thank you for all these tips i am a senior and after seeing your tips it is so obvious it all makes sence and my handicap is getting better thanks again Allan
David told me this on our lesson a week ago 👏👏 , I have never felt more comfortable and confident over the short putts played 3 rounds since and haven’t missed one short putt 😊😊
I always practice 2 foot and 3 foot putts on the practice green. Never any longer distance. I'm never stressed about short putts on the course. Another major thing that many people do that makes them pull short putts is.... they turn their head to watch the roll Before the ball is struck. That causes the shoulders to turn to the inside ever so slightly which makes the putter face close. Try this yourself, take your putting posture, keep the putter behind the ball, do not move the putter, now turn your head 10 degrees towards the target, feel how your shoulders turn a bit. 😮 There's your putt pull.
It’s good to hear someone is practicing the shot you’re going to get the most in a round of golf, those 2 to 3 footers, that’s why your not stressed about them
Before implementing this tip I was absolutely bricking it over 3 footers. Now, I may still miss the odd on, but my expectation is that I will make them all.
Putting is a minefield . Im very much in the jordan spieth camp , anything over six foot and im either leaving it an inch out or its going in , inside six foot and im leaving it four foot past or two foot short 🙈 Hit an 81 yesterday with 4 doubles all of which were 3 putts from short , the up and downs balanced it out but i still came away thinking i need to master those 3-4 ft misses , especially if im there because of a bad read or over/underhit its very easy to be shaken and get over them without pause , I rely on up and downs in my game for a low card and for that you need confidence and discipline with a putter and a second putt 4 footer kills me every time .
Thank you for watching, I hope this video has helped. I have also recently done a video on making less 3 putts, here is the link - th-cam.com/video/lzvi-8K19FM/w-d-xo.html
Many pro's believe that what you teach is EXACTLY the wrong way to putt. Aim for the center reduces your margin for error by 100 percent. Add Jack Nicklaus to that list who just admitted in a TH-cam video that he was an aim for one edge only putter just like he did with his drives. Michael Breed teaches this as well. Lift closes the blade on a tilted plane stroke so these people lift through the ball AND THAT IS NOT FOR GOOD ROLL. Nicklaus on the other hand "cut" the ball in and he showed how he did it that video. Jack too pointed out it doubles the margin for error.
The great thing with golf is there are many ways to achieve the results you want, in my mind Jack is the greatest golfer there has ever been, and his methods show they work for him. For me and the majority of my lessons have found success with this idea in this video, give it a go and see which works better for you
@@TheResourcefulCoach I have and they both work. But for the truly skilled putter already, the edge method is superior. These are people who know they will ALWAYS hook or cut the putt every time. It really does double the margin for error when that is the case. Stan Utley also endorses this method for some people. I think he uses it. Did you ever notice a lot of unskilled players who hook their short putts something awful make more than accomplished players ? Now you know why. They just hook 'em in with a big margin for error twice the size.
Often you end up very close to the straight putt because the ball will find the lowest point on the green. Please watch my video on Green Reading to help you develop this skill
really great mental aiming tip for short putts
Thank you , have clarity on your thinking and you’ll hole more putts
it's amazing how many short putts we can miss. THIS lesson is exactly the reason. That right edge putt was me all day.
Thank you for watching - make sure you check out my other latest putting video - th-cam.com/video/lzvi-8K19FM/w-d-xo.html

this is such a great tip !
Thank you, it will save you shots
Very good, thank you!
Thank you, it's the shot in golf you'll play the most so keep practicing it and developing your skills.

Thanks John, after our lesson it gave me the idea for the video
This is exactly what I have been doing.
Give this technique a go and you’ll hole more short putts
Great advice, thanks David.

Glad the video has made a difference
my golf course has holes that could have 6”+ of break on a three footer….keeping it “inside the hole” is a miss every time…
You have greens the average club player can't play on.
Simple, but very effective 👍
Thank you for watching!
Good point! Takes a bit of bottle on a fast, downhill slider though.
Thank you for watching!
Great tip.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching.
good info
Brilliant, please enjoy my green reading video

Too simple. Helpful.
The best things in this game are the simplest ones

Obviously it’s much easier when you have straight putts, just like you had in the vid.
