@@musikbyjh well everyone needs to understand that not everyone loves everything. I have said several times that there are several songs that the warning do that are just okay but not to the point that I would skip it on an album play through. Some would call that a bad comment but there are other groups that I love that I scratched entire songs so it would skip that song on the album 😁. So everyone chill it’s an opportunity to hear another way of looking at music you may not have considered. Big hug to all and take a deep breath.

But may I ask you then, what might be the intention, based on your wise words here, to honor such chauvinistic and racist comments against Asian musicians like the one below from @richardserrano7395 with a heart? In fact, I believe the commenter may have experience living in Asia and was speaking based on his personal experience (unless I'm confusing the user names). To be clear, I'm not justifying or concurring with the original comment, but do think there is a heightened sensitivity in the comments today that is making us all a little uncomfortable. What amazes me is you have two bands from different parts of the world with two different styles of rock and as far as I know have never played together ( I think this video was done before the live version in Japan ) and they sound like they have been playing together for years. I thought this was an amazing collaboration. I absolutely love the song and video. Can't wait for their next collaboration.🎸🤘🏻⚡️
We've had strong hints from both groups that there will be more, and the next one will likely be in Mexico. I suspect that one will be kind of "The Warning with BandMaid", in the same way this was the other way around. However it works out, I'm here for it!!!
Kanami intentionally made the song with vocals that are higher than usual for both singers. There was a second option, an octave lower. But the singers agreed to the challenge. In addition, the song is made in such a way that both groups can perform it separately.
Will this song get a Grammy nomination? Probably not. Was it fun to see two talented female rock bands from different cultures and parts of the world get together and perform a respectable song? HELL YES!!!
Can you say "girl power"? Well, Band-Maid and The Warning screamed "GIRL POWER! in this video. This collaboration, which was hard as hell to produce effectively, was incredible. Both groups and the production team NAILED THIS! Band-Maid and The Warning are the new "Power Couple" in rock. They have also hinted that another collab between them is in the future. Can't wait!
It's funny because some fans of The Warning (me included) think it was a more BM song, and then some Band-Maid Fans say it was more of a TW song, and that makes me think that they succeded on the collaboration. Now, this wasn't a battle of the bands, it was two bands that genuinely respect and like each other having fun!!!... those small solos are just the cherry on the cake for the video in my opinion, and if they had tried to showcase everyone talents in more detail that would have been an eight minute song. Hope you find the live version because there you can look how they actually played a lot more together and there are more exchanges. Just my opinion for sure, great reaction nevertheless as usual. I think what some fans aren't thinking about is that Band-Maid has five members vs The Warning having three. Band-Maid simply has more range/freedom in their songs because they have a dedicated guitar player plus a rhythm guitarist vs The Warning having just a vocalist/guitar player. Although they can have similar skills, singing and playing will limited how complex somethings are because it's just harder when trying to focus on both. Which says a lot about how talented The Warning is overall, but that does changes the structure of their songs and the sound you can get out of it. So to me at least, you can hear the Band-Maid in this song because the structure seems to fit their five members, but at the same time it feels like they tried to make the song playable without both bands when they want. So in that way it can feel more The Warning as the structure is a little more simplified knowing they only have three members which throws Band-Maid fans off. This shows they designed the song the best they could to fit with both bands. This also explains the very short soloes because if the song is played by just one band they could still play the soloes without it being awkward. Although I think everyone agrees it would have been cool to get longer battling back and forth soloes.
If you watch the live version of the song from Tokyo (there's one copy left on youtube, don't react to it), you can see that Pau plays the entire song with Akane. In the 'dueling section', it's only Pau playing during both Ale and Dany's bits, and the rest it's both but this video doesn't really show it. Interesting that Pau recorded her part on Akane's set and amazed Akane with the power she got out of it. Check out the Billboard-Japan interview of all 8 (use the Japanese version translated by Google, the English version of the interview leaves out a lot), they explain how it was written/recorded and just generally show a ton of love to each other. It was shot in Japan in a warehouse and I think Dany said it was a one-day shoot from 7am-1am lol.
AS much as The warning fans want DPA to stand out, both band have a lot of respect for each other and at least as a Mexican, I can tell you that the (DPA) would never try to outshine the host. From what I have seen of Japanese culture they are also very respectful and gracious, so both band stepped back a bit to make it work, yes Band-maid solos were shorted then usual too. They gave us a test of what they can do together, hopefully next time we get more of both. From what they (The Warning and Band-Main) said in an interview with Billboard Japan (also posted on the regular US site) Kanami wrote the first Demo and they had been trading versions with changes back and forth way before The Warning arrived in Japan.
Clearly, the project took some time and effort in the background to pull it off, well in advance of DPA's trip to Japan. Not just te logistical concerns of scheduling the bands to be in Tokyo at the same time when Both bands are touring and have new albums coming out (TW in late June and BM in late September). Also, I assume both labels had to approve the project. As it expands the market visibility of both bands, I'm sure that wasn't a point of contention. TW has already invited BM to come to Mexico and do a similar joint project and performance. I would expect that to be released as a standalone single or appear on TW's next album. And there is no time frame yet on when that might happen. Remember, this idea took them two years to realize. The demo BM came up with was shared via the Internet with DPA and there was some back and forth on the composition. The bottom line is that this song began with Kanami and she composed it with TW in mind. It was always intended to be included on BM's next album. The two bands have different styles which presented a challenge that they had to overcome. Getting the song and video to work as well as it does is a major accomplishment. There is a reason combining two complete bands for a song has never been done previously (to my knowledge). It's hard. This may be the best way it could be done (that they all could agree on).
Dany said the music video was shot while they were in Tokyo and it took them all day (from 7am to 1am). Dany also said she had to shoot her vocal parts, guitar parts and group parts which was more than anyone else in the shoot had to do because she is both a guitarist, so she had shots with Kanami, and she was offsetting Saiki, and there were the shots of each member performing as an 8 member combined band. TW never upstages anyone to accomplish a solo in their own music, so it's natural they wouldn't do that here. BM is known to have some solos in their songs, even duels between Kanami and Misa. I think the solos for this song were tastefully reserved by comparison. I look forward to what TW comes up with as a "Made in Mexico" collaboration with BM in the future. Dany has said she wants to do something in Spanish.
Besides the fact that it is not polite to outperform the host, they were handing off the parts ... sort of finishing each others sentences, not duelling. All personalities got their bit ... this is not prog to last an hour. I say this is a great first The Band-Maid Warning (as I call this collab) recording. The voices were a little bit hot in the mix, but at least it showed how well Dany was able to match Saiki's timbre. They sound like they're sisters or something.
@@zinoviylubman5553 thank you, I am learning. I had never heard or even heard of Band-Maid until The Warning mentioned they had met them at Aftershock in 2022 and this video. I am interested in hearing more from them they seem to be my kind of rock, so far.
@MaddogJones I can tell you Band Maid is amazing band, since I discovered them for myself almost 2 years ago they very quickly became my #1 favorite band. @@zinoviylubman5553 Thanks for the suggestions I will check them all out. I would tell you the same thing about The Warning. I found them almost 6 years ago when they released their concept album "Queen of the Murder Scene" If you love hard rock/melodic metal check that album out the title track is an absolute banger. I would also suggest Exterminated from their album XXI Century Blood and Z from Error. Their story is absolutely amazing as well and I would also suggest you watch their first cover of Enter Sandman, yes I know a lot of people are tired of that song but give it a shot you'll see these ladies are no joke having done that cover when the bassist was only 9. They were then invited by Metallica to do a cover for the Blacklist album in 2021 the 30th anniversary of Metallica - Metallica (The Black album) and they totally rewrote that song and gave it new life and if it had a solo it would be better than the original. As you may have seen in this video they are very respectful of their hosts and never try to outshine them so maybe that's why they didn't include a solo. Anyway rock on and keep spreading the love!
Yeah. It seems like a lot of people are missing this. It was composed in a higher key than either of them are natural in, so they're both pushing the limit, and they sound similar in head voice, and harmonized really well.
As it is a Band Maid song, you would expect more of a Band maid sound. I not am sure 40-sec of drumming solos works in a track intended to be a single, but I get the sentiment. It's the cross-pollination of the fandoms that is the primary benefit, as you note.
Give credit to *The Warning* to fly out to Japan lay down tracks for the music video, record the music video and rehears with *BAND-MAID* for the live show and also get some sightseeing in. Remember the Army Slogan, "We do more before 9am than most people do all day?" well they have not met *BAND-MAID* or *The Warning* 😏 Overall I think with the limit time I thought everything went really well.
If you pay attention to the sound, Ale's bass is distorted while Band Maid's bass is clean. And when you listen to it, note that Ale is playing with band Maid's drummer in the first verse while Band Maid's bass player is in the second verse with Pau. Now that's a real collab, my friend !
Kanami actually has a Custom PRS! From interviews it's sound like the creation of the song was pretty equal. Miku wrote it first it but it was changed with the help of the Warning. Other things were changed by them too. I love how you see them all work together to make a great video. They make it looks like a battle a bit but to me it's all With not Vs.
Kanami came up with the first idea to the song, and shared it with TW (Pau... since she's their main composer?). Miku did the first lyrics, but since her english isn't on par with TW, they didn't really get finished until they met in Japan and Miku could talk with them about the real idea of the lyrics.
I think it looked like they were having fun doing the song together and that's the most important thing when making music with friends. That being said, like you the hook didn't grab me at first but had to grow on me, and I think it would've been way cooler if they let the instrumental trading parts go longer. They had limited time to put it together and quite the language barrier so I think it was a good first try
It's just a good song, fun, good vibes and respect between the two bands, pretty well balanced in my opinion. It's just a preview of many more collaborations to come 🤗
First, the bands are on equal footing in this. It's NOT a Band Maid song featuring the Warning. Also, it was not a competition or a duel. Also, watch it again. Dany and Saiki had equal time. And, in the live version (I was there) the drum section was more extensive. I can't stress enough this was NOT at all competitive. No ego. By the end, it was obvious how much these girls love and respect each other. I was in tears. THEY did not want to comoete, they wanted to play together.. When TW had to leave Japan, Misa cried when saying goidbye to Ale. If you were there, you'd like this a lot more. Looing furward to Pomona! No way you can do LA too?

It literally says 'Band Maid with The Warning' and it's going to be on Band Maid's album, so it kind of is featuring The Warning, but not as sidekicks, but with respect from Band Maid to make sure they use their release to introduce God-knows-how-many 'Maidiacs' to The Warning. They have mutual respect for each other - I'm hoping for a collab in Mexico between the two, maybe for The Warning's next album? Band Maid wants to do some shows there with them so it's not out of the realm of possibility! Each band lifting each other up!
Plus, even in this video, Akane and Pau are visible and certainly audible while the others are doing their thing. I saw a comment from someone else at their live show about how well the two of them were synchronized in their playing. I know they did take breaks to let each other be highlighted and I believe that all of the ladies really had a great time doing this together. As you say, it certainly wasn't a competition.

@lonelywind3511 Oh yes! The drummers were much more equally dynamic, exciting, and a source of a lot of the emotion, especially when the both git uo, hugged, and hugh fived each other.
Forget about the actual song for a moment, the biggest win for The Warning on this is the exposure to new fans. Based on just the reactions I've seen so far, there are probably a ton of BAND-MAID fans who have no clue about The Warning. This is going to be huge for TW, IMHO. Of course, my opinion plus $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks 😆

Was not really aware of The Warning.....but now I am definately checking out their music! I love that Bass part, it was short but very very growling and makes me want to hear more of the Warning....:)
I get what you are saying. I will also admit that I don't like this song as much as I like the individual songs from each of the two groups. But collabs are hard. I think they did a really good job assembling this one. • The lyrics are a really strong empowering message IMHO • I like that they did not try to do too much, which on one hand makes the music a bit less complex than either band’s other offerings, but it makes it that 8 players can play it and make it clean. It would be really easy to make a big'ol hot mess of this if they all tried to do too much. • The trade-offs really point out to me that each of the instrumentalists are so individually skilled and approach their parts in slightly different ways. No winners or losers. No battle. Just a lovely 4 or 8 beat display of the variety of approaches and talents for a solo section. Do I want more? Heck yeah. But I really liked that you could see how skilled but different they all are. Misa and Ale is a great example. One with a nice crunchy melody deep bass line, followed by some really tasteful slap. • It is nice and compact at 3:21. I have seen plenty of collabs over the years which turn into rambling oeuvres that don't go anywhere musically. This one just feels nice and tidy to me.
It’s not really that the vocals are to high pitched per se as there’s not much dynamic pitch changes like playing 4 ringing notes over and over. But it’s a fun song to watch musicians bounce off each other and it has a positive message. Love the opening and the ending best.
Couple of thoughts about the song. I think it’s as close to a true collaboration as we’ve seen in a long time. Kanami wrote the demo but afterwards both bands went back and forth to build out the song. They’ve also said in various interviews that they worked with each other to split up who does what during the song. Pau was also heavily involved with Miku in writing the lyrics. Considering this and the fact that neither fan base thinks it sounds like their song, I think they succeeded in making something different to each…which is what a collaboration should be. The other big thing for me is that they only had about two weeks in person to get ready for the concert, tweak the song, and record. This probably led to them simplifying some things. The decision to sing entirely in English is probably one of those. This is only B-M’s 4th song entirely in English and Saiki is far from fluent. She actually gave Dani a lot of credit in helping her with it during the recording. I think the solo section is another part that was simplified to show case an aspect and not the entirety of what either group was capable of. Don’t take the negative comments to serious. The trolls have been out in force and I think there’s a little fatigue with some reactors pushing the versus narrative so people are getting defensive and seeing things that aren’t there. Music is subjective so no opinions are wrong, especially when they’re honest. Hope y’all are having a good day.
It feels strange to see fans of The Warning denying the collaboration or marking comments that don't appreciate BAND-MAID with hearts. Many BAND-MAID fans do not reject The Warning, but some The Warning fans try to reject BAND-MAID.

When you become a fan of BAND-MAID, you want to love everything related to them. I feel like I have become more open-minded by getting to know their humanity.This is one of the many reasons why I'm glad I became a fan of BAND-MAID.
I don’t reject BAND-MAID, but I’m not a huge fan. I won’t “reject” them or anything, but it’s just not my thing. Maybe I haven’t heard the right songs I guess. This collab is pretty cool though.
@@nathanriggs1125 We can't force people to like art, let alone music. All I want is for people not to criticize them for trying to be friends. They should be free to do what they like. That's what we fans want. BAD-MAID has grown in 11 years and now writes technical and complex songs. Listen to their early simple songs too. Representative songs include Thrill, Dice, and YOLO. You can see a different side of the vocalist in their acoustic songs. I recommend Catharsis, Sayonakidori, and if you can find the acoustic version of Puzzle.
I think both bands went way out of their way to not make it a competition. I'm coming from jazz and most of the time you put two or more high power soloist on a stage it goes more into competition than music. I think they did a great job of showcasing both bands but held back a lot. If you listen carefully it sounds like Pau is playing when Misa is playing and Ale is playing when Akane is on. They blended the bands masterfully. I really liked this one and can't get it out of my head. I don't love everything on KMF, but many of the songs have really grown on me. I think they set out to please both bands fans, and introduce them to each other's fans. On a different note you still need to check out the Amoeba "What's in my Bag". You will LOVE it.

The Warning DPA have mentioned on several occasions they want to do collaborations…I think Band Maid was an excellent choice for them as they really get along well and respect each other. The song is pretty good and from what I can tell it’s even better live (I saw a fan video so I can imagine a pro shot video would be even better).
I loved it as it's a collaboration and there is mutual respect for each other. The fact that you hear some of TWA saying it sounds like a Band-Maid song and some of the Maidiacs saying it sounds like a The Warning song just shows they did a good job of blending their two styles. It OK if you don't like it, but I would give it a few listens and listen to it for what it is...a collaboration. If you listen to the first verse and chorus, Saiki's voice is pushed more forward. In the second verse and chorus, Dani's voice is pushed more forward. It's just seems her voice blends closer to Saiki's even at a lower level. Then after the "duels" in the third verse and chorus, the levels are even and you can hear both voices. Just my 2 yen thought...take it for what's it worth. 🤘😆🤘
For some reason no one thinks that the goal of both groups was to try something new, and not to do the same thing for the entertainment of fans. And this collaboration is the idea of the girls themselves, not their labels.
I consider that despite the shortness of the song, both bands had a good time.... certainly the moments are too brief to shine, but at least they made each one take part, in the debut of the song Pau exchanged with Akane much more often in the answers. But the images that remain in our minds of the face to face duels throughout the song have been epic.
I appreciate you both have opinions that may upset some people, but we're all adults who can agree to disagree. I love both bands but I would like to see more of Pau, her bouncy energy always makes me laugh. There was a bit of call and response between the instruments, but I would have liked to see more. You can see the love and respect both bands share, I hope they work together again. Maybe a song in Spanish😄
This song is not about BAND-MAID nor is it about The Warning, this song is a great collaboration to create a song between both Bands together and I think the result is sensational and that's good enough for me. ¡¡¡¡¡ BANDMAIDHEAD !!!!!

Band-Maid and DPA/TW met at Aftershock a couple of years ago... they were already fans of each other and both playing sets there gave them the chance to meet and get some pictures... idk when the subject of a collab came up between them but DPA/TW were already wanting to go to Japan... this was their first time there doing 4 or 5 shows, i think... at least one show was co-headliners with Band-Maid... i think that was also the performance where Show Them was debuted with both bands playing together on stage very much like in this OMV... Many of us who are fans of both bands think that MISA ending the song with those bass notes is a shout-out to Ale's ending bass notes to "Survive" Both bands are fans of each other and friends as well since they met a couple of years ago at Aftershock. They have talked about doing another collab but this time in Mexico. This is now the gold standard for how collaborations should be done, Respect for each other's talent. The Warning Army and The Maidiacs combined to form the best fan base in the world.
I was fine with it. To me... they could have added 30 seconds to the song and given the solo a little more time but that may have been a producer decision. I imagine they played it many times with many variations on parts. I thought it was good for a quick turnaround collab.
This is clearly a song written by Band Maid to feature The Warning, both bands have very different styles and so both made adjustments to suit the song. Overall not a bad song although I do prefer both bands on their own, this was pretty cool!

Kanami simplified the composing to move towards the Warning typical style. This was also TW helping BM get USA airtime. The battle and duals were agreed to by both bands....to keep the song time to a specific radio friendly zone.
So TW and B-M met at a US festival in 2022 and said they should collaborate. They got that opportunity this year. They went to Japan and played three shows, one with Band-Maid. TW traveled to Japan two weeks early to write/compose/record with B-M and record a MV. They then played it together at their one concert together. In an interview on the PRS channel, Kanami and Dany said that more collaborations are in the future. Kanami wants B-M to come to Mexico and and Dany wants the collab to be in Spanish. Dany and Kanami play similar PRS guitars in the same color.
I'm pretty sure the writing was finished before The Warning flew to Japan. BM wrote the basic structure and then the song was sent back and forth between Japan and Mexico for changes.
Live, Pau and BM drummer pass the ball back and forth (some people don’t like the word dual lol) a few times in the live show. Also, Ninja, imagine if Lzzy Hale said, “Dany has plenty of guitars.” She wouldn’t have gifted her the Explorer. Or if Matt Balamy says, “Eh, Dany has plenty of guitars.” Dany would not have the only custom mustard yellow Balamy gifted guitar. When you’re passionate and a collector, it’s not about having “enough,” it’s about having at least one of each.

