Stop the food immediately.
Report it to the FDA: www.fda.gov/.../rep.../how-re...
Contact your veterinarian. Request a copy of your pet's medical records. Report your concerns to the pet food company and ask your vet to do the same.

This began with a significant rise in consumer reports of sick pets eating Purina pet food. We are now seeing the same alarming symptoms across different brands of pet food. This has happened previously when there was contamination at the supplier level - multiple brands purchased the same contaminated material.
SAVE THE PET FOOD. Do NOT agree to send the pet food company the food. If you feel compelled to do so, only send a small portion. Keep the rest of the food in the freezer in original packaging. Do NOT send the medical records to the pet food company. Document your conversation with the pet food company.
The pet food company may eventually say they will pay your vet bills and reimburse you for your pet food. If you agree to this they will ask you to sign a form which will prohibit you from taking legal action. Eventually, if there is a class action lawsuit you will be unable to join if you do this or if you want to file your own lawsuit.
The Facebook Group 'Saving Pets One Pet @ A Time' is a group of volunteers working tirelessly to help pets impacted by this. It is not our group, but it is the best resource we can offer at this time. Please have patience with these unpaid volunteers doing their best to keep up with the influx of concerned pet parents.

Exactly. Even in fast food joints, salads and heathlier choices are more expensive even though they are not if you source them yourselves. They want us to eat processed food. Remain sick and the special interests groups get payouts. There is no difference in our pets. The government is not looking out for you.

Vaxxines need to be stopped. ALL of them! Rabies vax killed 4 of my dogs. Heart failure. Dr. Pitcarin said this in his first edition...heart problems. Someone must have gotten to him, 2nd edition changed. Don't allow your pets or children to be lab rats!

Absolutely! I had a horse that when she was 3 months old was over vaccinated and had what we called vaccinosis. I will not ever go by the protocol that the equine vets tell you for foals that are still getting antibodies from their mothers milk. Learned the hardway. Same with dogs.

You are not crazy and you should be proud because you have the guts to speak up. My dog got a pancarious infection twice. The vet could not tell me why. Her blood work came back normal. I started feeding her home made gentle cooked an has not been sick in eight months. By the way, Kenzie loves your pup loaf and your Yin and Yang Book is awesome. I used it when my dog had bone cancer. The vet said he had two months and he lived an additional one year and eight days. I can't help but think every time I poured a bowl of kibble, got his vaccines, heart worm meds, and flea and tick drops that I contributed to his cancer. So thank you for speaking up and standing your ground ❤

It takes having one of your animals get sick to open up your eyes. I’ve been feeding a homemade diet for over 22 years.
They better watch out because more of us might just show up at AAFCO meetings and start telling our stories. I just don’t want to see Dr Judy get discouraged, people get tired of ranting when things don’t change. And I know that if people make their own pet food and it effects their bottom line, then big pet food will have to change
Purina makes $19 BILLION a year on pet food! It's going to require A LOT of boycotting to even make a dent, sadly. But...the raw or gently cooked, human-grade food category is the fastest growing category, so we are making headway!
Thank you Dr. Judy Morgan and all the others that are fighting this fight. It's sickening. So thankful I raw feed. Lost 2 beagles to science diet vet prescribed food. Absolutely never again will I feed a beloved pet any type fake poisonous food. Species appropriate food is the only way.
My dog is on Hills Science Diet prescription food for his IBD. It worked and he’s been diarrhea free for months now. Im trying to switch him to something better.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved kitty of 14 years- the one that changed me from a strictly "dog person" to a "dog AND cat person "- to Hill's Science diet after years of battling kidney and heart disease, along with hyperthyroidism. I've been pet sitting for my neighbors (journalists no less) of over 15 years now, and they lose cat after cat to Hill's and Royal Canin prescription diets. Same with our other neighbor and her dogs. I've confronted both about their pet food choices; the dog owning neighbor has finally relented and agreed to try her last remaking dog on some freeze dried holistic raw diets (he loves it). The journalists refuse to even LOOK at ingredients lists or hear about what's inside! They say that their vet has the final word, and that's that...despite the fact that they paid thousands to this same vet for over a decade now to treat their very sick pets!

