Hey all! My big project is finally here! Thanks for being so patient. I've been playing Persona 5 Royal on and off for a few years now, and now that I'm living in Japan, I figured: why not find all of the locations in real life?
This was a very fun video to make, I'm excited to make more projects like this in the future. Please let me know any constructive feedback in the comments below, or any places you think I should go in Japan next!

    Persona 5 creator Katsura Hashino:
“I wanted to build a game like a picaresque novel. So I needed a place that showed that the character didn’t have anywhere to go and where the character confronts the adult generation.”
“For the place where the character should live, I found it nice to have a large highway that looked like it covered all the the city, and for the character to end up in the small streets at the brink of destruction.”
“There, he would find shelter at an old man’s place, I thought that it would be a good place to start the story.”
    From Katsura Hashino's Archipel interview.

I've never been to japan, but I adore when games take real world locations and recreate them. It makes seeing the real world inspirations and thinking "Oh, I know where this is!" really special in the way that a location just being inspired from real life doesn't.

Visited Sangenjaya in 2019 and it looks like it has changed. Also visited the Ginza line ticket gate area at Shibuya before it was demolished and the underground shopping mall before it was renovated. The coffee shop LeBlanc is based on is in Ginza btw. Also bought a drink at the juice bar to boost up my stats. Went to alot of other places including the book store in Jimbocho.

One interesting thing you may have missed in Shibuya crossing in front of Hachiko statue is the missing Green Bus (although you did say that many things changed). The Green Bus that was originally there was moved about 2 years ago to Akita prefecture (Hachiko's hometown) and was replaced by that new tourist helpdesk.

I miss tokyo so much, my trip there in march was so wonderful, of all the cities i toured in my 2 week trip, tokyo was by far the most daunting and honestly massive. osaka was the most like america, kyoto was the most unique place ive ever been, but tokyo...it felt so strange, if im being honest it was the most busy place ive ever been and also felt so lonely, granted i was travelling alone but it was so strange. it was by no means a bad experience, i would absolutely love to live here if it were possible for me, and seeing all of the locations that i had only seen in videogames felt surreal. next time i go im absolutely bringing friends, the sense of loneliness definitely left some sort of aftertaste looking back. i dont regret it at all though, this was by far the best experience of my life and has given me so much meaning to my existence. that all being said, this is an absolutely wonderful video that is well edited to showcase all of the iconic locations of tokyo without giving the sense of being lost which absolutely happened to me when i visited. sushi and mcdonalds have not been the same since ill say that much.

The Lelouch poster be perfect, at 3:33 - international or not - be perfect. He were voiced by same voice actor as the MC. Caused me shivers the first time i heard he voiced Arsene.