Hmmmm, this is a bit better than you make it, I would say. Its catchy and fun! You are partially right though. The instrumentals do not really get the chance to shine. The singing was above both singers comfort zone. That said - it sounded rather good, I would say. And they were surprisingly similar of tone. Saiki sing better in Japanese. But, the accent did not disturb me, as much as it disturbed you. Foreigners do have an accent, you know! Deal with it. American accents are not always so beautiful either. That said, fun to see you react to this song. The friendship between the bands is one of the more interesting thing that has happened.
The song was cleverly written. Both bands can also include it in their programme. It has the typical length of The Warning songs, but can easily be extended with the typical Band Maid solos. Who is playing the instruments is irrelevant. Everyone can show off their skills. Only the vocals need some work. But I think it would work with just Saiki or Danny's voice. Including the harmonies of Miku or Pau or Ale.
It was on Band Maid's home turf. They hosted so BM got more times to shine. When they come to Mexico I'm sure it will go the other way. The song itself is a bit generic. Still fun. TW's parts were exceptionally simple.
That's exactly what I think. They have already confirmed that they are coming to Mexico and recording songs there. I'm assuming The Warning will write the song there and it will then appear on the 3 Ladies' next album. The song will then also highlight DPA. But that won't happen until 2025.
On live all played but in video they showed drumers tsking turns. If Band maid go to mexico it would be cool if they go when the warning does hole new album in mexico as warm up or eaven join in. They where chalanged to do a spanish song whit them :p
A couple things. First, this song is a 'grower' It grows on you with multiple listenings. I think because you can hear more of what is going on. Second, they were not dueling, they were sharing solos. One would start the solo, and the other would finish the solo. No one was trying to show anyone up, they were all performing for each other. Think of it as a celebration of getting to jam together on a song. Sharing the spotlight and letting everyone shine, while showing restraint and making a fun song. Third, Dany did half the vocals in the song, how much more did you think she was going to do? I think what it was, you didn't recognize all of Dany's vocal parts. Both singers sound so similar in the range they were in, it was hard to hear the difference the first few listens. Now I can tell who is singing without even looking at the video. It's not a talent show, it's a song. Yeah, Pau only got a few seconds, but they all did, Miku included. When given the spotlight, Dany, Ale, Pau, MISA, Kanami, Akane, and Miku all played according to their playstyle.
You missed the point (even your caption is wrong, it's "with" not "featuring"). This was a "collaboration" not a "competition". Both bands had equal input into the final product. It's ok that it's not one of your favourites, and you gave your reasons. We all have personal preferences when it comes to music. Thanks for reacting.

For those who don't know, we used to host a weekly "Japanese Metal Saturday" where we regularly covered Band-Maid as one of Jer's favorite J-Metal/J-Rock bands.We have good size playlists for both bands to show how much we support each. It saddens us people don't know us enough yet to realize we'd never "pit" two bands we love against each other...but alas, time (learning us) will hopefully resolve that issue. About 15 years ago there was a movie/documentary where they put The Edge, Jack White and Jimmy Page together. Three guitarists with different approaches. Jack White is asked: The three of you together, what will happen? and he replied: "Probably a fist fight", then later says: "I will trick them to teach me all their tricks". One might think it's just about learning new techniques, but what Jack wanted to glimpse is the other two's "demon". The Warning has one member with this inner fire, Paulina, and she give away about it in an interview, when she was 16 or 17, i think. BM has two members, which is more then it should, but somehow work around it. They just wanted to see what is behind the door, everything else is side effects, but... since not all of it was revealed, they might try again.
This didn't sound like a collaboration. It sounded like one large supergroup that had been playing together for years. They also looked like they had alot of fun doing this. How often have two whole bands played on one song? Maybe it wasn't a great song but it was still a solid song. And maybe a little bit more could have been too much. But at the same time maybe it could have had a little bit more.
Guys, I love both bands, but my thoughts were similar from the start. I know that they collaborated on the song, but both bands have written better songs on their own. This one just doesn’t give me the total vibes. It’s great to see these ladies all unite though and if they do it again, I’ll be here for it!
Thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。 I witnessed the live debut of this song 😍 that was played as the encore & finale of the special concert by Band-Maid & The Warning on June 12 in Roppongi, Tokyo . My seat was located on the 2nd floor but in the center meaning in front of the two drummers. I was in bliss! It looked to me that Paulina and Akane literally and happily competed like a duel to see which drummer can kick harder enough to break their bass drum in the joint performance. 🤣 (FYI : In the special concert, The Warning, who opened as the special guest, performed so powerful that the Maids were fired up to start their turn with fullest energy as the hostess band. It was fun like a kind of martial arts between two fighters respecting each other. 😄)
I hear a lot of influenced from The Warning in the song, from the “whoaa oooaaahh oooaaahhh”s to the harmonies. I think it would be super simple for BM to have the spotlight, but they didn’t- they not only spent equal time in the spotlight, but they also made sure to title the video “WITH” The Warning.
❤its well done. The time is perfect for radio play and each person had a chance to shine individually. To make those parts any longer would have been too much. The goal is air play. They've met the goal well.

They all got 2 bars each in the musical break, what they did with it was up to them. They weren’t really solos anyway. Both singers got equal lines. There was no competition.
Really appreciate your opinion! I love both bands, but I think that the vocal range and most of the "solo" parts felt more in favor of Band-Maid. Not that it is a competition, but in a sense to allow everyone to show what they can do. And I have no problem with that, they are different bands that have different strengths, and hopefully they'll have more colabs in the future so everyone can shine even more!
I'm firmly convinced that Band Maid and The Warning don't just know each other, they actually like and respect each other (and the work that each band does), Neither would intentionally mistreat or use the other. This was a labor of love and admiration. Right now, The Warning is near the tipping point (not of their career, but of possibly joining "mainstream" [i.e. popular music]. Band Maid is farther away from this, but I'm sure that they can see such a position as being a realistic part of their future {particular if they up the percentage of English lyrics -- I really don't care, but many potential listeners would}. Look at the time of "Show Them" (3:21) Look at the composition and arrangement of the piece. I feel that each band made a conscious effort to create a "radio friendly" song in hopes of getting mainstream "airplay" (please do notice the quotation marks). If so, solo excesses should be avoided (at least for a band "at the door" of fame (if you're Led Zeppelin doing "Houses of the Holy", knock yourself out -- you won't put-off anyone). Both Band Maid and The Warning have too much integrity -- and pride in their work -- to sell-out for fame and money, but both are intelligent enough to use a key moment in their careers wisely. Lastly, there had to be a lot of prep work for an effort as tight and cohesive as this song was. The Warning were only going to be in Japan less than two weeks -- enough time for their own shows, travel, and to perform rehearsals for this song and their shows. Inevitably, a lot of this prep work had to fall on Band Maid. Kanami wrote all (or most) of the music. Band Maid would not have tried to increase their time in the spotlight (they -- and The Warning -- are above that sort thing; the "nature of the beast" (i.e. limited time to make "Show Them" happen), and to make the song hold-up to the artistic standards of both bands -- forced Band Maid to put up the "skeleton framework" for the song before The Warning arrived). The bands are friends, and each of them knows what that word means and what it demands.