Amen. I have ALWAYS wondered that about 'prescription' dog food. I used to work at a vet. There is nothing special about it at all...and you're right, the ingredients are crap. Such a farce!
Just last week my rescue doggo had diarrhea and threw up. It seemed his canned food didn’t agree with him. I’ve been meaning to to start making his food. So I cooked some turkey and rice, added a teaspoon of pumpkins cottage cheese and tablespoon of vegetable soup I’d made. He ate it up and I kept feeding- he got better the next day. Will forever give him homemade food! Thank you Dr for your passion and dedication! You’re a lovely and kind person♥️
I’m with you Dr. Judy, my dog got kidney disease after 10 years of eating Royal Canin Low fat Gastrointestinal food as prescribed to my dog for pancreatitis. 3 different Vets told me my dog had to stay in it for life. After researching the garbage that is in that food I switch to real human grade food from Just Food for dogs for kidney issues which is very low protein. My dog loved it and got much better, but we can’t keep a dog on very low protein for long, my dog lost a lot of muscle and therefore couldn’t stay on it for long. I tried some other recipes. Until we ended up buying their recipe and nutrition blend I started making him food at home. With home cooking meal, my dog stopped smelling bad, the amount of water he drank diminished because he was having wet food. His teeth went from kibble yellow to bright white, except for the tremendous yellow tartar from the kibble, and lastly stopped itching.
My dog loved his home food.
Royal canin omg for life? Dr.Judy finally said Exactly what I've been thinking this years: crappy ingredients & 3x expensive. Her good add: there are no Rx prescriptions in the food! And people have commented, "my dog loves it!" ... I say: i don't care if my dog loves it, I will never buy overpriced crappy prescription food.
even honest dedicated vets did not learn nutrition in vet school. Cmon, who believes we are what we eat? we better believe it and soon it will be common knowledge
What kind of food, my dog was also recommended to stay on Royal canin gi low fat until forever, the kibble made her very gassy, just took her off

After the P-demic, & cat food shortage, my 13 year old cat started getting sick & losing weight. I had fed him the checkerboard brand dry foods, as well as 9L & Frisks canned foods, his entire life without any issues. But during the past 12 months something drastically changed - the look & smell of the canned food, esp. And he began having sporadic horrible bouts of diarrhea; the stench unbelievable. The problem gradually grew so bad that neither of us was sleeping at night - he was constantly running to the bathroom. Awful.
I started researching possible causes & realized I couldn't afford the vet costs to determine the cause - there can be many reasons for digestive illness, from diet to cancer - diet being the top culprit.
So, I decided to try feeding him 100% poultry meat, organ meat & egg based homemade cat food. Within 3 days his diarrhea pretty much stopped. Within a week he was back to a normal bathroom routine again. I tested feeding him the canned food again & within 2 days the diarrhea was back. No more canned food for him.
I've been feeding him homemade food now for 6 weeks & he's well, putting on weight & his fur looks shiny & healthy again. He's also happier & more energetic. I am certain he would've died had I not gotten rid of the canned food. He also has 100% rabbit meat kibble available all day but he doesn't eat very much of it. He prefers the homemade food, thankfully.
Anyone having similar problems, there are dozens of affordable recipes to try. Please do - it's so worth it. And easy. For me it's 20 minutes of cook time, every 3-4 weeks. I make a big batch & freeze the food in containers. The satisfaction of feeding him well is immense. It's no trouble at all.
(Be sure to give your cat a chance to accept the new food. My cat sniffed it & walked away 3 times before tasting it. But once he did, he devoured it. And still does.

I felt it in my soul that these brands were horrible. My vet hates me because I refused to believe her. My dog's eyes were running and he was booty scooting and I asked was it the food she said no. I stopped feeding him those brands and magically all the symptoms went away 🤔🧐👀🧐😤 I'm going to try Raised Right human grade dog food from now on 😉
Thank you! Our girl has had some bowel, digestive issues over the past couple of years. Lots of money spent on treating the symptoms. We finally took her to an Internal Medicine Specialist and she was put on a lot of medication. She improved but our hope was that she could do well with no meds. We started her on a gently cooked diet and homemade treats and she is thriving!! She was previously eating Purina Pro Plan. We learned the hard way about the garbage they are pushing on our pets!

Brought our 7 week old Golden Retriever home and began feeding her a raw diet. She was 2 in October 2023 and she is thriving! There are many utube channels that give information on a raw food pet plan. I found some I liked and over time have added what I think she needs and to add variety. I will never again subject my pets to the garbage pet foods available!

My sisters Great Dane got sick from her commercial food a couple weeks ago. She recently found out her food was recalled. I’ve been trying to convince her for a while to make her own-well she’s convinced now!

