I adopted the 3/4 swing because of this video, and after a month I can share this. I’ve never been this accurate with driver. I hit 12/14 fairways on Sunday, and I was averaging 240 yards. I’m only giving up about 30 yards of distance from my full swing, but I was only hitting 6/14 fairways before. Definitely a huge improvement for me. Thank you, Danny!!!!
Danny, thank you for this lesson. You’ve shown this swing in some of your live lessons and I’ve been practicing this all year. Last year I was driving the ball 200 yards. With your lessons, my average drive is now 250-260 yards, and last week I hit one down the middle 292 yards! It feels so awesome hitting gap wedges into the green instead of long irons. Thank you for doing all that you do. You’ve made this game so much fun for me. Sincerely, Jaret
Not seeing a swing my 1st thought would be you are rotating and not releasing where you should. I started golf about 3 years ago. I am in my mid 60’s and a smallish man, I could use ladies clubs. I carry about 235 typically. My best drives are in the 265-275 range.
This is the lesson that will increase your enjoyment of the game. What I have found is being attentive to the set up - following Danny’s method that he illustrates superbly here - and then picking two tiny targets works. Tiny target 1 on the horizon where you want the ball to go and then tiny target 2 on the the ball on the tee. The manufacturers helpfully print stuff on the ball to help you with that lads !
I’m 74, and actually discovered most of this by accident one morning on the range. My drives are as long or longer than ever, and the greater part of them right down the middle. I feel so much more confident over the ball now, this truly works.
@@DanielMaudeI also have been swinging shorter and having most drives down the middle and 225 yards long. This video helps lot improving my short swing. 77 years young!
Danny, this lesson resonated with and I truly did gain about 50 yards. I had struggled with turning too much in the back swing for years which made for a frustrating time. On occasion I would hit those 290 yard bombs but not often and most of the time I either lost the ball left or sliced. This honestly seemed to fix that. After seeing this and playing 9 holes I hit every fairway and was somewhere between 260-290 each time. This is a game changer for me. Need some more time at the range but really enjoyed this. There are well known golf training companies that have not been able to articulate what you did in this video. Incredibly pleased!!
Danny, utter genius the way you have deconstructed things moving backwards from ball flight to point of contact on the ball, using a soccer ball as an enlarged concept, and tracing it back to swing path/hand/club face position. Award-winning breakdown. Love it!
Great video again Danny. I am 84 and already have a short backswing that I developed using same logic as you gave your student. Just take club back and bring it back on same plane square to the ball and line, something like the Iron Byron. I can still hit the ball as far as the guys in my 4-some who are 15 years younger and often shoot under my age. I used to get comments and questions about why my backswing was so short, but not so much now! I am sure many viewers will benefit from this video!
Thanks Danny, I put my phone with your video playing on my local driving range with blue tooth connected for the sound, what a difference to my drive, taking on board your instructions, wow !
Danny - i’ve spent my whole life slicing and putting as much strength as possible in to my swings. A couple years ago i took a set of lessons and worked out my in to out swing path but was still struggling with consistency. The way you describe and simplify what’s important in a swing has been instrumental for me taking huge strides in just a few months. the last two rounds i shot my lowest score ever at 82, then lowered it again a week later with a 78. your instruction style speaks to me, and i’m grateful. thanks for the content 🫡
I think you are the best online teacher...I try things that bring forth and they work for me a lot of the time. This is one that I need help with for sure. I'm breaking 90 every time out these days. 85 is a PAR day but anything below that is like shooting under par for me. If I could take more advantage of the par 5's, I know shooting in the 70's is possible for me. I've just got to get 265+ yards worth of distance every single time in the fairway. Anyway, I appreciate what you do ..

Great video Danny. Most of the better senior golfers I play with have moved to a flatter, Hoganesque type swing. So much more compact and repeatable. I am 63 and still hit my driver around 250 on average with the swing you are teaching here.
