Tyson was an animal. But in this fight, you could clearly see he didn't have the same discipline he had under Cus and Rooney. Less combinations thrown, less lateral movement, looking for that one big shot. I would have loved to have seen what Spinks-era Tyson could have done against Holyfield and Lennox. Nonetheless, every Tyson fight is a blast to watch and he is one of the all-time greats.
You can hella see the different fighter tyson was after he got with don king he never tried hard after that he fought so diferent he turned into just stationary fighter throwing bombs when he used to move that’s what made him great his movement

Let me stress "at that point" : as far as I can see,when the match was stopped, Ruddock was close to being knocked down with apparent no chance to avoid a really harsh punishment.Either way a brave tough boxer,as confirmed in the rematch.

Yup, both good, but at the end of the day. But it was a sensible stoppage, and good win. Ruddock has a good record. I think maybe he commits too much to hits that totally miss.

Razor frustrated and pissed off his fans by not boxing more. He had one of the best jabs of all time, comparable with Larry Holmes. He also had the most dangerous heavyweight left hook at that time since Joe Frazier. I always wished Donovan would have just boxed, stayed outside and jabbed a whole lot more.

Tyson under Don King wasn’t the same fighter, Tyson wasn’t using head movement nearly as much, I don’t think the fight should’ve been stopped that soon but I think Tyson would’ve won regardless .. Both great fighters ..!

Fight ended too early. Ruddock took those punches well. He leaned back to stay out of range. He was not wobbly. If the referee did not stop the fight, it would have continued, but Tyson would still have won.

Just three month after Douglas win by KO on Mike, question "would be have beat by Douglas this Mike?", the my answer is No. Rather, this Razor could have beaten Douglas!!.
Problem with Ruddock is he loaded up to much and tried to take him out with big shots. He should have boxed his way in with combinations and found his distance and worn Tyson down over the rounds.

That was the worst stoppage I’ve ever seen
please, he had a broken jaw that he got 3 rounds earlier, hardly life threatening, Ruddock was gonna lose shortly after but he should have been given the chance, he wanted to continue, many fighters have continued several rounds with a broken jaw even won fights with a broken jaw but I can’t think of one that has ever died.
This isnt even close to the worst stoppage. Watch more boxing.

My favorite Tyson fight. Mike was always the shorter guy with height and reach. But the blue print was out. Weather the storm. Then pick him apart. Wait for him to quit. But not this time. Tyson took big shots and kept fighting. Early stoppage yes. But that's not on Iron Mike.

Ruddock was a waste of great potential. He was such a solid all-around boxer as an amateur and for the first part of his career until he became obsessed with his power. Once that happened, he abandoned his jab and discipline completely.
