tips for a new players, make use of auto craft and item loadout. Make sure you don't bring items to their limit so that you can gather and it will auto craft a lot of useful items with just one click. For example by collecting herb and honey, it will craft mega potion for you. Then make sure to use item loadout to transfer all the item and you can start over again.

Another thing with the Meowcenaries and how important they actually are outside of just bringing you more materials from monsters you need is that there are items that can only be gotten through them going out on expeditions. Target Camera = Quick camera pan to R3-selected monster (introduced in MH4)
Focus Camera = Dark Souls Lock-On (introduced in World)
I find the Focus Camera setting to be absolutely terrible for Monster Hunter.
Your positioning is really important, hitting different parts of a monster is key. Full manual camera control is too good to give up.
Radial Menu feels nicer to most as "R Stick + Press R3 to use item"

Since you have to manually aim your melee attacks, using the snap focus on monster orients you much faster than the focus camera setting. I dunno maybe it’s just me but since your character isn’t strafing around the monster like you would in a souls game, having a bit more control over your camera compliments the fact that you are aiming the direction of your attacks. I guess if you just jumped on this game from botw or dark souls, the focus camera may be helpful at first, but getting used to “camera management” will be beneficial in the long run.

Focus camera is great when you're learning the game... But when you've gotten a hang of it. Having the freedom of the camera is incredibly handy because you know to be using your environment.. it allows you to focus on what you need to be doing instead of blindly running for it hoping no khezu is in your way. But it's a personal choice and so long as you're having fun you can do whatever ya like :D

Also there's a problem with capturing every monster... While yes you can get some items you can't get from slaying you also can't get the items you'd get from slaying them... Study up on your mark and PLEASE DONT ALWAYS ASSUME ITS A CAPTURE... Make a message asking for it and if you're playing with another language player. Just spam no if they set up a trap and they'll hold back on tranqs... Ya have some people that only ever capture. Just sigh and try again.

One tip that I could share is that you can use the tranq bomb first and trap it later on but you must be quick. People that use traps a lot during a single hunt will make the monster resistant towards the trap and it made it easy to throw a tranq bomb at the sleeping monster(it doesn't wake it up) and then use the trap after that.

9:50 sometimes your cat will tell you that they're ripe for the capture before the blue head pops up under it's icon. You can capture it right then and there also. Time saver. I found it out just trying it because why else would the cat say that if you couldn't capture it lol.

At the 9:32 mark, one thing that should be known is that sometimes the best materials from a monster is EXCLUSIVELY obtained via carving. Example of this the plates from specific monsters like Rathalos and the final boss of solo story mode. Carve over capture for quality. Capture over carve is for quantity over quality.

i know it's not really a popular tip because many people say that low rank armor isn't worth it and you should go through with like one armor set and wait until high rank to craft more - that's bad advice, honestly. especially for players that are new to monster hunter, take the time and experiment! farm some monsters, get used to fighting them (this will prepare you for high rank too!) and get some nice armor to experiment with skills. take it slow, there's a lot to low rank too, and you'd miss out if you just push through to high rank! also, in low rank you can just fashion hunt if you want because while there are some nice armor sets already you can definitely go without good skills at that point, so enjoy that part of the game! also, don't save up items or monster parts. i know that some stuff is rare and you might feel like keeping it for later but at some point you can always get it back, no need to save anything. if you want to make a cool weapon or armor do it, it's more fun to play like that :)

I'm happy they kept the base of what the series is without taking away or changing too too much outside the more frantic combat. I hate using the A button for the Palamute, the range on it is way too short, I’d much rather call him from the actions menu, as not only does it call him in from further, but he will continue to try to chase and attempt to get you to mount for a while, instead of with A if you don’t make the first mount (due to gathering, carving, running, etc.) he just gives up immediately.

    2 things:
The game starts you out with an incredibly slow weapon. I found it was much easier and more fun to fight with Dual Blades, once I crafted myself a pair.
Also, when you're running up a wall, you can hold R bumper (the run button) to climb further up the wall, instead of kicking off after a second or two. The climb duration can be extended by using armor with the Wall Runner skill, such as Kamura Leggings or Khezu Mail. Equip both to stack the effect.

The capture tip is just common knowledge, like you said there's a training mission. Also as we all should know by now, capturing is actually worse and locks you out from getting certain materials again like you said but poorly.
At the end of the day it is faster if that's the goal then there's no problem as in low rank by capturing you skip 20% of the potential fight and 25% for high rank.

Using the DPAD to get on a palumute is actually better than holding A. If you have actually spent some time in the game you’d realize holding A while chasing a monster doesn’t always grab the dog as sometimes its screwing around. Using the DPAD for it and its way better to use while in quests because it will ALLWAYS call the dog to you to mount. That being said, you should learn to just use cats over the dogs. Dogs really only serve the purpose of mobility. Cats have access to amazing skills that can trap monsters and buff you, way more impactful. Dogs only serve the purpose of transportation. Just unlock the sub camps and learn the maps and travel time won’t be an issue.
    Source: Myself
I wouldn’t call myself an expert by any means but I’ve got around 150 hours in the game and beat the game. Just farming for talisman melds at this point to try and get good talismans.
