Wow. This looks really great. Thanks for letting us know you can work with a textured hardtop rather than replacing it. My son has a 2016 4 door JK/Sport in the Rhino color and giving it a more monochromatic look by body coloring the fenders and hardtop is the way to go. The one exception is maybe painting the top portion of the hardtop a white or light color to minimize the effect of Texas sun and heat. Also, I would be inclined to do all the prep work and let a body shop do the paint since i have no real experience (or equipment) for that end of the job. My Festool sanders with dust extraction will work well on removing the texture. Again, thank you so much for showing how to do this.
Looks great, my wife wanted the Geko to go with our old Orange Crush JK, but not avail when we got around to looking. That is sweet, when the top on the JK needs paint, I think body color is the way to go, that looks great! Good Job and you earned a new subscriber.

What would you charge for hard top and fenders? Curious what this would cost as i have no paint experience nor do I want to buy a bunch of stuff to do it my self. I have a compressor my self but I doubt its big enough to paint and I dont use it enough already.
Totally bad ass makes it look sweet color matching all them parts one of a kind look the lift and the big bad ass wheels will set it off with a killer look

I 100% agree you can't see any shade difference. My eye usually catches even a frog hair of difference in shade. Not on this one. Color match matches. Nicely done Ryan.
Ryan you are such an inspiration to do it yourself I own a 2019 ram 1500 crew cab 4x4 me and my dad installed a 3in front puck and a 2in puck rear cause I tow but I want more like a zone 6in lift and the install the puck and then put a 3in body lift that's 12in just in lift for bigger tiers put I haven't seen anyone do it just funds are in short supply in my house I tow a 7x16 enclosed trailer
I have an 02 that I'm going to repaint the top and some trim panels and was gonna do a character for my pops on the top but an American flag would be dope too

I sanded it down with 180 to remove the texture and applied primer surfacer. Then sanded it down with 400, 600, and 800. I removed the glass from the hardtop before I painted it. It's time consuming but looks better than textured black.
Man I wish I had a set on me like you do 🤣🤣 the one thing my channels always lacking is body work and paint on every build, mainly the duramax k30 recently. This has inspired me pretty much to finally think about the dreaded B word lol killer work as usual man!!
I understand and like the black accents but I really think color matching the gas tank inside bezel and then like a billet gas cap would really set off that side
I am trying to do the same w my gladiator I know you said 400 fenderttop and 120 /180 for the rear. Can you list the primer you r using and with you r mixing in with and the amount. Thanks for sharing so many ppl said it couldn’t/ shouldn’t do it.

A paintable mopar hard top is $3,400 unpainted. This is definitely the way to go and save!

I painted the inside of my hard top with a black bedliner paint,looks alot better then the white it came with.
Looks great but looked like it was missing arms? I assume you're bodymatching the fenders as well or just hadn't reinstalled the black one's yet.
