Isn't it amazing how diverse our sewing community is? I really love that we are all so different but we are sew the same. 🤩I use mostly PDF patterns. I have them nicely filed on my computer in a file named sewing.😄I file by the name of the pattern with the maker following. It sounds simple, but it took me quite a while to figure out how to do it so I could find them when I needed to. Recently I have started saving the images of the fabric from my receipt. I name it as it is on the receipt add the amount of yardage I purchased and where I got it. I open the file and see all the thumbnails of my beautiful fabric. Upkeep is pretty easy because all the info is on the receipt. I store printed patterns in a manilla envelope when/if I get around to it. Yes, I am also bad about it. Night night and Merry Christmas.
I store my digital files like you. I only keep printed pdfs that I KNOW I'll remake. I got to the point of having too many to store 🤣😬 so I only keep my absolute favourites.
@@unsewcial that has only happened a few times when I didn't keep a pattern. My size changes alllll the time. I reprint my size. If it's an enveloppe pattern, I do keep it.
I use fabric storage boxes to store my big 5 patterns. I store each of my pdf patterns in separate file pocket folders with labels on each folder to identify the patterns. I have a lot of both the big 5 and pdf patterns. I grew up with a pull out sofa!
Oh hun I feel ya… I normally herniate my disc once a year… then I turn to knitting 😂. No sitting still as a mum eh. I have a table that stores all my patterns under I have two apps. Tapforms - my first one I used I now have a new one calls backstitch … which I prefer. But I have over 1.5k big four patterns. The indie ones are in the envelope that come in the A0 printed package the company sends me 🥰🦩🥰🦩
My pdf patterns are stored on my laptop in folders named by the pattern makers. My paper patterns are stored in a similar way - by the pattern makers. Enjoy your movie night!
I have storage boxes that I keep my patterns in. They are primarily big five patterns so I have a box for simplicity dresses one for simplicity bottoms and one for simplicity tops and then I have the same for the other four pattern companies. I also have a box for knits which has all five pattern company's patterns in there. I keep all the boxes on my bookshelf with my fabric. I also have my patterns listed in the same way on my phone. By pattern company and pattern number and a small description of the pattern. I started the phone log because I was buying two and three copies of the same pattern. Now, when the patterns are on sale and I see one that I like I will always first check my phone to see if I already have it and this has eliminated the purchasing of the same patterns.
9:56 I trace my patterns then am very careful about replacing the tissue patterns back in the package, then I put the package into a ziplock bag and include all of the traced pieces and instructions in the ziplock bag.

I love the diversity! You sound like you’ve worked out a great storage system that’s beneficial to you!!! Yayyyy

Really??????? But suppose something changes and you discover you wanna make a pattern you had but no longer have? Lol

I’m glad you have a storage system. Thank you. Movie night was lovely.
Thanks for the video. I use clear folders. They are the same size as large manila folders, but I can see inside.
Sounds good!

I need to get organized like you! That sounds like a super efficient system! Kuddos to you!!!
@@unsewcial than you!

Ooooo a ziplock is a good idea! I’m a pattern tracer too so I’m happy to hear this.
@ I like the ones with the actual zip on them, not the ones that you have to press together
@@SSBankesterthe press ones are so annoying. When I think they are closed they aren’t 😢
@ exactly why I like the zipper top ones!
Did you say store😅 my patterns are all over the place to the point that I have ordered duplicate of so many patterns
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣oh boy!!!
