There’s a looooot of people that want to hate this game but in all honesty… I have had it for about a day and No Return has been the most gaming fun I have had in months. Love this mode, can’t speak on anything else but for $10 upgrade it’s a hell of a fun time in my humble opinion
I was a critic of the narrative direction and story of second game but got the upgrade because the no return mode is worth it alone. It takes what the game did well ‘gameplay and combat’ and expands it into a fun mode.
never understood the hate this game got. It was a blast in 2020, and i'll happily pay $10 for some more content. was the story perfect? no, but the gameplay made up for it.
The story is basic, a beloved character was handled poorly, and it was treated like a masterpiece by white knight gamers and out of touch critics. It's an 7.5-8/10 being treated like an 11/10.
It's not exactly like the PS4 version in quality mode: If you have VRR the quality mode is uncapped, and the game runs between 40 and 50fps, which is a very noticeable difference compared to 30fps. (the difference between 30 and 40 is more noticeable than the difference between 40 and 60)
I’ve been doing a 2nd playthrough with the director’s commentary and I’m really enjoying it. It’s a shame the sewer list level didn’t make it in as well
Seems like a lot of games are trying out rogue-like modes. Last of Us, God of War, and Hitman are all games I can think of that have given us rogue-like DLC in recent memory. And they all are really good.
They are fun "extras". They could not work as a full game. They only really work because you want to experience the gameplay of that game in a slightly different context. This comment is mainly for any devs reading who think "rogue-likes" are the next big thing... They aren't.

The attempt to implement mundane tasks with the combat mechanics is something I would’ve loved to see. One of my favorite parts of Uncharted 4 was when Nate used some kind of play gun to shoot targets in the attic. It showed his carefree personality but it also gave us an insight into how much he missed the adrenaline and thrill of adventure at that point in his life. Naughty Dog really do try to push the industry forward with unique concepts and mechanics.
They should've just called it the Definitive Edition. Otherwise, for $10, it makes it a no-brainer. The new No Return mode it great. If they added to it with more characters (Bill & Tess) and maybe more encounter areas (TLOU1 locations)
No Return - Why is not a Multiplayer mode.... Split Screen Or 4 Player Survivor Game - Sharing Resources with your team .... They have everything there.... Just one minor adjustment. Playing with 3 other friends in a Survivor, would have been so cool. I am lost for words that this isn't the case. As a solo mode its... fun.... but I would have spent hours playing this with my family.
Idk how hard it would be to make it a splitscreen with at least one more person, but it would undoubtedly be extremely fun! Especially on higher difficulties as you share that tension with someone
@@allandm I agree, spilt screen would be very difficult - Especially how the AI is meant to react, but they had been working on Factions for ages... are you telling me they couldn't use anything they had been working on. There are not enough really good AAA couch co-op games out there. Only .. It Takes Two, and A Way Out. And they are done by the same studio.
@@Pringle72Racing i didn't think it would be super difficult to make it splitscreen. I'm thinking about the Resident Evil 5 mercenaries mode. The enemies and ammo and stuff are pretty much the same if you fight alone or with someone

Yet a truly groundbreaking game, fully open world with a full dangerous eco-system like Days Gone got the reviews at launch that it did and exaggerated claims about same bugs ALL AAA games have been demonstrating to have at launch, i.e nothing major or showstopper

@@babyhoho6745 Well the ps4 version on PS5 runs at 1440p 60 fps, while the PS5 version run with VRR runs either 1440p 80+ fps with further draw distance or on 4k with a frame rather between 40 and 60. But I personally wouldn't pay the full game price of I believe 50$ dollor on it. For 10$ I just take it and have another platinum aside from the additional content.
I think that developers should do more of these types of upgrades to their games. Give us a chance to see how our games are made, have access to some not complete cut content and a bit more interaction like the podcasts and commentary. It gives the plays the chance to see I side the mind of their favourite devs.
I don’t know but feels like Santa Monica put naughty dog to shame. They also did a roguelike DLC for free. No remastered BS, just pure content with answers to things we were actually waiting for. No spoilers here of course

@@Will-ob8xpI think that's true that he isn't, but Yara really isn't either to my memory. I could be wrong, it's been a few years since the last time I played that part. I wonder if she has use of both arms in No Return.
The Texture definitely look better but they didnt really touch the lighting which would have made an even bigger difference, Last of us Part 1's lighting is better and for some reason they didnt improve on part 2

@@farhan007 You should ask Amy Hennig, who thanked everyone at Naughty Dog by name in her Lifetime Achievement acceptance speech, specifically except for Neil
You're basically paying for a texture pack and roguelike mode that has little to no depth like GOW Ragnarok's Valhalla or AC Valhalla's Forgotten Memories. The ''lost levels'' could've been finished, but they chose not to because that would require real effort, something that Naughty Dog is trying really hard to avoid doing.
Lost levels was a massive letdown considering there wasn’t even combat in any of them. Walking simulator with commentary other than a couple shots on a boar.
The graphics are indeed better if you have an 120hz panel! You get fidelity with 40-60 fps. 4k vrr, better draw distances, more detailed clothing, weapons, and character models.
I absolutely love this game mode, feel like it gives me the ability to play way more aggressively than i normally would in the story, mainly due to resource management
why didnt they just make another game? instead of remastering a game that didnt really need remastering.. and it wasnt even out like 5 years.. why waste of effort and time after watching this. i feel bad for them :(
The ten dollars is for the literally brand new game mode with new playable characters. WTF are you talking about? It's merely an expansion pack that's ten dollars. How is this offending you?
Ngl, thought I’d be more pumped to try this again, did play a few hours, but also at 20-25 hours it’s hard to wanna do it all again after 3 playthroughs. Def will watch the cutscenes with the commentary though.
The $10 upgrade was completely worth it. I reimagined playing the game again for the first time on current gen hardware store and it’s one of my favorite franchises under the PlayStation family.
I think that MultiplayerOnlineMicroTransAction Stuff should more be a PC and X Box Thing...Sony and Nintendo more oldscool SinglePlayer and Couch Coop Stuff.

It's not exactly like the PS4 version in quality mode:
If you have VRR the quality mode is uncapped, and the game runs between 40 and 50fps, which is a very noticeable difference compared to 30fps.

Tell me you dont know anything about video game development without telling me you dont know anything about video game development:
