You can manipulate the windows save file to put the contents of the steam save file into it and then pick up on Windows. That can then sync across the game pass service so could be played on Xbox.
That's a good way to get banned from Xbox live....they don't care about people who can't grasp that PC and Xbox aren't the same platform and IF someone doesn't want to "restart" they should just stick with PC....Save file modding is without a doubt breaking TOS
@@lutherheggs451 I'm like 73% sure if Xbox didn't do anything towards those using those save editor programs for 360-era/early XB1-era games (Like Dark Souls 1, or the Soul Calibur with Ezio) they won't for cheeky save porting. There's maybe 3 criteria for Microsoft's intervention: -Heavy multiplayer abuse; Like 10+ player lobby stuff. (Doubly so if multiple reports received and/or evidence recorded.) -Gamerscore editing (Which might be what save porting triggers here, since achievements are weird for games like these.) -Staff Impersonation/Ban Evasion (If you somehow evade being banned for the above two, and play it off as being 'Staff' or edit an alt with the exact same statistics, Microsoft's pulling that .45 and saying 'We can't expect God to do all the work.') Even then they hardly care about Gamerscore anymore, seeing as how it no longer has any financial advantage. (Microsoft used to work off of a points system instead of money and had an actual 'Microsoft Rewards', which not only gave you rewards points back, but having a certain GS criteria would net you direct rebate on every purchase. {Like maybe 2%~4% at max.})
I'm leaving this comment because I'm genuinely curious about new and older players' thoughts. Look. I picked up MH in World so I have no ties to old school. But uh, how do we feel about getting carted mid air? Was fightin Mag and he wombo combos me before I could even dodge or move. Now I understand we have the wire bugs BUT HOLY FUCK. That is some of the most unfun MH deaths ever. I just die because this is Tekken now. I'm in love with the game. I do mean this as a dig, I can see why they B team.
Terrible idea to start with this armor. People going to get into master rank and wonder why they die in one hit because they never had to learn to dodge or get out of the way
As a new would be player I'm debating in buying this now since it is 20 bucks on ps5 and the deluxe is 25, also there's a 14 weapon set csll the defender weapons and another armor call Black belt it seems that this 2 came after your video man I just boot it up and I want so much to like it! The closest thing I play is a pretty good game God eater and if this is anything like that I probably gonna like it
Hopefully by the time rise leaves game pass. They have better cross save support. Cause personally I want to play it on game pass atm but when they offer the option to buy it due to it leaving the store. I'd rather play it on steam than through the xbox store.
Game pass seriously is the best thing ever I can tell you how much money I’ve saved on games that I just play for a week and get bored while I’m taking a break from my main game
Monster hunter rise is definitely a great game but it’s way easier then monster hunter world. This does seem to have more monsters though so it’s not a big complaint
The new wirebug mechanic adds a lot of verticality and movement to the game. The gameplay is very reminiscent of traditional MH games but having access to quick dodges and extra skills with the wirebugs makes the game feel a bit lighter and faster imo.
Hey. So I got the game on my switch during blackberry Friday. This game is still kinda confusing and I'm not very far in it (3 star town?, 1 star hub) and I was wondering where a good youtube channel to find a lot of MHR guides? I keep having troubles with things like material/part gathering, I don't know where or how I should hit monsters to drop parts, how trapping works, how the menus work and when you look at said menus, the weapon tree is confusing, about what level should I be at before getting sunbreak, how do I get weapon and armor appearances on my other sets, what do the buddies even do, why do I have a home is it useless, how should I be using my items, what items are good and what are useless, why do some materials auto craft and some don't, what do the stars mean and should I go to higher star ranks, how do I set up my radial and normal item slots and what should I set those up to, etc. This game is the best one for newcomers but still by far the most difficult and complicated franchise to get into besides like, wow or something
Also a very important thing. I have only been foraging and upgrading a single weapon because I don't understand the game yet and want to have something comfortable while I'm still understand the rest of the game, is this a good or bad idea (I main switch axe)
Just to make sure I understood correctly, the version of Rise we are getting is the version that has the charge blade and gunlance fixes right? I played on switch and I want to run through with something that isn't the LS lmao. It's a toss up between GL, CB, and SA
Make sure to give your pets better gear I’m in high rank and they had lvl 1 gear also don’t give up on magnamalo I finally found a good team and we easily beat him also try new weapons ranged weapons made the game easier for me
From the one hunt I've done, it's crazy so far how much heavier you feel on Xbox compared to switch; Switch felt like sonic on crack, but will have to see if this changes as I play.
