Saiki said that watching Dany sing in English close up helped her to improve her own pronunciation. Everyone was able to learn something from this. Very exciting. ❤
Makes a lot of sense to learn from Dani. Spanish and Japanese pronunciation is not far off, and following her lead would be very helpful.
From a few articles I've read, English pronunciation is very difficult for non-native speakers. The way the mouth and tongue shapes the words is very unique to English, making it very difficult for Japanese and other Asian language speakers. Simply, their mouths don't know how to form those words, because their language doesn't have those sounds.
@@ericifune5543 Yes, the vowels in japanese and spanish sounds exactly the same. Consonants are a different matter.
Now I can barely speak another language (Spanish) and have heard that Japanese is one of the hardest. I just honestly have no idea what Saiki is singing without captions. Dany is pretty clear with English- although I know she’s been speaking it since she was little.
For me, the singers voice is a bit too forward placed and can sound screechy. I admire their talent and they’re masters of their instruments, I just prefer the Warning
And writing music
I had the fortunate experience of being there when these women first met in October of 2022 in Sacramento. I was peeking around the corner outside the press area. They were obviously fans of each other before this meeting because Band-Maid was seated at their table and jumped up when the Warning entered, Pau saw them first and ran right over to them. Now, it's not 2 years we get this epic? It's a great time to be alive!
What a special memory wow 👍🍻
That's a wow. 😮
Awesome 👏
this is probably my favorite collab. Honestly I haven't listened to much of The Warning, but I definitely need to listen to more of them now
Same here!
Kanami wrote the song, Miku wrote the lyrics and The Warning polished the arrangement , it was a true collaboration between two super talented bands that respect the hell out of each other, true queens.
I dig how after the “dueling” parts, we’re given Miku playing chords under Saiki and then Dany and then the others come back in. I love the song and I love seeing these two bands together.
The whole song is a trade off. Not just in vocals and instruments, but in the composition itself. The whole thing kicks off with Dany's amazing belt for The Warning, and ends with MISA taking it home for us on the Band-Maid side. It's just a well crafted song all around.
Misa is playing an Ale bass line from their first album. A cool tip of the hat to Ale from one bass player to another.
Survive yeah I also thought of it
@@JordanSpeedCuber So glad more people are having that click.
@@dannelson6980I did not know that! I thought that it was an artistic choice - the song was basically a wall of sound and at the end, everything stops except for those short but tasty licks from Misa's bass. Now that I know where it came from it makes so much more since in the context of the collab) 💢
@@vdrlng Just like the song Survive from The Warning. It builds to a solid wall of sound and everything drops out except Ale playing a bass riff.
Sassy. Undaunted. A diminutive middle finger to anyone or anything that dares to oppose or attempts to diminish their native badassery. Some nitwits are saying this song is just meh.
W T absolute F??
They also think Godzilla was a minor nuisance to 1960's Toyko. These individuals baffle me!
But you do not baffle me Princess NittPicc. Thank you for your insightful and exuberant reaction! Highpoint of my Sundays!! 😊
From the interviews, when Dany saw that she'd have to wail the choruses around E5, which is near her normal limit, she assumed it was written primarily for Saiki. Then Saiki saw it, and E5 is her limit, and she thought it was written for Dany. Then Saiki decided - Kanami is just a sadist, and wanted to see them all stretch to their limit. Dany said 'I know what you mean'. Kanami just sounded all innocent said something like ' I wanted to get the charm of their high voices'. Not sure Saiki or Dany would have called it 'charm'. LOL But you are so right, their voices are very similar. I think Dany's holds together a bit stronger when she climbs, but otherwise, just a lovely combo! I also loved that they decided to use Ale with the overdrive fuzz tones and let MISA do da slappin. Great vid, I also was giggling like mad watching this. LOL
This collaboration is a guilty pleasure for fans of both bands! Been waiting for this collaboration since the bands met at Aftershock in 2022! Blended so well, but would we expect anything else from Kanami's compositional skills? It had to be so fun making this video! The time line is mind numbing, writing a new song, getting input from all participants, being able to practice this song enough to play it live, make this awesome MV, and still having time do the PRS interview with Dani and Kanami, amazing! And still having time to sight see too boot!
