Armstrong Tru-Trac AT $389.00 for 4 Overland Offroad All Terrain Tires
มุมมอง 1.9K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Armstrong Tru-Trac ATs are the best deal I've found for overland tires, I paid $389.00 total to my door from simpletire.com. We've gotten about 30k from Hankook Dynapros, Falken Wildpeak AT3 and Cooper Discoverer ATPs, all good tires but so far I like these better. They have done well on pavement, dirt and gravel so far, can't wait to try them in the snow! #armstrong #overland #tires

Jeep Rear Brake Pads Jingling Sound on Bumps
มุมมอง 282 หลายเดือนก่อน
I have a jingling sound on bumps like keys or coins from the rear of my Jeep that is typical of disc brake wear. My pads and rotors are not heavily worn, the calipers are functioning well and are not the issue; the hardware is worn down and rusted and the clip holding the inner pad to the piston is rusted and failing, causing the pad to move around too much and make noise. My rotors are still g...
Jeep Rear Sway Bar Links & Bushings - Metallic Sound on Bumps - Remove & Replace - MOOG Upgrade
มุมมอง 502 หลายเดือนก่อน
When I hit a bump my Jeep makes a metallic sound in the rear. It was the rear sway bar, the bushings holes were worn from circles to eggs and the link bushings were similar. The rear links are made from plastic, which hasn't been a problem but offends me anyway. The MOOG parts are fantastic, metal instead of plastic and polyurethane instead of rubber. It's a great upgrade and the rear of my Jee...

You left out how to remove the top bolt on the heat shield, that lets you remove the shield, out of the way so you can get the starter out ??? TH-cam always leaving people hung up. Always have to take all these posters on youtube, with a grain of salt, for sure
If you watch the video you will see that @2:07 I remove the starter with the heat shield still in place, I just took out the lower bolts to allow it to move. Before that @0:23 you can see me move the shield to show the access it gives with the upper bolt still attached. The upper is really tough to get to and you do not need to remove it, you'd just be making extra work for yourself. Sounds like you're having a tough time, I get that, this **** get me pissed off sometimes too. It's a tight space and you're under the car, that can be a bear for all of us. Hang in there, you'll get it!!
Can you add the links to the products and tools? Thanks great video
I just added the links, I thought I had done that but I guess I forgot to save it or something. Sorry and thank you for pointing it out!!
Just ordered a puller after spending an hour trying to remove that bolt lol ridiculous
It can be a bear to remove and it's a tough angle for a hammer. I hope it goes better with the puller!!
@@ColoradoOverland 3 hour of hammering vs 30 seconds with the puller lol, no contest. But its all done! Thank you for the video guide!
Great info video on upgrade version 👌
Thank you Sir!!
you are the best.
Thank you!!! I'm glad it helped!!
Did they arrive all at once ? Or did the get spaced out on shipping
All at once and a day early. I had a good experience with simpletire.com across the board.
Brother, thanks.❤
I'm glad it helped, thank you!!
I'm looking for tires to put on my Xterra. Thanks. I'll check these out.
How long the bushings last?
years and years usually, possibly the life of the vehicle depending on driving habits and environment. our Xterra sees a lot of trails and watercrossings so things wear out quicker than usual.
@@ColoradoOverland ok thanks for your buddy
Engine builder here…… great with engines not so great with electrical anything. Your video was like hitting the TH-cam jackpot! Boom Battery or Alternator done deal. Wam bam thank you Man! Quick. To the point. Coherent knowledge. Super generous! Thank You!
Thank you, so glad it was useful! I appreciate you taking the time to say that, Sir.
This worked a treat, thank you!!
Thank you, that's great!!
This exact problem happened to me out of nowhere, fixed it in the parking lot! Thanks
It happenned to me the same way, I know the feeling and I'm so glad it worked out for you!! Thank you!
I have a Xterra with the C200K and the rear failed about 1.5 yrs ago. The shop replaced the Ring and Pinion, and one month ago had noise and they replaced the Spider Gears. Now after about 5 weeks, I am hearing noise ago, coming from the rear differential. Could this problem be improper repair?
