The tree looks absolutely beautiful ❤️ I have been sewing here and there since my early twenties. I shifted my interest to crochet and knitting and then about 10 years ago I started a home dec business sewing window treatments, cushions, bedding, anything soft finishings for the home, including reupholstering furniture. Then about 5 years ago I took to sewing my own clothes! I absolutely love it and if I could do nothing but sew all day, everyday, then I would. 😂
I would definitely stay home and sew everyday if I could too. I started learning to crochet as a teenager but didn't follow through. I made curtains one time and I'm not sure id do it again so I chucked at you doing home decor.
My sewing story learned to sew when put on punishment for playing football with boys in high school my mother sat me down in front of her sewing machine with a pattern said if you can learn football with guys you can teach yourself to sew, that was in 1965, I’m 72 yrs and still love to sew.
Nice tree. My sewing journey started 60 years ago when I was 7. My mother taught me to sew to keep me busy. I had a kid sewing machine and sewed clothes for my doll Francine (barbie's friend)
Beautifully decorated Christmas tree and so cute little girls! Love the colors and light! I used several colors on our tree - red; green, silver, gold and natural brown.
I leaned to sew as a child. But I treated sewing as a chore and hated it. Fast forward 50ish years. I am cycling through several crafts, gaining a little expertise and loving it. I decide to revisit sewing. I gathered up a huge pile of t-shirts I had stashed and I started upcycling. It was the first time I had clothes that actually fit both my shoulders and my hips. My passion was ignited. Your tree is lovely and your daughters looked like they had fun decorating it.
You found your way back to sewing and this time you like it. It's funny how life can go full circle sometimes! My kids definitely had fun. 1 daughter 1 son lol. I guess because his hair is in cornrows too it's hard to tell.
Your tree is beautiful. Good job. My first experience sewing was in middle school. I loved it but it was only one class. I tried it again on my own after graduating from college. Tried again a few years lateron my own for a short period. Now After many many moons I’ve finally started again seriously in the last 2 years. I’ve taken lots of classes and watched many videos (like yours) now I consider myself a confident beginner. The goal is to continue enjoying and learning in my future retirement coming soon I hope.
Thank you very much. We are pretty happy with how it turned out. Funny how you kept making your way back to sewing. Happy it’s now a part of your life full time!!!
Your tree is beautiful. Wow, you're sewing story is pretty cool. I bought a sewing machine and taught myself how to sew also. I took an almost 20-year break and now I'm back at it, teaching myself everyday!❤
Ohh, that’s a pretty tree! 😍😍 Hopefully, your camera managed to capture some of the process before it conked out. And as the one grandkid probably spent the most time around Granny and her machine, shameful that the most I could do is thread a needle 🫣 But! I did that many, many times for her, professionally 😎😎.
My Christmas color palette this year is mixed metals. I’ve been wanting to learn to sew for most of my life (no one in my family sews). At my request, my hubby gifted me a sewing machine for Christmas in 2020. I took an online beginner’s sewing class that next spring and have been sewing ever since, with lots of help from TH-cam University.
I have a gold and red tree. My daughter normally does it but was tired of waiting her her to decide when she was ready to do it. My mother sews but she didn’t teach me. I learnt when I was in the airforce when I was 20! 🥰🦩🥰🦩
The tree is lovely.
My sewing story is.....I have none😂😂😂😂😂 I just like watching you sew😅
Wonder if you heard me saying to go get a machine and come join the journey :)
Awe!!!❤

Beautiful tree and kids helping!
I'm one of those who learned from mom and grandma. I've been sewing almost 30 years!
Wowsers. It sounds like you have loads of sewing experience!!! Way to go! Thank you so much
Love ❤️ the Christmas tree decorations and you had little helpers I approve they did great!
I was a little nervous at first about what they'd do to the tree but it wasn't too bad. Thank you very much.