I wouldn't doubt that a good portion of the preparation was done over the internet, well ahead of TW making their trip over to Japan. Another thing that a lot of people overlook is the pure logistical challenge for this to happen. Not only did TW have to make the trip early, but a good portion of their team and equipment had to get there in time, as well. While Dany, Pau and Ale were doing their thing, their support team was no doubt working with the studio techs to get everything ready.
The thing for me, is that the solo's are not duels or even 'passings'. The bass is actually one solo, where Ale plays the first part & Misa continues on . The same with the guitars. It is one solo where Dany plays the first part & Kanami continues on. And of course it is the same with Akane & Pau on the kits. That's why it all sounds so seamless. At least to my old ears.
And yep, Miku in the middle of the whole show, where she belongs. Playing rhythm guitar & singing for both bands. She is so precious.
Great reaction! I love your unbridled enthusiasm! I was at the show in Japan where they debuted this incredible song. The affection and respect they showed each other had me crying. Yes, it was nit a battke. They were celebrating each others talent. I love that the song starts with the best of the Warning, Dany's belt, and ends with the best of Band Maid, Misa's bass! I absolutely love this collaboration and i hope they rekease the live version as well. Keep up the good work young lady!
One band of thirty year old women who don't speak English normally. Writing music and lyrics as The Warning were on a World tour. Then the twenty year old English speaking women came and suggested tweaks and stuff. This is a proper collaboration. Then Band Miad recorded their part first. Then The Warning recorded their part. The singing was recorded together. It is simply a classic rock song that suits both bands so well and just is inspiring and gets stuck in the head. There sadly will always be fans who are a bit territorial. But that is just sad. Most will enjoy the song as a great rock song by a real super group. Not a competition but a collaboration.
Well said! 🍻
My only comment is that while The Warning do normally sing in English their normal day is day language is Spanish. That includes during the creative process and between each other. It's just that the three of them are well practiced switching to English for other people. So basically we have two talented groups performing in a second language. Also, Kanami pushed both singers to sing a little higher in tone than they normally do. All 8 of them did an interview together on Billboard where they talked about the creative process and putting the song together. They didn't get a lot of time to work on the final version together but apparently passed the song back and forth long distance for awhile.
@@lonelywind3511great production by kanami.
So TW and B-M met at a US festival in 2022 and said they should collaborate. They got that opportunity this year. They went to Japan and played three shows, one with Band-Maid. TW traveled to Japan two weeks early to write/compose/record with B-M and record a MV. They then played it together at their one concert together. In an interview on the PRS channel, Kanami and Dany said that more collaborations are in the future. Kanami wants B-M to come to Mexico and and Dany wants the collab to be in Spanish. Dany and Kanami play similar PRS guitars in the same color.
Well if BM has to sing Spanish, they'll have to do another where TW sings in Japanese - just to be fair! hah!
but was Show Them the ONLY song they recorded in Japan?!?!
BAND-MAID: awesome!
The Warning: awesome!
BAND-MAID with The Warning: more awesome than awesome! 🤩
The Warn-maid is phenomenal.
The title "Show Them" says so much: two bands driven to show the world that the world doesn't know what it thinks it knows about women in rock. Any feel of a battle was that of warrior queens fighting for the same cause. Each musician respecting the artistry of the other.. celebrating each other by offering space for each individual to shine; each honoring their counterparts with the effort and determination to contribute their own excellence to the excellence of the others.