Sounds like bad gear setup to me but it's hard to say. Have you seen this from All Dogs? www.alldogsoffroad.com/ado-bbl-c200k-limited-slip-differential-for-nissan-c200k-rear It's new, no reviews yet, but I'm very interested for my Xterra and hope to get one next year. If yours gets to the point of replacing the carrier I'd look into it. Good luck!
@@ColoradoOverland Have not seen that. TY very much.
good info thanks! So some of the 226 have the locker, and some don't?
If you have the PRO4X package with either a manual or automatic transmission you have the locker, if it's a manual without the PRO4X package it's an M226 open, and if it's an automatic without the PRO4X package you have a C200K. Easiest way to tell is if you have a locker switch on the dash.
@@ColoradoOverland awesome thanks for the free knowledge! I have a 6 speed manual not pro4x, and yep, no locker switch.
Man, thank so much for sharing these videos with all the info displayed on "the dash". I get to follow along in my Colorado Road & Rec Atlas and imagine being there. cheers from New England
Thank you!! Unfortunately the program I used for that is obsolete now. I have a replacement but it's buggy, hope to use it more going forward. Thanks again!!
My car won’t reverse goes into gear but won’t reverse it’s a 2006 Nissian xterra please help
Start simple and check your fluid level. You can find videos on here about how to do that, it's easy. Often low fluid will cause it not to have enough pressure to shift to reverse, hopefully that's your issue. Good luck!!
The best upgrade for my M226 was installing the Titan aluminum differential cover, resealing, and using quality synthetic gear oil. We tow a 5200 lb travel trailer several times a year without issue. Our next upgrade is going to be the Eaton Trutrac.
Nice upgrade! too bad there isn't a temp sensor in the diff so you could see how much effect the cover has. I have trutracs front and rear in my Jeep and they are fantastic, invisible on the street and solid traction on the trail. If they made one for the C200K my Xterra would have it.
Would you recommend this as a fall color drive?
It is an EPIC fall color trail! The picture on my channel is from there. The whole Fourmile Area is stunning, and Marshall Pass to the south or Weston Pass to the north are fantastic for colors too.
@@ColoradoOverland thanks
Apparently i am not the only one who was having this problem and yes it was exactly what I need to know.. you sir are a hero 🙌 👏 🙏
Thank you!! I'm glad it helped and I appreciate you saying that.
Is there a good way of taking these clips back out without destroying it?
Not that I know of. I don't think they are designed for clean removal, once the tabs have opened that's it. Good luck with it!!
Great video, thanks for the help
Glad it helped, thank you!!
hey mate. did it have the desired effect (reduced squeaking?). what are your thoughts on removing the sway bar altogether? i imagine it improves rear flex, while introducing more sway and on road instability, but i've never tried it myself.
It did work as expected and I have the rear sway bar connected on both our Xterra and our trail Jeep. On the Jeep the rear bar is so small that disconnecting it (I tried unbolting it / bungee cording it up for a trail run) it doesn't have much if any effect offroad but helps out quite a bit on road, I really felt the sway above 15mph or so with the front connected and rear bungeed up. I have not tried the Xterra without it.
Thanks man!
You are welcome and thank you for saying that!!
thank you i almost bought the Dorman´s
Awesome, hope it works as well for you as is has for me! Thanks!
Love being able to read all that info on your hood. Subscribed just for that alone. cheers
Thank you!! I appreciate you saying that. :)
Just wonder if this are defected or that’s the way they are
I guess you mean the bottom one I removed? That one was much looser than the other three and for sure was the problem but they all had some degree of mobility.
Hi I bought exactly the same ones before you installed it can you move the pin up and down because mine they move up and down
makes me miss the old 300-6 even more. the plugs were right there.
Agreed. A sort of good thing about this over-involved process is that it inspires you to buy the best plugs and coils you can to avoid doing it again anytime soon.