That is interesting to hear. Did you use a different weapon on switch or something? Because all the mechanics and animations are exactly the same, just 60fps on PS5/XBO, so it doesn't really make sense to me that the game would feel worse (different yes, but more frames is more better as a general rule)
@@ZeroStrife1396 not really, had LS on the hunt which I've used before on switch many times. But it was even in the village I felt it. Also it's not feeling worse, just heavier in a more realistic way almost like I'm back in MH world. Like I said I'll need to see if it persists, might just be my brain playing tricks now that I'm on my preferred platform.
This sounds made up on switch you literally get hit while trying to run or move with perfect monster tracking cause the 30fps can't handle it so I doubt unless you picked up gunlance or great sword. Other than that the better performance will be better overall unless it's just your stuff you use or internet can't only be one of the latter...
@@Willow4526 Oh, gotcha. I'm somewhat used to "heavy" meaning clunky or something along those lines. I'd say it could just be because you're playing it on a bigger screen, but if you used the switch docked, that wouldn't be a thing, so dunno. Maybe just getting used to the framerate, yeah. Haha. either way, hope you enjoy it.
Strange, I didn't get the Guild armor, only layered and I didn't get the Legacy Talisman or the cosmetics for my cat and doggo. I also don't have the champion weapons. I'm already near the end anyway, but it's still weird.

Put a paralysis weapon on your buddy. Late game hunter levels come from public rampages, you get the most exp from doing the objectives. Focus on making decorations, Sun Break drops soon and end game high rank armor is largely useless after master rank 4, probably sooner I just had a full rocket dragon set.
@@BLOODKINGbro oh I know right, I am already fairly geared on switch. I just play with my gf and switch had connectivity issues when playing together. She would constantly drop during hunts on local connections. Switch is just a pokémachine now.
I'm very sad that they do not allow you to show combos. I have a buddy whose never played and I'm gonna have to refer him to a TH-cam video just to really figure out combos. Wait did he just recommend using the more less defender set for new players? I seriously hope I'm mistaken. I mean I'd hate to recommend someone to the more less defender set. This was the biggest mistake I ever made in world because I could just tank any hit didn't allow me to learn anything. So looked it up. I know chain mail is a very first craft able armor and you have a defense of 20 and he's recommending new players with armor rating defense of 120.
besides elders. They could do without the teostra/kushala in every single game. They did make new ones with ibushi and narwa so cant complain too much, but imo those fights are pretty dogwater boring. Otherwise the variety of wyverns is pretty good, wish they added brachydios just to get a little more brute in there.
Using the free armor and defender weapons as a beginner is the best way to accumulate bad habits and get a totally wrong impression of the game. Once the defence bonuses of the armor are even with the monsters, you suddenly get demolished. Those armors make you feel nearly invincible in the beginning as monster will just do like 5% hp-bar damage to you. As soon as thats over, the real game beginns and you suddenly realized that you've basically cheesed 3/4 of the game and you suddenly have no idea how to play.
To brand new players: If you want to feel the magical Monster Hunter-like progression, then DO NOT equip the 'Guild Cross armor'!!! If you really suck at the game, sure you can use it. Other than that, it's just killing the game's main purpose.
Yeah, it's a set of higher stat and better skilled armor that make the game easier, so you can get through the story a bit easier/faster. Same with the weapons, they do more damage/more sharpness.
Nice! Now explain please, how to get an option to have Champion Dual Blades. Because it is one of ten things I NEED to know before playing MFR. My screen looks different and I am a new player. If you want to help then please help.
Apparently, from what I've read, you need to get the sunbreak expansion pack, which is unavailable until spring for all consoles except for PC and, of course, Switch

Bah. Don’t be a baby about it. Start from scratch. It’s already the most forgiving monster hunter. You definitely don’t need the guild or defender armor to breeze through like 90% of base Rise.
Can we stop pushing for every single game to be a masochism simulator? Seriously, it's getting weird at this point. Even games like No Mans Sky have people crying about it not being punishing enough.
