Still looks great, no sun fade so far but it has limited exposure: I park my Jeep in the garage, it's not my DD and the top has been on for the winter and is now off for the summer and is covered in my yard so it's not really being tested.
@@garbinator09 I worked at a boat rental in south florida for a few years and we painted everything with AWL GRIP using a foam roller and tipping it down with a foam brush, it's amazing paint. Good luck!!
Good video only suggestion i have to other people is to wipe it down with a acetone soaked rag to make sure its stripped of all grease and armorall/silicone
Little late now don’t yah think? Meaning, your projects done deal… I have the 05 TJ Kaki color, I have not found one how to video on renewing my hardtop. Boat videos indicate gel coating. While Jeep apparently has Non Identifiable coating. Even though our tops are fiberglass. Black resto for jeeps is all I have seen. Frustrating 😮
@@garbinator09 ha, too late for me, but he was suggesting to other people and I appreciate him doing it! I did not have any armorall or silicon on my top, it cleaned up very well with degreaser and brillo and still looks great. The process to paint your top should be the same, just a different color but the same thing otherwise. I believe this is the correct color code for your top www.paintscratch.com/touch_up_paint/Jeep/2006-Jeep-Wrangler-Dark-Khaki-Hard-top-matt-ZJ8.html they have sprays and there are some good videos about that, but if you want to roll it like I did I'd go to Sherwin Williams or another paint store, tell them how you intend to use it and have them mix up a quart for you. They can thin it or whatever they think it needs too. Good luck with it!!
How's it looking 9 months later?

@@ColoradoOverland - I’ve been looking at fiberglass boat video to learn how I might make my 05 hardtop look really spiffy!
@@ColoradoOverland The real issue, is not being able to identify specific Mopar paint used on Jeep Fiber Glass tops.