It just happened to my frontier I followed your video it doesn’t work on mine, gear plastic stuff broken I reinforced mine with double zip ties gear cable it holds really good.Tested shift without any problem.
Nice work!! There's not a lot of force there, i bet the zip ties are strong enough to be a permanant fix. You should make a video of your fix!
This really helped except where to place the leads on the alternator. Trying to fix my grandchild's car so she can move to Colorado! patsy
You do not change where the leads are, just leave them on the battery, R+ / B-. The current flows through the leads and battery, that flow is what you are reading when you check the alternator. It's reading the output of the alternator which is how the battery is charged and how your car makes spark when it's running. I really HTH! Best of luck with the car and she's going to LOVE Colorado!!
@@ColoradoOverland Thank you! I figured it out when I used the Multi Meter.
How's it looking 9 months later?
Still looks great, no sun fade so far but it has limited exposure: I park my Jeep in the garage, it's not my DD and the top has been on for the winter and is now off for the summer and is covered in my yard so it's not really being tested.
@@ColoradoOverland - I’ve been looking at fiberglass boat video to learn how I might make my 05 hardtop look really spiffy!
@@ColoradoOverland The real issue, is not being able to identify specific Mopar paint used on Jeep Fiber Glass tops.
@@garbinator09 I worked at a boat rental in south florida for a few years and we painted everything with AWL GRIP using a foam roller and tipping it down with a foam brush, it's amazing paint. Good luck!!
Worked like a charm took less than a minute 🎉
Awesome!!!
I have a 08 Silverado Lt extended cab 1500 5.3. it cranks but no start, I purchased the 7 function multimeter from harbor freight. Hopefully with that multimeter i can be able to check what is draining my battery and also see why it won't turn on.

You are so lucky to live in Gunnison, it's such a great place! Have fun on the trail and stay safe!!
Very helpful. Avid hiker but not taking my Corolla up there.
Thank you!! You could make it to the first parking area, a lot of people start the hike from there.
You think a Subaru can get up there? What about small off road campers?
I had a 2012 Forester for a while and if it was me I'd do it, maybe try it without the camper once first? this is an older video but the trail is basically unchanged th-cam.com/video/zO6AR0b0hRI/w-d-xo.html
@@ColoradoOverland I’ve been up there once before, it’s just that first big hill I worry about but I have a titan to pull the camper. Tryin to plan a trip with a buddy who has a Subaru.. fuck his Subaru, it’s old and he has money.. Imma tell him he’ll be fine. He needs a bronco anyway..
How much should i torque these bolts ? And yea, i agree, nice to see the sizes shown. Thanks
Thank you!! I believe it is 35ft/lbs for all but I'd look in the literature that comes with it. Good luck!!!
Is the sway bar an alternate drinking establishment?
that's funny, I'm going to use that down the road! Thank you!!
Thanks
Thank you too!! :)
Mate you are Legendary 💪😎🫡 thank you for sharing your knowledge 😎 Cheers Matt
Thank you!!!!!
What does it mean if the voltage drops to 8.5 while starting but the other two readings are good? It's a jeep JKU. Before starting mine's at 12.6 and after starting it's around 13.xx.
sounds like your battery is losing Cold Craking Amps, it's one of the ways batteries age. Have you tried using a pulse repair charger? You can search that on amazon, they are not expensive and can sometimes repair CCA issues. Good luck, hope you don't have to replace it!
@@ColoradoOverland thanks so much for taking time for your comment. I'll take a look that.

Thank you so much for saying that, you made my day! :)
Are the bearings on the c200k pressed on the shafts?
the unit bearing is pressed on the shaft and if it fails is is a bear to remove. they rarely fail though, it's a strong unit.
The route you describe isn't clear. The road following Cebolla Creeek begins in Powderhorn and ends at Route 149. It doesn't go over Los Pinos Pass. If you 're starting at Los Pinos Pass you're driving along some other creek. Video appears to end at Rt. 149 not Cebolla Creek.