Hah hah! Love this collab!😍 I don't follow Band-Maid, but I do like their style, and there's no denying they've been working their way up through the ranks of the new rockers out there. The song, lyric-wise, wouldn't win any awards, but it's a perfect jam for these 2 bands to get on stage together and just have fun! This will put both The Warning and Band-Maid on the map with as much airplay as it has been getting on YT and elsewhere. I don't love this song either. But I personally think it's a proper collab song. I'm also impressed how much better Saiki's pronunciation is compared to a couple of years ago. Two singers' vocals also blend perfectly.

I have said several times that there are several songs that the warning do that are just okay but not to the point that I would skip it on an album play through. Some would call that a bad comment but there are other groups that I love that I scratched entire songs so it would skip that song on the album 😁. What amazes me is you have two bands from different parts of the world with two different styles of rock and as far as I know have never played together ( I think this video was done before the live version in Japan ) and they sound like they have been playing together for years. I have been a Maidiac for years who is now also a member of The Warning Army. It is awesome that 2 best bands on the planet are also good friends.
We've had strong hints from both groups that there will be more, and the next one will likely be in Mexico. I suspect that one will be kind of "The Warning with BandMaid", in the same way this was the other way around. However it works out, I'm here for it!!!
This was a promotional song that will help both bands grow their fan base. It was not meant to be a competition. Small steps, Ellie.
Kanami intentionally made the song with vocals that are higher than usual for both singers. There was a second option, an octave lower. But the singers agreed to the challenge. In addition, the song is made in such a way that both groups can perform it separately.

Can you say "girl power"? Well, Band-Maid and The Warning screamed "GIRL POWER! in this video. This collaboration, which was hard as hell to produce effectively, was incredible. Both groups and the production team NAILED THIS! Band-Maid and The Warning are the new "Power Couple" in rock. They have also hinted that another collab between them is in the future. Can't wait!

It's funny because some fans of The Warning (me included) think it was a more BM song, and then some Band-Maid Fans say it was more of a TW song, and that makes me think that they succeded on the collaboration. Now, this wasn't a battle of the bands, it was two bands that genuinely respect and like each other having fun!!!... those small solos are just the cherry on the cake for the video in my opinion, and if they had tried to showcase everyone talents in more detail that would have been an eight minute song. Hope you find the live version because there you can look how they actually played a lot more together and there are more exchanges. Just my opinion for sure, great reaction nevertheless as usual. I think what some fans aren't thinking about is that Band-Maid has five members vs The Warning having three. Band-Maid simply has more range/freedom in their songs because they have a dedicated guitar player plus a rhythm guitarist vs The Warning having just a vocalist/guitar player. Although they can have similar skills, singing and playing will limited how complex somethings are because it's just harder when trying to focus on both. Which says a lot about how talented The Warning is overall, but that does changes the structure of their songs and the sound you can get out of it. So to me at least, you can hear the Band-Maid in this song because the structure seems to fit their five members, but at the same time it feels like they tried to make the song playable without both bands when they want. So in that way it can feel more The Warning as the structure is a little more simplified knowing they only have three members which throws Band-Maid fans off. This shows they designed the song the best they could to fit with both bands. This also explains the very short soloes because if the song is played by just one band they could still play the soloes without it being awkward. Although I think everyone agrees it would have been cool to get longer battling back and forth soloes.
If you watch the live version of the song from Tokyo (there's one copy left on youtube, don't react to it), you can see that Pau plays the entire song with Akane. In the 'dueling section', it's only Pau playing during both Ale and Dany's bits, and the rest it's both but this video doesn't really show it. Interesting that Pau recorded her part on Akane's set and amazed Akane with the power she got out of it. Check out the Billboard-Japan interview of all 8 (use the Japanese version translated by Google, the English version of the interview leaves out a lot), they explain how it was written/recorded and just generally show a ton of love to each other.
It was shot in Japan in a warehouse and I think Dany said it was a one-day shoot from 7am-1am lol.
AS much as The warning fans want DPA to stand out, both band have a lot of respect for each other and at least as a Mexican, I can tell you that the (DPA) would never try to outshine the host. From what I have seen of Japanese culture they are also very respectful and gracious, so both band stepped back a bit to make it work, yes Band-maid solos were shorted then usual too. They gave us a test of what they can do together, hopefully next time we get more of both.
From what they (The Warning and Band-Main) said in an interview with Billboard Japan (also posted on the regular US site) Kanami wrote the first Demo and they had been trading versions with changes back and forth way before The Warning arrived in Japan.
Clearly, the project took some time and effort in the background to pull it off, well in advance of DPA's trip to Japan. Not just te logistical concerns of scheduling the bands to be in Tokyo at the same time when Both bands are touring and have new albums coming out (TW in late June and BM in late September). Also, I assume both labels had to approve the project. As it expands the market visibility of both bands, I'm sure that wasn't a point of contention. TW has already invited BM to come to Mexico and do a similar joint project and performance. I would expect that to be released as a standalone single or appear on TW's next album. And there is no time frame yet on when that might happen. Remember, this idea took them two years to realize. The demo BM came up with was shared via the Internet with DPA and there was some back and forth on the composition. The bottom line is that this song began with Kanami and she composed it with TW in mind. It was always intended to be included on BM's next album. The two bands have different styles which presented a challenge that they had to overcome. Getting the song and video to work as well as it does is a major accomplishment. There is a reason combining two complete bands for a song has never been done previously (to my knowledge). It's hard. This may be the best way it could be done (that they all could agree on).
Dany said the music video was shot while they were in Tokyo and it took them all day (from 7am to 1am). Dany also said she had to shoot her vocal parts, guitar parts and group parts which was more than anyone else in the shoot had to do because she is both a guitarist, so she had shots with Kanami, and she was offsetting Saiki, and there were the shots of each member performing as an 8 member combined band. TW never upstages anyone to accomplish a solo in their own music, so it's natural they wouldn't do that here. BM is known to have some solos in their songs, even duels between Kanami and Misa. I think the solos for this song were tastefully reserved by comparison. I look forward to what TW comes up with as a "Made in Mexico" collaboration with BM in the future. Dany has said she wants to do something in Spanish.
Besides the fact that it is not polite to outperform the host, they were handing off the parts ... sort of finishing each others sentences, not duelling.
All personalities got their bit ... this is not prog to last an hour. I say this is a great first The Band-Maid Warning (as I call this collab) recording.
The voices were a little bit hot in the mix, but at least it showed how well Dany was able to match Saiki's timbre. They sound like they're sisters or something.