This really resonated with me Danny. I have religiously followed all your videos & tried most of your advice & swing methods. As an older golfer after two back ops!…yesterday I naturally shortened my swing when playing…and then I opened your video today & fantastic, it reinforced everything, thank you. Hope I can maintain good results.
Suffered a back injury in 2001, I stopped playing golf. Returned to the fairways about three years ago but have struggled with consistency on my drives (a lot of slicing) and do not have the flexibility I once had. Watched this video and headed down to the driving range this morning to give it a try. Adopted the techniques in the video and my distance and accuracy definitely improved. That dreaded slice was nowhere near as bad. Headed up to my golf course this afternoon for a quick 9 holes and the improvement was awesome. Out of the 7 drives, 5 were straight down the fairway. The other 2 were straight but got under them a bit and got a bit too much height. Hoping that the improvements continue. Thanks Danny.
I just did this drill and hit the most effortless right down the middle of the fairway drives ever. Thank you so much for all you do to help us become better at golf.
Danny, I joined your academy last week and have been viewing lessons non-stop. You are a fantastic instructor!!!!!!! For the first time in years, I am motivated to practice and play. When you were talking about where you wanted to strike the gold ball, it reminded me of an instructor that was all about the stack and tilt. I lost yardage, speed, and range of motion. He also wanted me to focus and inch in front of the ball. I'll finally get to my question, which is, where is your focus when striking the ball........ irons, fairway woods, and driver. Thanks again
Thank you Danny. This lesson was tried and tested this morning and I have gained average 30 yards. It also feels less effort. Must admit that a couple of drives leaked to the right to start with but once I angled my wrists correctly it was a game changer. Brilliant lesson. Thank you.
I tried this at the range today didn’t top the ball once and added 15 to 20 yards to my drives. I still need some practice but this really made a difference thank you
Hello Danny...Greetings from Kenya Nairobi....thank you for your easy to understand tips that make us enjoy the game of golf....thank you again and keep up your food work......i have sent you a little token of appreciation... your my number 1. Golf instructor on TH-cam..👏🏾👍🏾
Use this video yesterday to help my driver. I was hitting the middle of the fairways, plus I cranked out two drives over 270 yards. My normal driving average is around 230 yards. Just like some other students of yours, I always say thank you Danny Maude after a great shot.👍👍😂
Got to say I love this lesson. You keep things so simple and easy without all the mumbo jumbo. I really focused on tempo on the last few holes yesterday, similar to what you did here and my length and accuracy increased. Great job, great teaching
A great DRILL to find the 3/4's "slot" backswing position (if, like me, you were prone to over swinging with the arms and have trouble at first toning down the backswing): START the backswing with the CH drawn back (quiet wrists, no forearm rotation) about 2 feet on the swing arc; if address is roughly 90 degrees the shaft will be about 45 degrees and the CH still pretty low. Get in this position, and from there swing to the top. This drill gets me to that nice position Danny talks about in this video. It really helped me develop a feel for where this position is & how to find it reliably. If you're not self-conscious about what others think, you can even play golf starting the swing from this position. I'm 5 ft. 7", 64 Y.O, and carry the driver 220 to 230 yards. Danny helped me with my driver swing in the past by video.
Thank you so much for these easy to follow videos! I'm 54 and have increased my swing speed a lot over past 2 years watching Bryson videos. Between you two. I've increased my distance to an easy 280ish. Gym work has also made it much easier. Thank you so much!
Thanks for another video here, Danny. I'm 34 and just starting out. I was driving low/straight, and probably 100 yards carry on a good swing. After watching a few of your videos here, I've managed 200 yards but with a huge slice often. I am looking forward to practicing this to hopefully eliminate that slice! Thanks again.
Danny This is the best video I ever watched. Thank you so much as I gave up trying to hit my driver with my feet parallel to the ground. I have to keep my lead foot about 6 to 8 inches back and when I hit the ball it goes straight as an arrow. I am going to the driving range today to see if I can finally hit a ball straight with a proper stance. But the prove in the pudding is on the course :) Thank you again Ralph
Danny, long time subscriber. Thank you for the great lessons. Your instructions are to the point and easy to follow. As a 67 yr. old, not as flexible as I use to be, your instructions should eliminate/minimize my side spin.
I’m 60 been playing since January last year. I’m a 26 handicap and have been struggling with a fade and slice thus only about 170 to 180 yds. Practiced this lesson yesterday and today. Now hitting it straight 210 to 220 carry. Very pleased indeed.
This lesson actually worked for me. I went and played 9 holes the next day after watching this and every hole I hit driver and 3W, the ball went further and straight. Last time I played this same course I was hitting around 200-210. Yesterday, 250-255. I couldn’t believe it. Still need to play more to see if it sticks but after 1 round, I’m impressed.
Great advice! I started doing this when my ball striking goes bad and it's helped tremendously. Now I'm starting each training session with a few whacks of a ball like this. Interestingly, I then applied the same thing to my putter and it worked great. Much straighter putts with a shorter takeaway.
The effect of just tilting the shoulders is enormous. Combined with the shorter back swing to avoid funny angles and chicken wings is the key for me to get more control over the little white thing. Thanks a lot :-)
This actually works! I kept blocking my driver to the extent that I stopped using it. I tried the longer extension, feeling like I had more width with a straighter left arm and the results were almost instant. Great video!
I would fly to England or wherever you are to take a lesson!! You explain it so simply. It looks so easy! I especially like the wrist explanation, I think I do exactly what you are saying to get that extra power. Instead I’m losing power. I just purchased a used Mizuno ST Max 9.5 degree for my birthday yesterday, I can’t wait to go try this move at the range. If I could carry 220-230 I would be over the moon! Thank you Danny
Thanks for the great tips,I went to a shortened backswing almost 30 years ago. I had developed a terrible slice and found the easiest way for me to remedy it was to shorten my backswing enough that i wasn't opening the club face as much as i couldn't seem to close it before impact. I am by no means a good golfer but I do hit driver much straighter since, just need to get some yardage out of it.
Danny, I can’t wait to try this. I’ve been a slicer forever, but the last 5-6 years it’s been really bad. Lots of OBS and no distance whatsoever. I went from a reliable 210-220 yard fade to no distance and not knowing what my ball is going to do off the tee.
One of the things I love about Danny is he gives me the tools to diagnose and fix my swing while playing. When I make my mistakes I have a great idea of what happened and how I need to change.
I have the exact same swing flaw due to lack of flexibility. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get a full swing to not chicken wing. I started trying a shorter swing and I'm hitting it so much better now. This video really connected with me. Thanks.
You make the golf swing look so easy. Your tips are always top notch. I try to watch your videos based on what I'm struggling with before I play. Absolutely brilliant. Thanks as always Danny.
It's great when the science matches up. As a beginner it was too much of stretch to just TRUST what the pro was telling me. I spent years over swinging on the range, until learning recently that what I thought was a stinger for the wind was basically the shot you're displaying above. The prob for 90% of folk is failure to accept that less is more. Something I still trouble with, and occasionally fall back into, mid round, yet by the same token, often play better in the wind, if you follow. Great work Danny Maude.
Just a superb and simple video Danny, thank you so much! I feel the longer my swing gets the less control I have and the more inconsistency in my driver. What you describe here can help me get the additional distance and directional control that I desire to bring my game to the next level. Thank you!
This is a great video it makes so much more sense than a lot of other videos I’ve seen. Can’t wait to try this at the range . I have been hitting over the top and topping the ball I think this will help tremendously. Thank you
I've been told to swing in to out rather than outside to inside (slice swing) but no one ever showed me the real mechanics of how to do that. This video fixes that! I have to be careful not to overdo it or swing too flat. You have GREAT videos! 😊
Lol... I went to driving range this morning and was hitting it 200 yards with a massive slice. And after watching this video, I think I was trying to force my swing beyond my flexibility. As a 50+ year old newbie, I have to remember, I can't twist the way I used to. I wonder if that is happening with my irons?? Let's see how tomorrow goes after watching your instruction. (I'm imagining immediate rusults, of course... :) ). Thanks, as always, for the great content.
Absolutely brilliant!! I thought I'd never unlock the mystery of how tour players "choose" to hit a draw on this shot and not so on another or "contour" their shots to suit the fairway in front of them. I thought that was all hokus pokus, golfer mythology, word salad! (Not really but it sort of sounded far fetched.) It isn't! Danny is telling us how to begin "Learning to work your way around the ball." Absolutely brilliant! Thank Danny!!! You're an absolute star !!
Danny, you do great with your videos. I love them, they have made me a much better ball striker. This video along with a couple other have made it so that my drives are a lot more consistent. I’ve added probably 40 yards to my average drive. But I’ve developed a nasty sky. Every time I go to play I warm up on the driving range and can hit nice and straight to start. Somewhere around 20 balls in I get a sky that I can’t seem to control. I know why skies happen, high impact angle and having the ball teed too high, I’ve ruled out teeing too high. What about doing this technique could cause skying? Hips sliding, body rotating before the club? The opposite?
This has completed the learning circle for me between two instrumental pieces of advice I have received. The first being your own advice on swing planes from a couple years back, the second being Adam Young's "hammer the nail" What I love about this thought pattern is that there are no actual "swing" thoughts, just proper address and focus on impact. Adam said something very true on the Chasing Scratch podcast which I will paraphrase: The majority of movements we make in life are not driven by mechanics but by objective, our bodies can and will naturally move to meet our objectives with practice. It is impossible for humans to make the exact same motion twice, we are not machines. What is important in a golf swing is building a mind/muscle connection to get the club in the right position at impact, this is really what pro golfers have above all others - they can feel exactly where that ball is coming off the club What have I learned? Well, if I'm slicing the ball I need to aim more inside on the ball. If I am topping balls, I move the ball back in my stance. If I am thicking then I take a step back. None of these fixes are actually swing changes, it's just about playing the swing that I have on that day rather than trying to force the same one everyday - that just isn't how our bodies work
Within ONE YEAR (thanks in part to Danny's videos) I was able to shoot 85, on a PGA level course, with "PGA rules." And, how did I do it? Exactly what he described in this video. I shortened-up my backswing, kept the ball going STRAIGHT and IN PLAY. This is GREAT ADVICE for new/semi-new golfers.
Great video! I implemented these tips and with some practice I've gained 30+ yards with my driver.. I could always hit my 3wood farther than my driver but not anymore.
Last year I was driving about 240 yards on average, and now after watching a few of your videos and working in a few techniques, my average is almost to 300. Such a good feeling to watch it fly that far!
Brilliant. Back to basics for me. My handicap dropped them I tried to get more distance and got the faults that you show. Too much wrist and elbow bend. Will concentrate on my turn today 👍
My drives were all over the place save 2 or 3 good ones but I kept trying a full swing cause thats how the pro's do it. Over the last couple of years, if my drives were not so good, I would shorten my swing to get back in the groove. I really need to do that every time. Great instruction video Danny!
Great stuff. I've been working on hitting the lower, inner side of the golf ball, trying to create a draw, per your earlier videos. But, like Bob, sometimes I push it right and I bet the cupped lead wrist is the reason why. I don't think I set up that way, but the face opens up during the swing. I going to try and focus on keeping the face closed and probably a shorter swing will help that. But I can't see myself hitting it 280 yards, even in my wildest imagination! I love your lessons and look forward to every Saturday morning.
Very good instructions as always Danny, very visual and easy to get your points even as a beginner (and slicer) like myself. Your my number one golf coach on youtube for sure, keep up the good work mate.
I now call it the "magic move." I was leaning with lead shoulder higher, but not turning my wrists to square the club face. Tried it today and it worked as promised. Great video. Ken Washington State USA
Oh my word, Bob sounds like me when starting off at the first hole these days...tell him to hang in there and keep following your lovely routine, which is forever helpful! Cheers lad!
Humble thanks! That backswing that ends in a lift of the shoulders is spot on what I notably do as well, watching videos of my swing. My from the out to in is horrible. I play with what I have, but it feels silly finding it difficult to tee off with a tree on the left side.
Danny Maude takes golf instruction to another level and is by far the best golf instruction channel on youtube. One question Danny - those short swings you were doing that went 270 yards - what was the swing speed - I am age 60 and my swing speed on driver is 96 but Im only getting 180 - the ball goes incredibly high and with a strong fade so I reckon I am losing distance with too much height - I will be trying this drill later today on the simulator to see if what happens. Great video as always .
That, Danny is one of those lessons that opens doors! Keep the right elbow locked and turn as far as your body allows. I always lift my arms and elbows and that makes me come over the top. ❤
Great video Danny! Your advice is spot on but feel versus real is the most difficult thing to realize in MY golf journey. Thanks to inexpensive video capture and reasonably priced launch monitors/simulators. I’m slowly getting away from the recoiling back swing which caused me to lift and collapse my arms at the top of my back swing.
What a great video, Danny! I have been watching your videos for a while now and trying my best to put them to use! What would you recommend for a single Dad who can't often afford to have an instructor look at my swing and correct or get to a range and consistently hit balls? I'm new to the game and use your videos to get so much better. Thank you for all you do!
Great lesson I finally understood impact of face on the ball, been experimenting as new golfer and with your tips I can understand why I slice , for good measure managed to hit up to 244 yards with the half swing.
Once again, thank you so much for this superb lesson! You are a grace from heaven!! Only if you live here in Canada, my friends and I will get coaching lessons from you in person. But just following your video lessons, make a huge difference already in our swing and we continuously gain distance!!! Take care!😊
For me, this is the most important driver golf video, ever. Every time I try to hit driver hard, I go over the top and totally embarrass myself. Danny just proved that I can make two simple changes for better contact and longer drives. As Danny would say, "Brilliant!"
Great again, i realised in my attempt to do a “proper” backswing, i was losing control. Once i concentrated on that stretching back and not overswinging, I’m 65, it worked so much better., with every club. Thanks Dan….again 😂
Another good vid....Ive found for me a neutral grip and bowing my left wrist has improved my ball striking (only problem is if I turn through shot by coming out of posture I drag it way left )....
A bit late seeing this. But defo going to try this next time I get to the range. I have an issue that I don’t slice or fade my driver. I just hit it straight left. I’m new and I know that I’m all over the place with my back swing. Excited to give this a go

Amazing to hear Brett, thanks for sharing
Well done Gerry 🙌
Thanks for another video here, Danny. I'm 34 and just starting out. I was driving low/straight, and probably 100 yards carry on a good swing. After watching a few of your videos here, I've managed 200 yards but with a huge slice often. I am looking forward to practicing this to hopefully eliminate that slice! Thanks again.
@lordkeo4805 thanks so much for watching. I really appreciate it. Keep practicing…you will get there I’m sure 👍🏻
Danny
This is the best video I ever watched. But the prove in the pudding is on the course :)
Thank you again
Ralph
Thank you Ralph, appreciate the support 😁
Tried this yesterday and hit some of my straightest drives of the year. So easy to follow. Cheers Danny
Brilliant Graham, well done !
Danny, long time subscriber. Thank you for the great lessons. Your instructions are to the point and easy to follow. As a 67 yr. old, not as flexible as I use to be, your instructions should eliminate/minimize my side spin.
Awesome, thank you!
I’m 60 been playing since January last year. I’m a 26 handicap and have been struggling with a fade and slice thus only about 170 to 180 yds. Practiced this lesson yesterday and today. Now hitting it straight 210 to 220 carry. Very pleased indeed.
Brilliant Jim, well done 👍
This lesson actually worked for me. I went and played 9 holes the next day after watching this and every hole I hit driver and 3W, the ball went further and straight. Last time I played this same course I was hitting around 200-210. Yesterday, 250-255. I couldn’t believe it. Still need to play more to see if it sticks but after 1 round, I’m impressed.
@Chillphil1906 that’s great. Well done. Thanks for watching. Keep practicing 👏
Great advice! I started doing this when my ball striking goes bad and it's helped tremendously. Now I'm starting each training session with a few whacks of a ball like this. Interestingly, I then applied the same thing to my putter and it worked great. Much straighter putts with a shorter takeaway.
Well done 😁 and thank you!
The effect of just tilting the shoulders is enormous.
Combined with the shorter back swing to avoid funny angles and chicken wings is the key for me to get more control over the little white thing.
Thanks a lot :-)
Love to hear how you get on
This is by far the best lesson I’ve had in 30 years !! Thank you so much for making it so easy.
You're very welcome Jeffrey
Brilliant video Danny. The right hand trick has made a huge difference to my all too often sliced drive. Thanks so much.
@markbrayson2130 you are very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it 🙏🏻
This actually works! I kept blocking my driver to the extent that I stopped using it. I tried the longer extension, feeling like I had more width with a straighter left arm and the results were almost instant. Great video!
Well done 🙌
I would fly to England or wherever you are to take a lesson!! You explain it so simply. It looks so easy! I especially like the wrist explanation, I think I do exactly what you are saying to get that extra power. Instead I’m losing power. I just purchased a used Mizuno ST Max 9.5 degree for my birthday yesterday, I can’t wait to go try this move at the range. If I could carry 220-230 I would be over the moon! Thank you Danny
Happy to help Joe 😁 thank you for the support 👍
Thanks for the great tips,I went to a shortened backswing almost 30 years ago. I had developed a terrible slice and found the easiest way for me to remedy it was to shorten my backswing enough that i wasn't opening the club face as much as i couldn't seem to close it before impact. I am by no means a good golfer but I do hit driver much straighter since, just need to get some yardage out of it.
Just fantastic I just played this morning in Paradis golf club Mauritius Island!!! I followed your advice ….it’s working !!!!!
Thank you so much!!
Amazing to hear Louis
Danny, I can’t wait to try this. I’ve been a slicer forever, but the last 5-6 years it’s been really bad. Lots of OBS and no distance whatsoever. I went from a reliable 210-220 yard fade to no distance and not knowing what my ball is going to do off the tee.
Hope this helps Chris
@@DanielMaude thank you! Will definitely let you know. Your lessons are great!
One of the things I love about Danny is he gives me the tools to diagnose and fix my swing while playing. When I make my mistakes I have a great idea of what happened and how I need to change.
Thanks so much, my goal has always been to help golfers become their own best coach
Going out to practice this on tomorrow
Thanks so much 🎉!
The graphics in this video are so helpful, thanks Danny, will definitely be practicing this
Glad you like them!l Paul
I have the exact same swing flaw due to lack of flexibility. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get a full swing to not chicken wing. I started trying a shorter swing and I'm hitting it so much better now. This video really connected with me. Thanks.
Thank you Glie 😁
You make the golf swing look so easy. Your tips are always top notch. I try to watch your videos based on what I'm struggling with before I play. Absolutely brilliant. Thanks as always Danny.
Thank you Anil 😁
It's great when the science matches up. As a beginner it was too much of stretch to just TRUST what the pro was telling me. I spent years over swinging on the range, until learning recently that what I thought was a stinger for the wind was basically the shot you're displaying above. The prob for 90% of folk is failure to accept that less is more. Something I still trouble with, and occasionally fall back into, mid round, yet by the same token, often play better in the wind, if you follow.
Great work Danny Maude.
Thank you Genansai! Happy to help 😁
Just a superb and simple video Danny, thank you so much! I feel the longer my swing gets the less control I have and the more inconsistency in my driver. What you describe here can help me get the additional distance and directional control that I desire to bring my game to the next level. Thank you!
Thank you Bob!
Thank you Gary 😁
best instructor on YT, thanks
Thanks so much for the support
That was enlightening. I love the football to accentuate the idea of aligning to hit a different part of the ball.
Thanks for the feedback Chris
Really happy to help
Danny you are LITERALLY the man buddy!! Just the way you break down how/why simply it's impressive!!
Thank you Mike!
Danny, this is excellent and extremely helpful! I've been struggling recently. With this simple practice, I got my driver back, thank you!
Well done 😁
Brilliant! My slice has creeped back into my game and this is exactly what I needed at the perfect time, thank you Sir.
Love to hear how you get on
Danny, you do great with your videos.
I've been working on a partial swing for driver. I'm focusing on an ascending blow and a smooth swing. Slowly working back to the full swing.
This video is amazing! Helps picture everything way better. I love how you explained hitting every side of the back of the ball.
Thank you 😁
This has completed the learning circle for me between two instrumental pieces of advice I have received.
The first being your own advice on swing planes from a couple years back, the second being Adam Young's "hammer the nail"
What I love about this thought pattern is that there are no actual "swing" thoughts, just proper address and focus on impact. Adam said something very true on the Chasing Scratch podcast which I will paraphrase:
The majority of movements we make in life are not driven by mechanics but by objective, our bodies can and will naturally move to meet our objectives with practice. It is impossible for humans to make the exact same motion twice, we are not machines. What is important in a golf swing is building a mind/muscle connection to get the club in the right position at impact, this is really what pro golfers have above all others - they can feel exactly where that ball is coming off the club
What have I learned? Well, if I'm slicing the ball I need to aim more inside on the ball. If I am topping balls, I move the ball back in my stance. If I am thicking then I take a step back. None of these fixes are actually swing changes, it's just about playing the swing that I have on that day rather than trying to force the same one everyday - that just isn't how our bodies work
I 💯 agree to all of that
Within ONE YEAR (thanks in part to Danny's videos) I was able to shoot 85, on a PGA level course, with "PGA rules."
And, how did I do it? Exactly what he described in this video. I shortened-up my backswing, kept the ball going STRAIGHT and IN PLAY.
This is GREAT ADVICE for new/semi-new golfers.
@mycommentpwnz that’s amazing well done. Thank you so much for your lovely comment, it really means a lot 🙏🏻
Amazing to hear
Thanks for the driver tip Danny! I’m going to try it out this week!
Have fun!
Brilliant lesson and tips Danny - looking forward to trying this at the driving range this evening!
@nickbull1273 thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Enjoy practicing 🙏🏻
@user-wh2fd8gx1c thank you so much for your comment. It really means a lot. Really glad you are enjoying all my videos. Keep practising and enjoy 👍🏻
Very good instructions as always Danny, very visual and easy to get your points even as a beginner (and slicer) like myself. Your my number one golf coach on youtube for sure, keep up the good work mate.
@jonas8089 thank you so much for your lovely comments. I really do appreciate it. 🙏🏻
I now call it the "magic move." I was leaning with lead shoulder higher, but not turning my wrists to square the club face. Tried it today and it worked as promised. Great video. Ken Washington State USA
Thank you Ken 😁
I look forward to over thinking this tomorrow on the course rather than going to the range! Great vid as always!
@@timb9363 love to hear how you get on
I'm a senior needing driver distance. Definitely will try. Thank you.
Thanks Kb 😁
Oh my word, Bob sounds like me when starting off at the first hole these days...tell him to hang in there and keep following your lovely routine, which is forever helpful! Cheers lad!
I will do 😁
Humble thanks!
I will double check and post because a few people are asking
@@DanielMaude Thanks Danny 👍
Good advice, I am guilty of coming in on a bad angle trying to kill the ball. This helped me adjust my swing and straighten out shot, thanks
@edlong8643 that’s great. Well done 👏
Great advice that more golfers need to follow. Thanks for sharing.
Pleasure Adam
That, Danny is one of those lessons that opens doors! Keep the right elbow locked and turn as far as your body allows. I always lift my arms and elbows and that makes me come over the top. ❤
Absolutely Rick, it also gets you to excessive cock the wrists which in turn opens the club face giving you a lot of work to do in the downswing
@daveythomas4338 that’s great. Keep up the good work and enjoy 👍🏻
Great! Getting older and great reminder to shorten the swing ! Thanks Al
Pleasure
Love your videos, I look forward to them each week danny
Thanks for supporting each week Chris
Excellent images to allow us all to get better results - I'm always amazed how you come up with new or refreshed ideas every Saturday. Thank you.
With so many students I'm always being inspired
Another great approach to more distance. I still subscribe to the catapult theory. It's getting there. Thanks DM
Awesome to hear Mike
What a great video, Danny! I have been watching your videos for a while now and trying my best to put them to use! What would you recommend for a single Dad who can't often afford to have an instructor look at my swing and correct or get to a range and consistently hit balls? I'm new to the game and use your videos to get so much better. Thank you for all you do!
You have fixed my golf game 100% went from shooting in the 100 to 90 80 to 78 and I can live with that honestly
Well done 🙌
Danny you make this look too easy hahaha.
I have never hit a 280 yard drive on the course.
Excited to try out these tips
You can do it!
Great lesson I finally understood impact of face on the ball, been experimenting as new golfer and with your tips I can understand why I slice , for good measure managed to hit up to 244 yards with the half swing.
Brilliant well done 😁
Once again, thank you so much for this superb lesson! You are a grace from heaven!! Only if you live here in Canada, my friends and I will get coaching lessons from you in person. But just following your video lessons, make a huge difference already in our swing and we continuously gain distance!!! Take care!😊
@Princess-qn6dy you are very welcome. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. It really does mean a lot. 🙏🏻
This may be Danny's best driving lesson ever. It was great for me. Higher, longer, straighter and easier! Thank you. Shorter backswing for irons too?
Thank you Kevin 😁
HI Danny - I'm a long time fan of your instruction and have seen improvements in my game. Regarding this video, how would this translate to irons? TIA
Love it, keep them coming even for the everyday players!
Thank you David d
@@DanielMaudedo you have a way I can directly get in contact to discuss a virtual session ?
I’ve noticed when I shorten my backswing my driver is so much more consistent so this video is worth every minute of watching
Awesome to hear Joe
Danny. Another brilliant video reminder to keep things short and sweet! Thanks 🙏
@kineticU thank you so much. Pleased you enjoyed my video 🙏🏻
This video is exactly what I needed to watch . Thanks Danny !
You are very welcome Carlos
For me, this is the most important driver golf video, ever. Every time I try to hit driver hard, I go over the top and totally embarrass myself. Danny just proved that I can make two simple changes for better contact and longer drives. As Danny would say, "Brilliant!"
@BobCarrera thank you. I really appreciate it 👍🏻 Glad you enjoyed it 🙏🏻
Great again, i realised in my attempt to do a “proper” backswing, i was losing control. Once i concentrated on that stretching back and not overswinging, I’m 65, it worked so much better., with every club. Thanks Dan….again 😂
Love to hear that Colin
Another good vid....Ive found for me a neutral grip and bowing my left wrist has improved my ball striking (only problem is if I turn through shot by coming out of posture I drag it way left )....
That’s great Ron thanks for taking the time to share
A bit late seeing this. But defo going to try this next time I get to the range. I have an issue that I don’t slice or fade my driver. I just hit it straight left. I’m new and I know that I’m all over the place with my back swing. Excited to give this a go
This is a pivotal video Danny. Total ball control is at our fingertips with this. Dynamite stuff DM.
Thank you Chip 😁