Purina Complete Rabbit is also bad news. It's full of corn and gave our meat rabbits fatty organs and deadly obesity.

@joynjrny The grow outs were already headed to the freezer, so we cleaned the fat off. Rabbit fat isn't good for eating. But we lost a couple of breeding does to obesity. We switched to Show Rabbit formula (the feedstore only carries Purina products). We cut pellet rations in half, and they mostly get unsprayed natural Sorghum-sudan hay with that. Thanks for asking!
You have no idea how grateful I am for this video. I have been involved in pet care for 40 years. I have seen the conditions of dogs that are fed those commercial diets. I have tried and tried to suggest to people to try different foods, but I am not a vet and rarely would people think I knew what I was talking about. No one would bother to try to help their dogs with just a change of diet. So many dogs had issues, whether ear infections, greasy skin, smelly skin, itchy skin, hair loss, chewing on their skin, you name it, none of those ignorant owners would even think about a better, healthier diet. They see those damn commercials on TV, and think those asinine companies really give a rat's ass about their dogs. It absolutely disgusts me how negligent people can be. They say they love their pets, but whatever you do don't expect them to research what is in the dog food they feed. I gave up awhile ago trying to help people, I couldn't control what they fed their dogs, I figured if they are that damn stupid, they can just go spend their money at the vets and get a shot to control all of their dogs health issues!!!! But I want to end my rant by saying thank you, thank you, thank you, because now I feel vilified, How I have felt for the last 40 years was absolutely correct. I always knew deep in my heart not to trust the big box companies. . It's a damn dirty shame they have been permitted to have a fucking monopoly and so much control!!!! I apologize for my language but I have always felt passionate about this topic and I am so damn angry!!!!!

Sadly my pets were affected by Purinas food in November and December of 2023 !! What an awful experience. I almost lost my dog and sadly I lost my cat 😢 Not one vet asked what food they were on! But one did call animal welfare on me because they called to follow up and I wasn't able to call them back right away (within 2 hrs was their excuse) ! You are a savior in my eyes ❤🙏 I was ordering Purina One Large breed puppy food and Purina Cat chow ... I was having it delivered and have canceled any future orders. I can't believe you're getting so much heat for simply spreading the awareness that hundreds of pets are having potentially life threatening issues. I'm so grateful for you and people like you who share their experiences so that my dog can hopefully better off. I have learned so much from you and appreciate everything you do.
Shame on them. My heart breaks for families who lost a pet because they fed them. There is no disputing that dogs lived longer in the past (I’m 57). As I consider the lack of regard for safety in human foods, who knows what they are doing to save money. If you are having good results with your food, take a photo of the ingredients and check it periodically to ensure they aren’t changing the ingredients.. I experienced this with a vet recommended brand and realized the ingredients had changed. We love our pets and these companies know that. I’m thankful for the folks who are brave enough to provide us with the information. Stay strong♥️ and thank you. Hugs to all the pets who love us unconditionally. No pet should die from eating, no pet owners should go through such a loss, perhaps they make a million less in a year? One pet lost is tragic, I don’t care what the data says.

Well said! I switched my dogs to homemade food by one of your books and it brought them back to life. They are strays and didn’t have a good life before we found them due to the conditions they were in but boy do they look and feel great now. My vet has told me every time I go in there I need to feed them dog food from a proplan so they get all the necessary vitamins and minerals and I just look at her and say NOPE not gonna happen. Thank you for speaking for the ones that cannot speak and defend themselves.

Several thoughts. Don't kill the messenger. The love/lust of money is evil. Don't get an animal if you can't feed it feal species appropriate food. Thank you Dr. Judy for hanging in there. All those squeaky wheels are getting greased( negative). There are many of us behind you.

Dr. Judy educates me and because of her, she has extended the lives of both of our dogs. They are medication- free! Our dogs are completely raw fed and we own 2 large breed dogs. It can be done on a budget. I have been able to help so many people ditch the dry. We love Dr. Judy Morgan dvm!