I found them almost 6 years ago when they released their concept album "Queen of the Murder Scene" If you love hard rock/melodic metal check that album out the title track is an absolute banger. I would also suggest Exterminated from their album XXI Century Blood and Z from Error.
Their story is absolutely amazing as well and I would also suggest you watch their first cover of Enter Sandman, yes I know a lot of people are tired of that song but give it a shot you'll see these ladies are no joke having done that cover when the bassist was only 9. They were then invited by Metallica to do a cover for the Blacklist album in 2021 the 30th anniversary of Metallica - Metallica (The Black album) and they totally rewrote that song and gave it new life and if it had a solo it would be better than the original. As you may have seen in this video they are very respectful of their hosts and never try to outshine them so maybe that's why they didn't include a solo.

Yeah. It seems like a lot of people are missing this. It was composed in a higher key than either of them are natural in, so they're both pushing the limit, and they sound similar in head voice, and harmonized really well.
As it is a Band Maid song, you would expect more of a Band maid sound. I not am sure 40-sec of drumming solos works in a track intended to be a single, but I get the sentiment. It's the cross-pollination of the fandoms that is the primary benefit, as you note.
Give credit to *The Warning* to fly out to Japan lay down tracks for the music video, record the music video and rehears with *BAND-MAID* for the live show and also get some sightseeing in. Remember the Army Slogan, "We do more before 9am than most people do all day?" well they have not met *BAND-MAID* or *The Warning* 😏 Overall I think with the limit time I thought everything went really well.
The Warning did two other shows in Japan as the headliner besides the one they did with Band-Maid.

If you pay attention to the sound, Ale's bass is distorted while Band Maid's bass is clean. And when you listen to it, note that Ale is playing with band Maid's drummer in the first verse while Band Maid's bass player is in the second verse with Pau. Now that's a real collab, my friend !
Kanami actually has a Custom PRS! From interviews it's sound like the creation of the song was pretty equal. Miku wrote it first it but it was changed with the help of the Warning. Other things were changed by them too. I love how you see them all work together to make a great video. They make it looks like a battle a bit but to me it's all With not Vs.
Kanami came up with the first idea to the song, and shared it with TW (Pau... since she's their main composer?). Miku did the first lyrics, but since her english isn't on par with TW, they didn't really get finished until they met in Japan and Miku could talk with them about the real idea of the lyrics.
I think it looked like they were having fun doing the song together and that's the most important thing when making music with friends. That being said, like you the hook didn't grab me at first but had to grow on me, and I think it would've been way cooler if they let the instrumental trading parts go longer. They had limited time to put it together and quite the language barrier so I think it was a good first try
It's just a good song, fun, good vibes and respect between the two bands, pretty well balanced in my opinion. It's just a preview of many more collaborations to come 🤗

First, the bands are on equal footing in this. It's NOT a Band Maid song featuring the Warning. Also, it was not a competition or a duel. Also, watch it again. Dany and Saiki had equal time. And, in the live version (I was there) the drum section was more extensive. I can't stress enough this was NOT at all competitive. No ego.
By the end, it was obvious how much these girls love and respect each other. I was in tears. THEY did not want to comoete, they wanted to play together.. When TW had to leave Japan, Misa cried when saying goidbye to Ale. If you were there, you'd like this a lot more.

Plus, even in this video, Akane and Pau are visible and certainly audible while the others are doing their thing. I saw a comment from someone else at their live show about how well the two of them were synchronized in their playing. I know they did take breaks to let each other be highlighted and I believe that all of the ladies really had a great time doing this together. As you say, it certainly wasn't a competition.

Forget about the actual song for a moment, the biggest win for The Warning on this is the exposure to new fans. Based on just the reactions I've seen so far, there are probably a ton of BAND-MAID fans who have no clue about The Warning. This is going to be huge for TW, IMHO. Of course, my opinion plus $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks 😆

I get what you are saying. I will also admit that I don't like this song as much as I like the individual songs from each of the two groups. But collabs are hard. I think they did a really good job assembling this one.
• The lyrics are a really strong empowering message IMHO
• I like that they did not try to do too much, which on one hand makes the music a bit less complex than either band’s other offerings, but it makes it that 8 players can play it and make it clean. It would be really easy to make a big'ol hot mess of this if they all tried to do too much.
• The trade-offs really point out to me that each of the instrumentalists are so individually skilled and approach their parts in slightly different ways. No winners or losers. No battle. Just a lovely 4 or 8 beat display of the variety of approaches and talents for a solo section. Do I want more? Heck yeah. But I really liked that you could see how skilled but different they all are. Misa and Ale is a great example. One with a nice crunchy melody deep bass line, followed by some really tasteful slap.
• It is nice and compact at 3:21. I have seen plenty of collabs over the years which turn into rambling oeuvres that don't go anywhere musically. This one just feels nice and tidy to me.
It’s not really that the vocals are to high pitched per se as there’s not much dynamic pitch changes like playing 4 ringing notes over and over. But it’s a fun song to watch musicians bounce off each other and it has a positive message. Love the opening and the ending best.
Couple of thoughts about the song.
I think it’s as close to a true collaboration as we’ve seen in a long time. Kanami wrote the demo but afterwards both bands went back and forth to build out the song. They’ve also said in various interviews that they worked with each other to split up who does what during the song. Pau was also heavily involved with Miku in writing the lyrics. Considering this and the fact that neither fan base thinks it sounds like their song, I think they succeeded in making something different to each…which is what a collaboration should be.
The other big thing for me is that they only had about two weeks in person to get ready for the concert, tweak the song, and record. This probably led to them simplifying some things. The decision to sing entirely in English is probably one of those. This is only B-M’s 4th song entirely in English and Saiki is far from fluent. She actually gave Dani a lot of credit in helping her with it during the recording. I think the solo section is another part that was simplified to show case an aspect and not the entirety of what either group was capable of.
Don’t take the negative comments to serious. The trolls have been out in force and I think there’s a little fatigue with some reactors pushing the versus narrative so people are getting defensive and seeing things that aren’t there. Music is subjective so no opinions are wrong, especially when they’re honest. Hope y’all are having a good day.
It feels strange to see fans of The Warning denying the collaboration or marking comments that don't appreciate BAND-MAID with hearts. Many BAND-MAID fans do not reject The Warning, but some The Warning fans try to reject BAND-MAID.