@@thiccolascage8180 it’s not about it being punishing. It’s about it being a learning experience. It’s about adapting and developing yourself as a player. If you are handed everything to beat the game without learning then why play at all? The purpose is in the name of the game. Monster. Hunter. Not one shot yogi simulator. I’m not looking for Frontier Z levels of insanity, though that would actually balance the hunter to monster power creep considerably. I know it’s getting easier so it’s more accessible to new players but expansions should bring it back to the HARD level. This isn’t an open world survival game. It’s not Dark souls either. It’s Monster Hunter. It’s learn the maps, use all your tools because you HAVE to. It’s learn the behaviors and quirks of the creatures you are HUNTING. not fighting, but HUNTING. The fact that the player has full access to their entire inventory was a warning flag in world that the game was shifting and Rise just made it worse by shrinking the maps, removing the need for cold or hot drinks, making bitter bugs or nullberrys pointless, they took away any need for 99.9% gathering on the map outside ore and bones. It’s too easy. I have been playing GU for the past couple of months and that’s better in terms of player reward vs effort then Rise ever was. Rise just hands you near full sets of armor after one hunt ffs.
Are the event quests timed like from MHW, and then comes back eventually? I got all of them from the courier, but had a sudden thought since they were many and I’m still trying to rank up more.
Honestly mybtos had the same problem. I don't really get that problem and played 1000+ hours on WorldBorne... My bro got it better by just 'toying around'. Guess it's a time based thing making it comfortable
The intro was hilarious to me. First issue: Coming from World, I've been hating how much slower they made all the hunter animations. Second issue: MULTIPLAYER DOESN'T WORK. Neither I nor the people I want to play with can join quests together. Third issue: The game separates Solo/Co-Op quests, and Solo quests only go to 6 star, which is only a couple hours of gameplay. Fourth issue: The Hub Quests that they FORCE you into with SEPARATE progression with 4 player multiplayer scaling, and obviously no solo scaling like we had in World. Fith issue: The game randomly freezes. For no reason. Just sittin in smithy comparing weapons? Freeze. Jumping a gap during Expeditions collecting Spiribirds? Freeze. Standing in the village to go to the bathroom? Freeze. (Yes, I even have all settings at the lowest settings) The fact that they haven't released an update in the first week to address any of these issues is infuriating. I was able to play World with friends from day 1. How couldn't the Rise team call up the World team and be like, "Hey, how'd you get multiplayer working on Consoles? We plan to release Rise over there." Currently 2/5 rating. I love the new weapon and armor varieties, the monster variety, but I hate this game on the sluggish core mechanics and previously listed issues.
Nah man sunbreak will probably release in 3-4 months I doubt it will get a sale. And if you wait you will rush through base rise which will be no fun and you can't grind metirals

Omg I love this channel. Stoked that I got this game and decided to check this out. I knew there was gonna be something here.
There's maybe 3 criteria for Microsoft's intervention:
-Heavy multiplayer abuse; Like 10+ player lobby stuff. (Doubly so if multiple reports received and/or evidence recorded.)
-Gamerscore editing (Which might be what save porting triggers here, since achievements are weird for games like these.)
-Staff Impersonation/Ban Evasion (If you somehow evade being banned for the above two, and play it off as being 'Staff' or edit an alt with the exact same statistics, Microsoft's pulling that .45 and saying 'We can't expect God to do all the work.')
Even then they hardly care about Gamerscore anymore, seeing as how it no longer has any financial advantage.
No cross save or import saves from my switch is bs and tbh hate Capcom for that lol
Thanks for the tips. Got this game on gamepass and it's been amazing and chill fun so far
Very good guide
Actually there's another guild armor which is way stronger especially for High Rank called Black Belt S Armor
The closest thing I play is a pretty good game God eater and if this is anything like that I probably gonna like it
Great video !! Thank you
Hopefully by the time rise leaves game pass. They have better cross save support. Cause personally I want to play it on game pass atm but when they offer the option to buy it due to it leaving the store. I'd rather play it on steam than through the xbox store.
thanks for this awesome guide, i dont see the champion weapons anywhere on ps5 though, and i have taken all the addon stuff from the mail dude
Great videos i got al that 3 gear thank you!
It does have more monsters and quests
@@sandornagy3484 yeah that’s kinda why I said what I said
How’s the combat gameplay? Is it still weighty slow encumbered as usual MH games?
The new wirebug mechanic adds a lot of verticality and movement to the game. The gameplay is very reminiscent of traditional MH games but having access to quick dodges and extra skills with the wirebugs makes the game feel a bit lighter and faster imo.