Thank you for speaking up, Dr. Morgan! You hands down helped us save our little yorkie from stage three kidney disease with your dietary recommendations. The cod soup in particular added so much moisture and nutrients to his diet and he can't get enough. His BUN levels are within normal range now thanks to you! My 10yo lab-heeler mix got sick for the first time on Thanksgiving 2023, vomiting and diarrhea, lethargy. Got meds and put her on homemade chicken and rice for a week. Moved her back to regular diet and by Christmas she was throwing up again. No fever, no obvious disease, blood work shows high globulins. Switched her to a grain free, so far so good. The culprit - guess!
I love you Dr. Judy. Taste of the Wild ended up killing my 17.5 year old Lhasa Apso. Toward the end of her life, I came to my senses and started feeding her 'dog food' from a good reputable butcher, it's mostly organ meat. El-e loved it. Along with the raw meat, I fed her my organic fruit smoothies and steamed organic veggies. El-e never loved her food so much. I'm sorry to say that I had to learn the hard way before I learned how to feed my beautiful girl. Call your local butcher and ask about their sourcing and find one who makes 'dog food'. I went to the Meat Shoppe in downtown Phoenix. They now sell over 1,000 lbs of their dog food. It's cheaper and frozen. It's made of ground bone, heart, kidney, liver, tongue etc. El-e had the best stools ever with the new diet and nearly all of the darkening around her neck went away. Unfortunately, she developed suspected Cushings after the Taste of the Wild that was fed in conjunction w/ frozen Stella & Chewys. I thought feeding a kibble was a good thing to gie along w/ the frozen raw. The biggest mistake of my life, well one of them. Never again will I feed a kibble. Never. Please stop vaccinating your pets and stop feeding toxic kibble and all of the other toxic treats. I speak out in loving memory of my El-e, there's not one day that goes by that I don't miss her. January 23, 2024 will be the 1 year anniversary that she was set free. Kim

Started on a home cooking journey when one of my six dogs was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Palladia almost killed her in two days. Stopped it and started down the rabbit hole... here we are over a year later, she is living her best life and I am so thankful for every day with her! In my quest to cook for my fur babies, I started realizing the connection between human food and illnesses... now I live in the rabbit hole! Thank You!! My dog just passed away from cancer....full of cancer. I did what I could, spent money on numberous vet visits and no answers. I am hard on myself for feeding this to my dog and not knowing better. But disgusted with the dog food industry. My deloved dog is gone.

Our poor cairn terrier, she’s been so good to us for going on 17 years now, and I know our time with her is coming to an end, but she’s still got plenty of life in her, and I want her to be as healthy, happy, and peaceful as she can be for whatever time she has left to give us. About four weeks ago, she started having syncope(fainting spells), and it was horrifying. We’ve been feeding her kibble with some boiled chicken topper for most of her life. After experiencing these collapses, I started researching, and determined it has been the kibble that made her sick, and now, was trying to kill her. I immediately took her off kibble, and have been trying to get her on a healthy raw diet. She is still adjusting to her new, healthy diet, but she is doing so much better. No more fainting spells! I just wish I knew the horrors of kibble from the start of our life with her. We will just love her and cherish her for the time we have left with her.❤

Go Dr. Judy! I am with 100%. I have my 3 lb Shih-tzu on Ollie and Farmers Dog, and my other 2 dogs I am feeding Badlands as their morning meal and the bad food at night. I had that I can't get them all on a fresh diet, but I am living on 1,400.00 a month. They eat better than I do. I have printed out your recipes and will try that to hopefully do better. You are a blessing to all of us that love our animals. Thank you for your hard work!
I’m now using Badlands as topper with raw…so far so good. My dogs love it! It is very expensive but my pets are worth it!❤️
You also might check with a good butcher. Many keep the organ meats frozen and they are sold by the lb. It can be much cheaper than some of these companies. You are a good pet parent.

Thank you! Thank you! Have boycotted Purina for years. I had a cat, Micaila who got diagnosed with Kidney disease. This was the second cat i owned that got diagnosed with kidney problems. I had several friends with with pets diagnosed with kidney problems. Did some research and found out what was really in commercial pet food and kibble is the worst thing to feed a cat. Against the vet’s advice I switched Micaila to a balanced raw diet. Her lab results returned to normal much to the vet’s amazement and mind. When i was a kid we had lots of pets, and they always got table scraps from good home cooked meals from scratch. They were offered a pet food but our pets ate very little of it. They were healthy without any chronic health problems or allergies that are so common in our pets today. The pet food industry throws out such ridiculous propaganda about the dangers of home prepared foods for our pets. It’s not as hard as they make it out to be and there are 6:21 good small companies that can do the preparation for you if you’re strapped for time. Keep up the good fight, Dr. Judy. God Bless you!

Thank you Dr. Judy and others that are not afraid of standing up for what’s right! You are the reason why I am so adamant about home cooking for my yorkie girl and do titers and not agreeing to vaccines. I switched from a traditional vet who pushed Purina Pro Plan and chewed me out for going against her. I travel almost an hour to a holistic vet and he told me to keep doing what I was doing for my girl because she is extremely healthy and has better teeth than most 3 year old yorkies.
I also only do titers. I am a trained vet assistant and refuse to do the vaccines. I will know when my dog's titer is low, that it is time for a vaccine.
Thank you so very much for helping get the word out, there are still so many that have no clue what's going on. As I ran into the pet store to purchase some temporary frozen food while I obtain whats necessary to switch to raw, (quality ingredients) I was dumbfounded at the huge (2 endcaps and center isle) display of Purina dog food. The employees are aware of the issues with the food, but stated Petco said to put it out. This is beyond acceptable, our pets need you as an advocate. Thank you!
Why are you going to Petco in the first place? There are a lot of independent pet stores that won’t sell that crap.

Well, in 1980 & 1985 I had 2 amazing dogs on regular pet food. They both lived to 16 years of age. I’ve lost a couple great dogs too early and the only difference is how the food has changed. I want to thank you for trying to get your voice heard and to represent all of us pet owners. I’m trying to find a good dog food that fits the budget & realized all the money I spend at the vet for ear infections would cover many months of much better food. Again, thank you so much for what you’re doing.

She is finally slowly improving, and so I was considering stopping cooking for her, and letting her resume eating kibble. NOPE, not after seeing your video tonight. I knew better, but was doubting myself & my ability to cook a healthy meal for her. I will keep trying to learn, and keep her off the kibble. Our sweet "baby girl" thanks you too. 💕

I have all of Dr. Judy's books. While I don't cook the meals myself, I did just switch to Spot and Tango fresh. I was feeding Stella and Chewy freeze dried raw, but it popped up on the list, so I switched immediately. Hope that helps. @@jamiemaginness7082

My fear.....
There have been comments by the "powers that be" , that our pets are part of the problem with CO2 emissions (What problem!! Give me a break) . Just as they want to get rid of meat {Chickens, cows, etc) & make us eat crickets, they don't want us to have pets. I fear this issue could be a start of altering the food on purpose. I've also heard vaccines for pets will start to have the same MRNA technology in it as the jab millions have taken the past 4 years. Thank goodness I refuse to poison myself or my pets with that crap. But I do fear what they are doing or will soon do to human food, the foods we buy to feed our pets species appropriate diets. I fear someday we can't run from the crap that farm animals are being injected with, going to our plates & our Furbabies bowls. Time will tell..... But we need to scream NO at the top of our lungs!
Thank you for posting this video.This just makes me cry, to think of so many pets that literally do not want to eat the ultra processed food (their senses are far superior to ours) and are tricked to eat it by one way or the other (you check forums "my pet doesn'twant to eat the food I just bought, how do I make him/her to eat it?) This is comparable to a biggest group of lab animals someone does sick experiments on. And then we give a praise and a cuddle to our pet for eating the poison. Human grade, raw, specie appropriate food. Be vigilant. Be kind. Don't forget about yourselves - you need specie appropriate diet too. Research.
Dr. Judy , I feel blessed to have found you a couple of years ago because I knew about proper animal diets but I fell into having to feed inferior quality due to finances. Not any more. My little Beagle eats quite well thanks to learning more from you. Keep up the fight for our precious pets.

💯💯💯. Been feeding raw/ lightly cooked for over 3 years. After losing my 3rd Great Dane to kidney failure. The first 2 times was connected to the recall back in the early 2000. This last one I am not blaming entirely on the crap kibble however it certainly didn't help his kidneys either. He was only 2 years old. His litter mate also was quite unhealthy. Since the switch to raw he was much better however had severe allergies- mixed tocopherols/ derived from fish. I did a lot of research and attended dog food summits where Dr Judy was one of the experts on nutrition. I am so thankful for those classes. Dr Judy- please continue to be the true advocate you are for our beloved animals.

Cancer rates in dogs has risen every year since commercial dry foods were introduced. This is a fact given by a 35 year veterinarian. After losing a dog to cancer, I’ll never feed my dog any dry kibble. After switching to a fresh diet my dogs skin allergies went away, no more loose stools, no more gas, no more weepy eyes. Greatly improved their overall health.