Kanami wrote the song. I could be wrong (and, if I am, I'm sure that 300-400 people will tell me), but my recollection is that The Warning had only 4-5 days to do their concert in Japan and to record this video. Yet the cohesion in this video sounds like the bands had been practicing this piece together for a month. Apart form the talent in these bands, I feel that one of the most important reasons that this musical effort is so tight is that these bands have become "Bestie Friends" over the last two years -- they like each other, they admire each other's work, and they socialize when they can. These are not two bands trying to out-shine each other; they are talented, confident friends trying to make the best collaborative effort possible in the brief time allowed. They did one heckuva job!
actually The Warning arrived in Japan around 2 weeks before their concerts
@@Bekka_Noyb As I said, I could be corrected (since I was going from hazy memory -- which is why I said "I could be wrong..."). Nevertheless, your correction is useful and appropriate. Even at almost 2 weeks, they got a lot accomplished.
@@bruceveary1758 wasn't trying to be snarky, just letting ya know. As you said, still impressive! 🙂
@@Bekka_Noyb I didn't think that you were being snarky. Again, your comments were appropriate and necessary. (FYI: If I'm not sure of my facts in a post, I'll try to qualify [e.g. "I could be wrong..."] the statement. Don't worry -- you're absolutely fine here.
@@bruceveary1758 occasionally I'm callous & strange 🤭
Epic buildup for a great collaboration - more "Epic Narratives" on the way
MISA got the mic drop. . .
because she never drops her pick.
I can't believe that with all the reactors that I've listened to that the algorithm hadn't popped your channel to me. The reaction was enthusiastic, bubbly. and entertaining. I realize that with these two bands collaborating. it does move the needle up a tad. I look forward to reviewing your channel. Again, thanks for the reaction. 😊😊
The *BAND-MAID* and *The Warning* journey began back in 2022 at *Aftershock* and blossomed into a beautiful collaboration and you know in typical *Kanami* composition when transitioning from one instrument to the next she likes it smooth like Santana 😊
_(Did you happen to see _*_Miku_*_ tuning her guitar in the video 😜 opps wrong video)_
Saiki mentioned in the joint interview that her English diction is better because she was singing with a fluent (if not native) speaker. Another little note, I always LOVE seeing Kanami watching the people she's playing with, it's just so obvious how much of a fan she is, you see it with Misa before the Hate? solos and here with Dany. Highest praise I can give: It's honestly everything we, as fans of both bands, could have hoped it would be.
I was there at the Roppongi special okyuji on June 12th (my first time in Japan too).. That was a two-man show where TW performed for about an hour, then B-M for the 2nd hour. I thought the show was over but then the techs were resetting the stage with ALL THEIR instruments while Miku was teaching TW how to do omajinai-time. My heart nearly stopped in anticipation of a dual-performance, and my jaw just dropped when my first listen to this song was at that performance. Saiki and Dani belting out during the 2nd chorus was so 😻😻
Now seeing your reaction, I did not have the luxury of hitting pause or rewind during that concert 😅
But if you were there with us at Roppongi, Im sure I would have seen a "nittpicc.exe stopped working" 😹
Although Miku's omajinai time was a bit short, it was heartwarming that they called out TW on the stage with them, teaching them how to moe moe kyun kyun! 😻 Dani even modified it with "Vamos" and "Warning" calls which we all answered loudly back.
The most special moment for me was when, before Dani belted out her grito in this song at that Roppongi performance, Saiki leaned into and whispered something to Dani... Then Dani yelled on the mic "kagatte koi ya!" (bring it on!). Man the crowd's yellback was thunderous! I know theres a leaked clip of it but it doesn't do justice how loud the crowd response was! 😻🎀
Also, during TW's first 5 or so songs, I saw Akane and Kanami at the corner of stage right, giggling and pumping their fists in the air and making cute jumping motions. They were obviously fangirling hard! 😹
🎀
When friendship leads to awesome music!!
Great reaction.🤘 I love your honest and 100% positive reactions. Two bands that respect each other and make a great collaboration. I couldn't ask for anything more.
This is not a battle, this is not a collab, this is a party between friends, a big jam session lol.
I said several times, I'm not a musician, but one thing that I love in this song, is that the solo part are almost written like one solo that they pass on each other, just like Saiki and Dany share the lyrics, each instrumentalist share their solos. The other thing I love is that, the first chorus is clearly Saiki with Danny in the backing, the second is Dany with Saiki in the backing, the third is them separated, the last one is them together, I find it wonderful and it give so much power for the end.
Also, I'm glad Miku as some time for her too, I was hoping she would have a little more, but that because I never have enough Miku, even in her song lol.
Eight women showing how to put together the best collaboration of the year!
Miku's lyrics are always phenomenal.
They trade 4 bars each, or 2 depending on how you count - it is a standard musical convention
In an interview with PRS Japan, Dany and Kanami mentioned other songs they worked on so I guess we'll have to wait and see what else they cooked up. Band-Maid also said they want to go to Mexico and the Warning are doing a couple weeks of performances at home in February so here's hoping.
I already have tickets so I'm very hopeful.
This song is actually growing on me now a few weeks after release. I was there that day in June when they performed this song on stage in Roppongi, Tokyo. The song wasn't even hinted at the time (afaik). I'd say I could only foresee something like this happening to about 3% (because they would show up at the same event and it could technically happen), but I sure wasn't expecting it to actually happen. So kudos to both bands for surprising me. It was the first time to see The Warning live finally for me after having been a fan for many years (being a Patreon for some time) so I was already on cloud nine and honestly don't remember much from that night. Except I caught Miku's pick after the show. Let's hope they release the live version of it.
I was there too! What a great show! And seeing them play together on this song, and them showing each other such respect and affection had me crying.
I was there as well and I knew they were going to play an original song together. When they met at Aftershock, I think it was Saiki that posted that The Warning mentioned doing a song together. Then when The Warning got to Japan well ahead of those three concerts dates and immediately got together with the maids, I knew what was happening.
Miku invited Warning to “Magic Spell Time” and the ladies enjoyed call and response with Japanese fans!😁
ooh was there too. Def a moment I will cherish forever! The sound & lights were great. Seen a camera guy cuz he came into our balcony area
plus they did release that 30 sec clip a while back. so I'm hoping for an official live video at some point 🤞
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu Me too. But they scared me by wauting till the end! Lol
My favorite part of Sunday morning is NittPicc. The level of discourse in the comments reflects positively on the quality of your content, and your viewers provide me with fresh insights on songs I’ve already spent a lot of time with.
This song grows on me more and more each time I listen to it.
I’m looking forward to the next one. If/when BM and TW unite again in person, I’m going. This last few weeks with the collab I’ve learned more about BM and their style and have become a fan (while still proudly being TWA). AND I am now buying BM music and merch. I love, too, that these two bands are in different parts of the world and the music is bringing people together
Eso es un claro ejemplo de lo que es una simbiosis…
Just like most reactions the obvious is stated bot no mention of how Miku 's part in the collaboration is the axle this whole wheel is turning on. The growl of her guitar and the howl of her voice should never be understated!
I like the way the video at least puts Miku in the centre and everything revolves around her, because most reactors never mention her and yet she is, as you say, the solid core, one that Kanami knows she can absolutely depend on, and compose around.
Was lucky enough to be at their joint concert in Tokyo in June where they live debuted this song
Also caught the premiere of this video. Nice to get to read the lyrics on this one
Really hoping that they release an official live video of this from that concert too!
For me, because I'm a geek, it's like the first time the Justice League meets the Avengers! Two awesome teams from different universe and companies coming together.
"Collab of the Bands". Saiki and Dany sound GREAT together, gives me "chicken skin". I LOVE Miku being the rhythm glue in the middle holding both bands together AND the using of her "Peace and Love" vocal riff too.
WHY on earth would you apologize being a FanGirl????? That's what make your reactions so genuine. Now take that apology back right now young lady........or I'm telling your Mom.
Two of my favorite things are at the beginning and the end of the solo. At the beginning with the bass, Ale's sound is just muddy and dirty and the the switch to Misa and it's just so clean sounding. It's a great, different sound and they mesh so good together. Then at the end when it's the two vocalists, the only instrument is Miku. It's great that, since she is the only one who doesn't have a counter while playing rhythm guitar and backing vocals that she also gets her moment to shine on her instrument.
Watching this again they are saying...
Show them...
What we....
Can do....
Together.
A lesson for all of us.
This is monumental !!!!!!! Put the two top female hard rock bands on stage together and they sync perfectly !!!! I have listened to a couple of The Warning's songs, but now I have to listen to a lot more, they are just mesmerizing. In watching this video of them together brings me back to the days of true supergroups like Cream, Blind Faith, Power Station and several others. Just like you said, this song gets your heart pumping and makes you sweat. I just took another blood pressure pill, lol. The tradeoffs between lead guitar, bass, drums and lead singers are perfection, with Miku adding in her own magic both on guitar and backing vocals. And it's your physical reactions to what's going on that makes this so much sweeter to watch. And your musical interpretations are always a great help to me and I'm sure a whole lot of others. Just keep it up !!!!
Saiki and Dany looked so beautiful singing together ❤
Great reaction as always, don’t apologize for “ fangirling “ with Band Maid most of us as music fans gush with enthusiasm for these young ladies. I find myself out in public and see someone with a rock t-shirt on so I approach them and ask if they have ever listened to Band Maid and if not pulling out my phone to pull up a video. For those of us who love good music we adore your informed opinion and love for their music keep on fangirling - love your reactions.
Your turn towards the camera after the trade off? Comedic genius.
Excitement is fine. You managed to slip in some insightful comments about what was happening in the music, which is good.
Now you should watch Saiki's playing the piano as the whole of Band-Maid accompany her -- that was a real treat too (finale of the 20 March acoustic concert). Saiki not just debuting as an instrumentalist, but playing keyboard with all of Band-Maid playing their instruments. Kanami must have been in seventh heaven with Miku playing the guitar so well, and now Saiki making progress on piano -- still early days for her, but good enough to be a treat.
Dany’s Lzzy open just ROCKS! The collab…HOLY SHIT! A Japanese band and a Mexican band singing in a second language.
Love this collaboration! I'm a big fan of each band. I feel it was a good representation of each band within a single composition. I was curious about how both bands would mesh together. I suspected this collaboration would produce a quality track since each group possesses an overabundance of talent to work with and Kanami's ability to compose music that provides a feeling of familiarity out of complexity. I must say they managed to incorporate each band's signature to form a seamless, cohesive composition. Very impressive! I feel both artists are fans of each other and respect each other and wanted to provide their fans with this gift.
I understand the fans have a tendency to see this as a competition rather than a collaboration which does not serve the purpose of this collaboration. I believe this collaboration was a good vehicle to expose each fanbase to a band that share characteristics that would appeal to the others fanbase. Although many were fans of both bands prior to this collaboration there may be a greater amount of fans of Band-Maid and The Warning who were unaware of the other. I hope that it results in expanding each other's fanbase so that these bands can thrive long into the future.
Don't apologize for fangirling. It just makes it more fun to watch. Of all the talent in that video, Saiki was the one who stood out to me.
For me, what stood out was Mincho's outro which I feel is the best one she has done so far.
I like the take a guest had on another reaction, they are like mirroring each other. More accurate take than a battle.
Definitely not a battle, more like a pas de deux.
That was a nice analysis of the different parts of the song (and as a TWA member I can hear the POW in Pau's part😄). I love the call and response between drums, guitars and bass, Dany, Saiki and Miku's vocals blend together and our little pigeon is the rock in the middle holding the song together🤘
what a great song. you never get to see your two favorite bands playing together. EPIC!!
Miku is such a class act. she didnt have a dance partner and sort of took a backseat and let the others shine.
MISA rocking her new signature bass, Miku with the beautiful Zemaitis signature Flappy Pigeon.
if you want to see Kanami's new PRS search "made for Kanami". it is a work of ART! is that a Pigeon i saw on that PRS?
Her new axe is worthy of any museum anywhere. Fit for a Queen!
According to an interview, Kanami originally intended to write a dark, heavy song - but thought that would be too obvious. She also wrote the vocal parts pitched as high as they are to challenge the vocalists. (Dani said “next time it’ll be lower” or something to that effect. 😆)
Anyway, the similarity of their voices might be due to how high they’re singing. Dani has a smooth, powerful, but somewhat girlish voice, while Saiki’s got that sharp edge, but with warm, dark color underneath. In parts of the song you can more easily hear the difference.
Speaking of differences, when you hear Pau’s snare make that classic pong sound, you realize how deep Akane’s snare is.
Now that you’ve seen this, it’s worth watching the leak. The quality is kinda terrible but you get an idea how this sounded in a live setting. In particular, Saiki was *going for it* - she sounds rough in spots, but enormously energetic.
Dang girl, at the 10:25 - 10:26 mark, you got your squeak on... LOL. But I understand both bands are a force to be reckoned with alone, but they are scary good together.
Loved your reaction y tu grito de mariachi! 🔥
MISA MISA MISA!!!!! Ale Ale Ale! can't tell you how happy I was/am when I saw/see MISA having the "last word" and It was FANTASTIC to hear a musician re-act to the song without complaining about the Vocals being to high in the mix and dry (whatever that means)
It's entirely possible that NittPicc enjoyed that. 🤔 🤭
I have no problem with fangirling! 😻😻😻
I wonder if Misa’s ending could play into the beginning of the next collab they do!!! 😱😱😱
I very much enjoyed this collaboration. Each musician retained their own characteristic style, yet blended it together perfectly. When the next collaboration occurs I hope they do a tour together and bring it to the US, but if I have to drive to Monterrey, so be it.
We are all fangirls and boys but it’s allowed for something like this.
It unfortunate that some fans, reactors or commenters want to s**t on a collaboration that could have just been talk!
Kanami lead the song writing effort but she is the gardener that plants the seed. She expects the others to be the rain and sunshine to make it grow. It wasn’t a producer or management telling them they need to do this way…they all had input and it shows.
Both bands are fans of each others and made time in the middle of touring and releasing albums to have fun together and strengthen their friendship. So the next time they get together - in Mexico? They can take it to the next level! Which I’m sure they will!
Looking forward to next Sunday’s reaction…Thanks NittPicc!
🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
Indeed, this is not a competition, but about becoming one band. And it's about inspiring each other and growing together.
Two days ago, BAND-MAID streamed an acoustic concert of 14 songs for this year online. Tickets are on sale exclusively to the fan club for one month only. This is a must-see concert that you can only see now.
Seen a few others say the back and forths were biased or whatnot. Sounds to me like they just went with their usual styles when playing tbh. Not every band has to be exactly the and do the same things, it's not a competition. Part of the reason I like both bands so much is they each scratch a different itch of mine, even if just as a personal preference I like proggier stuff more so tend towards B-M.
Does anyone seriously doubt Dany could noodle at will or Ale slappa da bass if she wanted? One minor quibble is that I think Saiki was about at the edge of her higher range, that or the mixing was brutal in places.
About the only B-M collab I like tbh. They all did a great job start to finish, produced a catchy song and had fun doing it.
It's hard to not become a fan of both bands. I think that state of mind is reserved for grouchy old farts. I have every right to be one except I have always allowed my tastes in music to evolve.