Same as before
Hopefully they add bonus content on main game and sunbreak
You should make a full walkthru/playthru guide coming from dauntless I will soooo lost and I’m a pro in dauntless.
Damn, forgot it was coming to Game Pass! Even better.
Just to make sure I understood correctly, the version of Rise we are getting is the version that has the charge blade and gunlance fixes right?
I played on switch and I want to run through with something that isn't the LS lmao. It's a toss up between GL, CB, and SA
Make sure to give your pets better gear I’m in high rank and they had lvl 1 gear also don’t give up on magnamalo I finally found a good team and we easily beat him also try new weapons ranged weapons made the game easier for me
thanks for the really useful guide, its helped a ton! btw whats the song playing in the background starting at 11:22?
I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THE TREE IN THE BUDDY PLAZA
Yoo I never knew about that cahoot nest in the buddy plaza
@@Willow4526maybe cause the Xbox controller is more intuitive and comfortable compared to switch ?
How do we get the Champion weapons ?
That's what I'm saying lol
Strange, I didn't get the Guild armor, only layered and I didn't get the Legacy Talisman or the cosmetics for my cat and doggo. I also don't have the champion weapons.
I'm already near the end anyway, but it's still weird.
12hrs Into this game I had no idea there was a submarine, or that whole area lol. I just wanted to explore the maps and get to fighting lol. I've missed playing monster hunter such a great game
May i suggest world its also an amazing game
@Sandor Nagy I have played world a bunch lol. It is a great game too. Just been awhile since I've played it. Recently I found out how much I love the insect glaive as well lol. Really fun weapon once you get the hang of it lol.
Can't upload/transfer from switch...
Years of academy training wasted...
@@BLOODKINGbro oh I know right, I am already fairly geared on switch. I just play with my gf and switch had connectivity issues when playing together. She would constantly drop during hunts on local connections. Switch is just a pokémachine now.
Play Whit all weapons for know what is going to be your best choice
Thank you i was alittle lost even coming from iceborne
I'm very sad that they do not allow you to show combos. I have a buddy whose never played and I'm gonna have to refer him to a TH-cam video just to really figure out combos. Wait did he just recommend using the more less defender set for new players? I seriously hope I'm mistaken. I mean I'd hate to recommend someone to the more less defender set. This was the biggest mistake I ever made in world because I could just tank any hit didn't allow me to learn anything. So looked it up. I know chain mail is a very first craft able armor and you have a defense of 20 and he's recommending new players with armor rating defense of 120.
Personally i thought defender set is way stronger than the guild one
I guess maybe very super tiny spoilers
Is what you said around 2:50 why theres credits after a really low rank?
I got this on switch near launch and have rebought it on ps5, and somehow never knew about the cohoot nest
I wish i could transfer my data so I can play with friends who aren’t on switch. Monster hunter needs cross play😤
Their monster selection for MH Rise/Sunbreak is sooooo goooood
besides elders. They could do without the teostra/kushala in every single game. They did make new ones with ibushi and narwa so cant complain too much, but imo those fights are pretty dogwater boring. Otherwise the variety of wyverns is pretty good, wish they added brachydios just to get a little more brute in there.
Don't use the guild cross armor it's the Defender armor equivalent
I mean some people want to power through to make sure they're strong enough for sunbreak so to eschew their own
Why bother struggle bugging it, when you can have a set to carry you to the first set you will actually want?
listen to this guy is you dont want the game to be over in 5 hours. Replies are retards stay away from speedrunning
I have 2 copy of MHR for my switch (one is from my brother)... so no cross save, great, i'm going to cry somewhere
The game just came out How did you level up SOOO FAST?
are the event quests repeatable or only 1-time mission(s)/quest(s)??
To brand new players: If you want to feel the magical Monster Hunter-like progression, then DO NOT equip the 'Guild Cross armor'!!! If you really suck at the game, sure you can use it. Other than that, it's just killing the game's main purpose.
You are wrong the guild cross set is better than hr 3 set . The real game begins at hr 4
Played a hour on ps5 and it feel different and looks better then pc and switch
Does monster hunter rise have access to all decorations on PS4? Like the kushala decoration ?
So is the Guild Cross set supposed to be like the Guardian set? Or is it just good armor? Either way Ill still check out the set.
