Every time I think I'm getting "Good" on my Pan America and I need a solid dose of humility, I come and watch this guy's videos. This is a whole other level.
I'm picking up my Pan America in a few days from the dealership and took to TH-cam tonight because I was curious what it was really capable of. You sir have answered that question and raised my blood pressure all with one video lol. This amazing! Great riding.
Is it intended for single track? More enjoyable to take a light dual sport bike on these types of trails. I would have left him behind so badly on my Kawasaki or Suzuki dual sports. Save that heavy pig for the open road, open desert or logging, forestry roads.
@@fastdude2002 As intended, simply being not 100% on-road. Yes, a PA isn't built for THIS specifically, but it's not meant to be waxed in a garage either
@@gregatized nothing wrong with that. Personal choice to ride how we want. I have a KTM Adventure bike but I use dual sports or my dirt bike for single track and the KTM for exploring the National forests all around me. I do enjoy seeing you take the Harley on those trails, I’m just not tough enough to do it. 👍
Wow! Just got my Pan America so I can get off the asphalt and do some motocamping in the backcountry. Watching this video gives me the confidence that once I can learn good techniques, my bike can get me practically anywhere I want to go! Great work. You should offer coaching!!
First of all, I am exhausted just by watching. I can't imagine what riding that was like. Second of all, as a Pan Am rider myself, my jaw was on the floor the whole time. Good to know that the bike can be pushed way beyond the limit of anything I'll ever try with it. LOL
@gregatized been a dirt rider for 40yrs and picked up a used trials bike last year for pretty cheap(3k). The changes in your riding skills that these odd little bikes produce is worth many times their cost. Could not recommend one high enough.
Man that is so cool what this bike is capable of doing. I bought a 22 with 54 miles on it at my local Harley dealership. I can’t see myself beating up my Pan America like that. I bought the PAS to tour and handle the rough roads in my city. I would get beat up on my cruiser HD. The Pan eats it up lol. I’ll take unpaved and gravel roads and maybe some non-violent trails. But on single trails I use my 21 XR650L. With 13” ground clearance and 11.5” of travel front and rear it can clear a lot. But Ol’ Red is a pig 🐽 that can be handled. Good work man and that PAS is a beast.
i would never be able to beat up an expensie bike like that. but it is definitely doing it good job. i have a klr and decided to get a crf300l to tackle more technical stull. took it down some bike and hiking trails near blanchard springs arkansas and had the best time ever. smaller duel sports are so much for fun
I’m so jealous of the 300! I recently picked up a beater 350exc and I’m super impressed with the KTMs. Definitely want to give their big bikes a whirl as well!
Man you can ride!!! Few spots there I don't think my 1250gs boxer engine could've even fit through. On a side note: Might want to upres your hd video to 4k for TH-cam. TH-cam utterly destroys HD footage. I'll still watch either way though lol. Great riding!
Greg I love watching you wring the shit out of your Pan Am on trails that look like they would be difficult to walk thru. That bike can sure take a licking. Mine lives on pavement and after watching what you put yours thru I know mine will last me a long long time. Keep the vids coming. Love them. HD should hire you to illustrate what a tough machine the PA really is.
Honest question, how much would a kit with radically improved suspension travel, an 18/21 wheel package and close to a 100# weight reduction kit be worth to you Pan Am owners? I am considering making just such a kit for sale through my company.
I’d be interested in what it’d look like! There’s a really sick 18/21 pan am on instagram with a crf450 front end and heavy swingarm modifications to make room for an 18” dirt tire.
I have to tell you, there was a man riding in Pine, Valley Trail, same way. He hit a vertical 3 foot section went over the handlebars through his full face helmet, sliced his nose open on the windshield. Might want to think about I have a windshield, Dee Attachment, so you don’t go through your opening of your helmet just maybe for advice later.
There are people who do and people who are scared to do. You sir are not scared. That is the hardest single track done on the Pan-American on YT. I do stuff like that all the time on my DR650, and they look at me like I'm crazy.
How much ground clearance does it have in its highest position. Also i give you this trophy 🏆 for best ADV rider i have seen those skills are next level
@@gregatizedThat sounds great! We have nothing like that where I live. Riding a motorbike on a trail like this would be straight illegal, riding a bicycle would be also problematic most of the time..
Hey man I learned a new youtube trick the other day, if you upload in 2140p or whatever (even if it's 1080p source) it'll give you a way higher bitrate and make you video look a lot better. Now if only it were that easy to ride like you! Or even have a place like that to ride! What part of the country is this?
Thanks for the tip & kind words!! Unfortunately I only have an iPad to upload and I select the high quality option lol. These trails are in central PA. Part of the FRO trail system.
Dont think that bloated pig was really intended for the way your riding it. Was watching the dollar signs fly every time you dropped it. Harley equivalent to a lifted 4x4 pickup only used to go the grocery store...at least you got it dirty.