This video just hit the Million views mark yesterday! Congratulations to both bands!!! 🎉
Both Dany and Kanami said they want to do this again but this time The Warning inviting Band-Maid to Mexico to collaborate. Hopefully it'll happen sooner than later.🤞
Chorus is a pure Earworm 👌 Fantastic. I'd like to hear it with Saiki/Dany vocals panned slightly apart as you see them on screen...might have been nice if Miku/Pau had a little vocal harmony phrase after the drum trade. A gem of a collab anyway 👊🥳🤘🤘🤘
難しい事は何も無い。このコラボを楽しめば良いという答え🍻素晴らしいリアクションをありがとう🤘🤩🤘
Princess NittPicc, I LOVED THAT FANGIRL LOOK ON YOUR FACE!!!!!!!!! I had the same fanboy look. This video screams "GIRL POWER!" I think that Band-Maid and The Warning are the new "Power Couple" in rock. WHAT A COLLAB!!!!!!!
I think it’s the best work as an introduction to each fan. Above all, I love seeing the two groups playing together harmoniously.😊
Maidiac here…..first, great reaction as per usual. This collaboration of Woman Power is one of, no, THE greatest rock anthem I’ve ever heard. I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤, but I must now listen more to my sisters down south. I just can’t get enough of Band Maid, but The Warning ladies were just awesome. Yes…..we need more of this!!!
Great reaction!
Absolutely EPIC song and music video!!
These eight awesome ladies did a superb job!
In the PRS guitars presentation in Tokio Dany and Misa said they ere planning another collabs and Dany wanted BM to come to Mexico and sing a song in spanish. Amazing!
Viva Band-Maid and The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
TAKE a deep breath fangirl....check that blood pressure!! LOL Having fun...are we?!?!
Misa's distortion on the "last word" -- is that the sound of respect?
W I N !!!!! W I N !!!⚡🎀 I think we can just say, at their level, Band-Maid and The Warning are equal peers at the very top of the "Rock" pile. I’ve watched “Show Them” 50 times now and still haven’t been able to drop my eyes down to the lyrics.🤘😂 Thx, Ms Picc!
THIS IS SO EPIC..WE FINALLY GET TO SEE AND HEAR THESE TWO AMAZING BAMDS TOGETHER
It finally occurred to me why that closing bass line is such a perfect ending for the song: it leaves us with a sense of suspended musical resolution. Our ear is expecting to hear a musical closure after those last two ascending notes. But the entire song is a call to action, so of course it doesn't end with a tone of finality. Instead, it's open, and feels like both a promise and an invitation of more to come.
My impression was not a face off, but a gradual blending, a coming together in a very positive way.
Well, I love this collab! I discovered both these bands just before the coof closed the world, very end of 2019/early 2020, and in some way a radio interview with Misa got me onto The Warning. I've been madly in love with both bands ever since. Outside of metal they might just be my two favourite bands right now. The only thing wrong with this song is that it's too short! Should've aimed for at least 6 minutes, dammit! lol
Love all your little dolphin noises!!!!! Great reaction!!!!! Thank you for what you do!!!!!!
There is so much to take in on this video. What first struck me was Dany's and Saiki's voices being so similar. I initially couldn't tell the difference other than Saiki's pronunciation and yes she is improving on her English. Ever since I heard an AI generation of Su-Metal singing a BM song, it got me wondering who could do a proper BM cover. I believe Dany can. Or vise-versa, Saiki do a TW cover. My mind boggles at the thought, it's going to be one of those things that keep me up at night.
I wasn’t a big fan of the signing at first … too much ‘belting’ I thought …then I heard Kanami arranged the song to have the belting there on purpose … Dani and Saiki both thought it might be too hard, Kanami told them “deal with it”! 😊
Wholistic
So, I figured I needed to listen with a more ‘holistic’ ear … so I listened to the Song a few hundred more times lol, and the lyrics & playing & arrangements does indeed require all that belting.
Two awesome bands … Kanami decided she was going to challenge everyone (not that an awesome collaboration wasn’t going to be challenging enough,) my Kanami is a Goddess!
So funny, almost without fail every reactor I’ve watched stops and rewinds the solo parts where they go back and forth. I don’t see it as a battle but just a great jam session between wonderful musicians and performers. The production on this video is excellent too.
'Don't Let Me Down' is all in English. But this was a potential train wreck. Kudos to Kanami, or whoever arranged this with so much space musically for everyone.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う 💛。 I witnessed the live debut of this song 😍 that was played as the encore & finale of the special concert by Band-Maid & The Warning on June 12 in Roppongi, Tokyo . My seat was located on the 2nd floor but in the center meaning in front of the two drummers. I was in bliss! It looked to me that Paulina and Akane literally and happily competed like a duel to see which drummer can kick harder enough to break their bass drum in the joint performance. 🤣
(FYI : In the special concert, The Warning, who opened as the special guest, performed so powerful that the Maids were fired up to start their turn with fullest energy as the hostess band. It was fun like a kind of martial arts between two fighters respecting each other. 😄)
🤘🇲🇽🤘🇯🇵🤘KONNICHIWA, HOLA, HELLO NittPicc how are you, It really felt like seeing the Avengers for the first time, that's exactly who I felt, but as you've said no in a battle sense, those two bands really respect each other, as the Avengers did, because those two bands really know how to team up, I am looking forward to them to continue to share their beautiful music 🌏🌐🌏 WORLD WIDE 🇲🇽TW🤘🤘🤘 & BM🇯🇵🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love bandmaid haven’t sat down and listen to the warning yet other then automatic sun which I thought was really good been seeing a lot of stuff on this song warning fans not happy it doesn’t sound like a warning song kanami wrote it tried to mix the two bands together if you watched the leaked video it’s in a higher register for saiki her voice would break also someone the mixing of it is off I didn’t watched the leaked video and listen to it when it came out really good song everyone has there spot to shine definitely a song they can’t do solo 🤘🏻
Love your reaction to this song. It’s really a great song both bands did a fantastic job.
All these years I saw both bands on TH-cam, each in different channels and performances. But seeing them live for the first time in Tokyo performing this song, it was like watching Avengers for the first time.
The end kind of feels like an homage to Survive by The Warning.
In my opinion, this is an epic collaboration. Love it. Funto watch the different playing styles of each member. Very exciting.
And who is in the center of it all? Pigeon🎉
Just my thoughts, MISA ending the song with those bass notes seems like a callback to Ale's bass notes ending "Survive". These two bands are fantastic talented musicians with great personalities, stage presence, and energy. They are fans of each other's music and friends since they met at the Aftershock music festival. The production, lighting, camera work, and editing are top-notch. They meshed together so well which is a credit to the skills of both bands because they didn't have a lot of time to work together before doing this. This song is on Band Maid's new album so I expected them to take more center stage, but it was cool to see them all pair up and trade off then come together for the chorus. Talk about a "Supergroup" this certainly fits. A Japanese band and a Mexican band playing rock and singing in English. The world seems like a better place now...
The song begins with Dany's wonderful scream, and ends with Misa's sudden and strange bass rhythm. It's a well-thought-out song.
Getting to witness this epic collab in person back in June in Tokyo was an amazing experience to say the least.
Already 358K views for this beautiful masterpiece!
This song is a result of talent with no egos. BTW, Dani and Kanami both play a PRS. That may be why it’s difficult to pinpoint where the trade off happens.
That Bass outro is the same outro that Ale uses on Survive...you can really here it on their TedX version...who knew Dany could sing in that key...both bands are fabulous...
In a Kanami and Dani interview for PRS there was a leak. They have made at least one more new song together. That's the only way to interpret an answer there.
Great reaction! 😎👍
Fangirl it up! Happy Squeals like yours are the reasons The Warning and Band-Maid do what they do. 🤘🔥🤘