This didn't sound like a collaboration. It sounded like one large supergroup that had been playing together for years.
When you become a fan of BAND-MAID, you want to love everything related to them. I feel like I have become more open-minded by getting to know their humanity.This is one of the many reasons why I'm glad I became a fan of BAND-MAID.
I don’t reject BAND-MAID, but I’m not a huge fan. I won’t “reject” them or anything, but it’s just not my thing. Maybe I haven’t heard the right songs I guess. This collab is pretty cool though.

BAD-MAID has grown in 11 years and now writes technical and complex songs. Listen to their early simple songs too. Representative songs include Thrill, Dice, and YOLO. You can see a different side of the vocalist in their acoustic songs. I recommend Catharsis, Sayonakidori, and if you can find the acoustic version of Puzzle.

I think both bands went way out of their way to not make it a competition. I'm coming from jazz and most of the time you put two or more high power soloist on a stage it goes more into competition than music. I think they did a great job of showcasing both bands but held back a lot. If you listen carefully it sounds like Pau is playing when Misa is playing and Ale is playing when Akane is on. They blended the bands masterfully. I really liked this one and can't get it out of my head. I don't love everything on KMF, but many of the songs have really grown on me. I think they set out to please both bands fans, and introduce them to each other's fans. On a different note you still need to check out the Amoeba "What's in my Bag". You will LOVE it.
I completely agree. It clearly shows composer Kanami's excellent sense of balance and BAND-MAID's policy of making all members shine.

The Warning DPA have mentioned on several occasions they want to do collaborations…I think Band Maid was an excellent choice for them as they really get along well and respect each other. The song is pretty good and from what I can tell it’s even better live (I saw a fan video so I can imagine a pro shot video would be even better).
I loved it as it's a collaboration and there is mutual respect for each other. The fact that you hear some of TWA saying it sounds like a Band-Maid song and some of the Maidiacs saying it sounds like a The Warning song just shows they did a good job of blending their two styles. It OK if you don't like it, but I would give it a few listens and listen to it for what it is...a collaboration. If you listen to the first verse and chorus, Saiki's voice is pushed more forward. In the second verse and chorus, Dani's voice is pushed more forward. It's just seems her voice blends closer to Saiki's even at a lower level. Then after the "duels" in the third verse and chorus, the levels are even and you can hear both voices. Just my 2 yen thought...take it for what's it worth. 🤘😆🤘
For some reason no one thinks that the goal of both groups was to try something new, and not to do the same thing for the entertainment of fans. And this collaboration is the idea of the girls themselves, not their labels.
I consider that despite the shortness of the song, both bands had a good time.... certainly the moments are too brief to shine, but at least they made each one take part, in the debut of the song Pau exchanged with Akane much more often in the answers. But the images that remain in our minds of the face to face duels throughout the song have been epic.

I love both bands but I would like to see more of Pau, her bouncy energy always makes me laugh. There was a bit of call and response between the instruments, but I would have liked to see more. This song is not about BAND-MAID nor is it about The Warning, this song is a great collaboration to create a song between both Bands together and I think the result is sensational and that's good enough for me.

Band-Maid and DPA/TW met at Aftershock a couple of years ago... they were already fans of each other and both playing sets there gave them the chance to meet and get some pictures... idk when the subject of a collab came up between them but DPA/TW were already wanting to go to Japan... this was their first time there doing 4 or 5 shows, i think... at least one show was co-headliners with Band-Maid... i think that was also the performance where Show Them was debuted with both bands playing together on stage very much like in this OMV...

Many of us who are fans of both bands think that MISA ending the song with those bass notes is a shout-out to Ale's ending bass notes to "Survive" Both bands are fans of each other and friends as well since they met a couple of years ago at Aftershock. They have talked about doing another collab but this time in Mexico. This is now the gold standard for how collaborations should be done, Respect for each other's talent. The Warning Army and The Maidiacs combined to form the best fan base in the world.
I was fine with it. To me... they could have added 30 seconds to the song and given the solo a little more time but that may have been a producer decision. I imagine they played it many times with many variations on parts. I thought it was good for a quick turnaround collab.

This is clearly a song written by Band Maid to feature The Warning, both bands have very different styles and so both made adjustments to suit the song. Overall not a bad song although I do prefer both bands on their own, this was pretty cool!

Dany’s Lzzy open just ROCKS! The collab…HOLY FUCK! Seamless.
Kanami simplified the composing to move towards the Warning typical style. This was also TW helping BM get USA airtime. The battle and duals were agreed to by both bands....to keep the song time to a specific radio friendly zone.
So TW and B-M met at a US festival in 2022 and said they should collaborate. They got that opportunity this year. They went to Japan and played three shows, one with Band-Maid. TW traveled to Japan two weeks early to write/compose/record with B-M and record a MV. They then played it together at their one concert together. In an interview on the PRS channel, Kanami and Dany said that more collaborations are in the future. Kanami wants B-M to come to Mexico and and Dany wants the collab to be in Spanish. Dany and Kanami play similar PRS guitars in the same color.
I'm pretty sure the writing was finished before The Warning flew to Japan. BM wrote the basic structure and then the song was sent back and forth between Japan and Mexico for changes.
Dany has two PRS. The Blue used in the video and a red just like Kanami.
A very recent YT video is Dany with the Band Maid singer in interview format mostly a promotional for PRS guitars. Definitely worth seeing.

Also, Ninja, imagine if Lzzy Hale said, “Dany has plenty of guitars.” She wouldn’t have gifted her the Explorer. Or if Matt Balamy says, “Eh, Dany has plenty of guitars.” Dany would not have the only custom mustard yellow Balamy gifted guitar. When you’re passionate and a collector, it’s not about having “enough,” it’s about having at least one of each.

