Hey I like that tractor it needs some Traction but it will do what you need when you get it right.. Excellent Video and Merry Christmas to You and Heather.

Good morning Reno, Thanks. I'm sure it will be good once I get all of the repairs done, I just need to get the dust worked out of it from it sitting so long...the fellow I got it from really took good care of it. I tinker with it a little every day...pretty soon it should be as dependable as the rest of my other tractors . Thanks again. You have a Merry Christmas as well. Cheers!

@@cecilsshadetreegarage7408 Not a problem Cecil Slow here is off until after the 5th. I may just go ahead and do one more long trip and call it a wrap. I will miss the sky's but not the Bad Weather I have seen lately. I landed in weather last week and used Auto Land and only had 100 or less feet of visibility on the runway. I only had about 20 minutes of fuel left and I advised approach I was Fuel Critical, and I am coming in one way or the other. Seconds after I landed the Runway went to Zero Visibility and I had to stop on the runway and wait for a Follow Me Truck. I told the Tower to Close my Runway completely and to advise everyone twice it is closed. The weather was the worst I had seen in my Career. My alternate airport was closed and so was everything else but never mess with Mother Nature. The Temp and Dew point closed in within minutes totally unexpected by anyone.

Good to see that you got it going again. Seeing your video reminded me that I have a counter weight for the back to give more traction plus somewhere I had chains for it as well.

Hello George, Thanks..I still need to change the starter motor, but that's just a matter of pulling the engine back out. Those chains and a weight would be a game changer for sure. You have a great day.

It's nice to see that you got a Cub Cadet. With chains and weight and maybe a little less air pressure in those rear tires, you just might get somewhere ;)

Good morning Ray. Thank you, I've been looking for one of these for a while. I do have some chain that I may use to build some tire chains.

@@cecilsshadetreegarage7408 It's too bad IH didn't build the differential with locking capability.
An idea when building your tire chains, zig-zag your cross chain back and forth to minimize your fabrication time building them. It will also make for a smoother ride, without having that wide gap between cross links. Although great traction in snow, the chain links round edges don't always bite good on the really hard ice, can act more like skates sometimes.

Some good chains and definitely check the fluid level in the rear end

Starter maybe fine , check the valve's for slow start

Hello Jack, I checked the valves and they are fine. The starter is very slow and takes a lot of amps. I even checked the cables as well along with the timing...all checks out :-( Thanks. You have a great evening.

I’m a big fan of the Cub Cadet 982 in every respect except for the Onan engine. If they were built with a Kohler in them, they would have been pretty close to a perfect garden tractor. Just my humble opinion…
    You guys be well…!
    Merry Christmas!

Good morning my friend. Yeah I totally agree with you, these Onans are hard on gasoline and the starters are a pain to change. I wish it was the diesel they put in these 982 cubs. Thanks again. Merry Christmas to you as well. You take care.
