Your not kidding about how they were built better back then. The fact that these little tractors are still around 50 years later, and are still being used, really shows how well they were built, and they are relatively easy to work on also. I have a model 71, and I just rebuilt and painted a 36" blower for it, so we'll see how it runs this winter.

god u bring back memorys ! you can't beat them older cc s I had twin 17hp with big twin snow blower I bought them both used and I worked both them hard for 14 years mowing 5 acres as well as snow removalin winter and never had a major repair other than tune ups blades ect. sold it when I moved to Florida them older cast iron motors were the best good luck on your winter snow removal and thanks for the memorys !
I just found your channel last night while watching some Wranglerstar videos. I have watched a handful of your videos and have loved every one of them. The filming is excellent. I run a 1982 Wheel Horse to clear snow and I can agree with you that the old things were built to last and that is why they are still around today. One tip for doing your chains, jack you the back of the tractor and deflate the tires. makes it alot easier to wrap and secure the chains. lookin forward to more videos through the winter. Thanks!
No idea how much time you saved me! I have a 1450 as well with the same snow blower and was having trouble finding any good manual for putting this thing on. Glad I could find someone who knew what they were doing!!
What size is the pulley on the Snow Thrower? I have the same Snow Thrower and the pulley is too large and hits the frame of the tractor on my 1975 Cub Cadet 1450. I need to replace the pulley with a smaller one and don't know what size to purchase. Thanks for the insight. I bought this snow thrower from a farm auction and it was on a 1980 Cub Cadet, thus the wrong size of pulley, I assume.
I believe the stock one is 4". I have a slightly smaller pulley (3 1/2") which makes it spin faster. I would strongly suggest not going smaller than a 3" CAST IRON/STEEL pulley. I think the stock part number (4") is H-485247-R91

I had no idea what the video was about when I read the title! but 2 things I wanted to say now that I have watched it: 1) I love how beautiful this video was, even while being incredibly practical in the knowledge you were conveying - you are developing such a great eye for film-making! and 2) heck yeah, things from the 70s are awesome and still kickin! (she says, clearly defensive about her age and usefulness) ;-) Take care brother.
I still have my snowblower attachment from the IH cub cadet tractor I sold off. Makes me wonder if it could be mounted to an atv and powered by a separate motor.

Thanks for the video, can you share any insights on this? I am looking at a 61 original. it has the original smaller narrow rear tires. the motor has been upgraded to the 8hp. the unit comes with a snow thrower. in your a opinion will this unit have enough power to climb a 7% grade driveway and throw snow?

How do you adjust the height of the blower? The hydraulic lift is on lifting mine about half way or 1 inch of the ground.

Does it really go on in about 6 minutes? I have heard on the newer ones it can take as long as 45 minutes.
