pokémon tho

Grading cards is becoming overrated. I’m an adult, I can protect my cards fine now. All the damage on my old cards is from when I was a child lol. I’ll stick to buying raw
Grading is not only about protecting. You also grade to make sure your card is valid and if you want to buy a expensive card you get a good idea of the condition from a third perspective. Most singles you see on ebay for example are described as psa 9/10? But are acutally a 5 or 6.
Its not about protecting.. its about value. Look up the prices for a graded zard and then an ungraded zard. You will be shocked
It seems a little over hyped for me too. A non graded card should not be the price of a graded 9 or 10 card anyway. But for modern why not just

@@Ben7x26 I’ve never graded cards but I still know what to look for when determining condition on raw cards…fakes are ridiculously easy to spot as well…I just don’t see the point in paying someone extra for grading for me