Yeah, it's a set of higher stat and better skilled armor that make the game easier, so you can get through the story a bit easier/faster. Same with the weapons, they do more damage/more sharpness.
The gamepass thing. No you get no discount unfortunately....and if you have it on steam you cant crosssave with xbox or the gamepass pc version.
U know i did not know u could climb up the back of the shrine tree in the buddy plaza
Nice! Now explain please, how to get an option to have Champion Dual Blades. Because it is one of ten things I NEED to know before playing MFR. My screen looks different and I am a new player. If you want to help then please help.
Seriously
@@dreamergaming7772 that's not helping
Apparently, from what I've read, you need to get the sunbreak expansion pack, which is unavailable until spring for all consoles except for PC and, of course, Switch
@@LukahnTheMan Thank you. Now I can stop roaming through the village and asking every single character about my Champions weapon. And I also know that I don't need any more tips from this guide. Have a nice game.
Do you get the champion weapons in base rise too? And if so, how?
i’m trying to figure that out
Same, can't see them hahaha.
@@luistijerina1164 still dont see them 😩
They are tied to the sunbreak expansion, which I find to be absolute bullshit
ive been playing this game since it launched on switch and had zero idea how to zoom my camera out because they changed it in this game, and most videos on this games camera never once shows this, so thanks hollow now i can be a better hunter
Bah. Don’t be a baby about it. Start from scratch. It’s already the most forgiving monster hunter. You definitely don’t need the guild or defender armor to breeze through like 90% of base Rise.
Fr man the guild armour is op and not fun
I personally went with HR Izuchi armor and HH and only shaped at Valstrax
@@shindoushuichi0287 It's not that deep dude. It's a video game. People play video games to have fun.
Are the event quests timed like from MHW, and then comes back eventually? I got all of them from the courier, but had a sudden thought since they were many and I’m still trying to rank up more.
permanent and can be repeated
@@KinaRoriYes! Thank you!
Hey, so, the Champion weapons are not in the game as of right now on PS5
I'm on lvl 2 hunts, I saw the downloadable content but didn't bother with it... now imma bother with it 😅
Any tips on getting used to wirebugs? Lol. The curve was easy for me but my friend coming from world-borne HATES wirebugs...
Honestly mybtos had the same problem. I don't really get that problem and played 1000+ hours on WorldBorne...
My bro got it better by just 'toying around'. Guess it's a time based thing making it comfortable
how do you get the champion weapons i cant find them
I definitely wouldn't recommend using the gear shown or any of the defender weapons
Freeze. (Yes, I even have all settings at the lowest settings)
The fact that they haven't released an update in the first week to address any of these issues is infuriating. I was able to play World with friends from day 1. How couldn't the Rise team call up the World team and be like, "Hey, how'd you get multiplayer working on Consoles? We plan to release Rise over there."
Currently 2/5 rating. I love the new weapon and armor varieties, the monster variety, but I hate this game on the sluggish core mechanics and previously listed issues.
Is Sunrise coming to Xbox? The screenshot shown only showed the Spring 2023 for PS4/5
Can't upload/transfer from switch...
Years of academy training wasted...
What about that amibo layered armor set? Are we going to see it
Nah PC didn't get that either (officially anyway) pretty sure you won't be seeing those on any other platform.
Wait, so does console also get all the new switch skills from sunbreak?
How did you got the champion dual blade weapon?
If we bought it on Steam does that count as windows? And if so, how do we access the save data? 🤔
No. He purposely didn’t say steam at all. Steam will not cross save with anything and that sucks.
my palico and dog are both level 17 and i still havent got the skill option
How do I get champion weapon series ?
Where do I get the champion blades? I can't find em
So there’s no cross save between the Pc version (Steam) to the Xbox version? It only works between pc version (Xbox store) to Xbox??
Has it been announced whether or not Sunbreak will be coming to gamepass as well?
Probably not, I don’t think iceborne came to game pass
If you have to buy the game, wait a few months for the Sunbreak release. The base game will likely already end up on sale by then.
Nah man sunbreak will probably release in 3-4 months I doubt it will get a sale. And if you wait you will rush through base rise which will be no fun and you can't grind metirals
No dont listen to this person in order to play the dlc u need to be high level get the game now its only 40 dollars
@@jonathanbiller2029 yeah I’m getting it on p5. Thanks for this