You are partially right though.
The instrumentals do not really get the chance to shine.
The singing was above both singers comfort zone. That said - it sounded rather good, I would say. And they were surprisingly similar of tone.
Saiki sing better in Japanese. But, the accent did not disturb me, as much as it disturbed you.
Foreigners do have an accent, you know! Deal with it. American accents are not always so beautiful either.
That said, fun to see you react to this song. The friendship between the bands is one of the more interesting thing that has happened.
The song was cleverly written. Both bands can also include it in their programme. It has the typical length of The Warning songs, but can easily be extended with the typical Band Maid solos. Who is playing the instruments is irrelevant. Everyone can show off their skills. Only the vocals need some work. But I think it would work with just Saiki or Danny's voice. Including the harmonies of Miku or Pau or Ale.
It was on Band Maid's home turf. They hosted so BM got more times to shine. When they come to Mexico I'm sure it will go the other way. The song itself is a bit generic. Still fun. TW's parts were exceptionally simple.
That's exactly what I think. They have already confirmed that they are coming to Mexico and recording songs there. I'm assuming The Warning will write the song there and it will then appear on the 3 Ladies' next album. The song will then also highlight DPA. But that won't happen until 2025.
On live all played but in video they showed drumers tsking turns. If Band maid go to mexico it would be cool if they go when the warning does hole new album in mexico as warm up or eaven join in. They where chalanged to do a spanish song whit them :p
It's not a collaboration, it is the birth of a Supergroup.
A couple things.
First, this song is a 'grower' It grows on you with multiple listenings. I think because you can hear more of what is going on.
Second, they were not dueling, they were sharing solos. One would start the solo, and the other would finish the solo. No one was trying to show anyone up, they were all performing for each other. Think of it as a celebration of getting to jam together on a song. Sharing the spotlight and letting everyone shine, while showing restraint and making a fun song.
Third, Dany did half the vocals in the song, how much more did you think she was going to do? I think what it was, you didn't recognize all of Dany's vocal parts. Both singers sound so similar in the range they were in, it was hard to hear the difference the first few listens. Now I can tell who is singing without even looking at the video.

It's not a talent show, it's a song. Yeah, Pau only got a few seconds, but they all did, Miku included. When given the spotlight, Dany, Ale, Pau, MISA, Kanami, Akane, and Miku all played according to their playstyle.
You missed the point (even your caption is wrong, it's "with" not "featuring"). This was a "collaboration" not a "competition". Both bands had equal input into the final product. It's ok that it's not one of your favourites, and you gave your reasons. We all have personal preferences when it comes to music. Thanks for reacting.

For those who don't know, we used to host a weekly "Japanese Metal Saturday" where we regularly covered Band-Maid as one of Jer's favorite J-Metal/J-Rock bands.We have good size playlists for both bands to show how much we support each. It saddens us people don't know us enough yet to realize we'd never "pit" two bands we love against each other...but alas, time (learning us) will hopefully resolve that issue. About 15 years ago there was a movie/documentary where they put The Edge, Jack White and Jimmy Page together. Three guitarists with different approaches. Jack White is asked: The three of you together, what will happen? and he replied: "Probably a fist fight", then later says: "I will trick them to teach me all their tricks". One might think it's just about learning new techniques, but what Jack wanted to glimpse is the other two's "demon".
The Warning has one member with this inner fire, Paulina, and she give away about it in an interview, when she was 16 or 17, i think. BM has two members, which is more then it should, but somehow work around it.
They just wanted to see what is behind the door, everything else is side effects, but... since not all of it was revealed, they might try again.

Guys, I love both bands, but my thoughts were similar from the start. I know that they collaborated on the song, but both bands have written better songs on their own. This one just doesn’t give me the total vibes. It’s great to see these ladies all unite though and if they do it again, I’ll be here for it!
Thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。 I witnessed the live debut of this song 😍 that was played as the encore & finale of the special concert by Band-Maid & The Warning on June 12 in Roppongi, Tokyo . My seat was located on the 2nd floor but in the center meaning in front of the two drummers. I was in bliss! It looked to me that Paulina and Akane literally and happily competed like a duel to see which drummer can kick harder enough to break their bass drum in the joint performance. 🤣
(FYI : In the special concert, The Warning, who opened as the special guest, performed so powerful that the Maids were fired up to start their turn with fullest energy as the hostess band. It was fun like a kind of martial arts between two fighters respecting each other. 😄)
I hear a lot of influenced from The Warning in the song, from the “whoaa oooaaahh oooaaahhh”s to the harmonies. I think it would be super simple for BM to have the spotlight, but they didn’t- they not only spent equal time in the spotlight, but they also made sure to title the video “WITH” The Warning.

They all got 2 bars each in the musical break, what they did with it was up to them. They weren’t really solos anyway. Both singers got equal lines. There was no competition.
Really appreciate your opinion! I love both bands, but I think that the vocal range and most of the "solo" parts felt more in favor of Band-Maid. Not that it is a competition, but in a sense to allow everyone to show what they can do. And I have no problem with that, they are different bands that have different strengths, and hopefully they'll have more colabs in the future so everyone can shine even more!

I'm firmly convinced that Band Maid and The Warning don't just know each other, they actually like and respect each other (and the work that each band does), Neither would intentionally mistreat or use the other. This was a labor of love and admiration.
Right now, The Warning is near the tipping point (not of their career, but of possibly joining "mainstream" [i.e. popular music]. Band Maid is farther away from this, but I'm sure that they can see such a position as being a realistic part of their future {particular if they up the percentage of English lyrics -- I really don't care, but many potential listeners would}. Look at the time of "Show Them" (3:21) Look at the composition and arrangement of the piece. I feel that each band made a conscious effort to create a "radio friendly" song in hopes of getting mainstream "airplay" (please do notice the quotation marks). If so, solo excesses should be avoided (at least for a band "at the door" of fame (if you're Led Zeppelin doing "Houses of the Holy", knock yourself out -- you won't put-off anyone). Both Band Maid and The Warning have too much integrity -- and pride in their work -- to sell-out for fame and money, but both are intelligent enough to use a key moment in their careers wisely.
Lastly, there had to be a lot of prep work for an effort as tight and cohesive as this song was. The Warning were only going to be in Japan less than two weeks -- enough time for their own shows, travel, and to perform rehearsals for this song and their shows. Inevitably, a lot of this prep work had to fall on Band Maid. Kanami wrote all (or most) of the music. Band Maid would not have tried to increase their time in the spotlight (they -- and The Warning -- are above that sort thing; the "nature of the beast" (i.e. limited time to make "Show Them" happen), and to make the song hold-up to the artistic standards of both bands -- forced Band Maid to put up the "skeleton framework" for the song before The Warning arrived). The bands are friends, and each of them knows what that word means and what it demands.

Hah hah! Love this collab!😍 I don't follow Band-Maid, but I do like their style, and there's no denying they've been working their way up through the ranks of the new rockers out there. The song, lyric-wise, wouldn't win any awards, but it's a perfect jam for these 2 bands to get on stage together and just have fun! This will put both The Warning and Band-Maid on the map with as much airplay as it has been getting on YT and elsewhere. I don't love this song either. But I personally think it's a proper collab song. I'm also impressed how much better Saiki's pronunciation is compared to a couple of years ago. Two singers' vocals also blend perfectly.
