Since you played it, I have a question; Since in the gameplay footage you can see Joel pick up a double barreled shotgun, and able to buy a crossbow, does that mean every character can use every gun? Like, can Abby use the bow and Ellie use the Crossbow?
I don’t think so. You don’t really have a choice over the weapons you acquire in the store/from Gambit rewards since they’re random. In my experience at least I never got the crossbow as Ellie or the bow as Abby. Other characters I can’t speak to as much as to which guns they can/can’t buy in the store just bc I haven’t played one single character enough to know that.
I’m pretty sure you can. It’s too soon to tell for sure but yeah the trading posts are randomized, & the loot drops for completing Dead Drops or Gambits are randomized too so it’s gotta be possible.
I'm excited to play as Lev, but I'm a little disappointed because it looks like they scaled his character model to be around the size of Ellie and Dina. I thought he might play a bit like Part I Ellie, with his size giving him an advantage for stealth, but a disadvantage in direct combat. Scaling up his character model just makes him seem like a reskin of Ellie :( Still very excited regardless. Gonna be going after his Santa Barbara outfit, if it's unlockable.
He definitely feels kinda similar to Ellie in part 2 I would say rather than part I Ellie. Can’t speak with 100% certainty if they scaled him up but definitely doesn’t feel smaller if that makes sense. Also the Santa Barbara outfit IS unlockable. :)

Mainly comparing the size difference when playing as Yara with Lev as a buddy VS playing as Lev with Yara as a buddy. Idk why my brain can't help but notice things like that. Also, that's awesome to hear! That'll be the first thing I go for. Abby's 80's Outfit also looks sick, can't wait to use it + Ellie's Seattle Day 2 Outfit. Also hoping Ellie can wear Joel's Jacket. I've been counting the days until release. 3 more days, so close, yet feels so far 😅

I know it was very hard for you to compare this game to Corey in the house on the DS. however, I applaud you for staying unbiased, even when presented with such masterpieces as Cory in the house.
They’re a separate thing. You can select the individual levels on their own screen. When you start them you get a short intro video with Neil Druckmann giving background and during the levels you get commentary from people who worked on them.
Thanks! They haven’t announced a PC release yet so there’s nothing official. I really hope they do bring it to PC though since mods in Part I were really fun.
@@j.t.6741 I am hoping they learned from the last PC release and worked out all the kinks involved so itll actually be a good release. Right now part 1 is actually stable i have it on PC and i only experienced one bug and i just had to restart the game.
Paying 10$ for this amount of extending content is a BIG plus. New levels, non story mode gameplay, plus getting the chance to play as other characters from the series as well. Free guitar mode. I’m glad they did it. It’s worth it.👌🏾
How do you get p credits for skins and other things? do you have to complete achievements to get more? (I have the remastered version and have been wondering)
Looks cool to play for a few days but factions could’ve been a huge multiplayer game. I’ve loved naughty dog since jak and daxter but tlou 2 story was a big letdown and giving up on factions is even a bigger letdown.
You can’t change the difficulty mid game, but can select the difficulty when you first start. So if you pick moderate and want a harder difficulty you have to restart the run to change it.
I love the game modifiers especially after beating it 4 times before the standard way . This time is the best using unlimited ammo and unlimited crafting. I love the explosive arrows and the silence smg Ellie has. Ripping through enemies is a fun time 😂
Depends on what television you have you can turn performance mode off and you will see a great difference it depends on what type of Television you have and in settings
one thing i think people don't realise is we're no longer in the era where graphics need to be improved, that gap was ps3 to ps4, ps4 to ps5 has been more performance upgrades
Definitely still fun to play as! I relied more on my gun while playing as them (since both have much better starting guns than pretty much everyone else). Also I felt super badass as Joel when punching an enemy, I just had to keep a distance and shoot more often compared to frequently dodging as Ellie.
Did the upgrade from the ps4 version and was $15 Aussie dollars. TBH , I can't really seem much better visually than playing this game on ps5 but the ps4 version. The only thing I can really notice so far is the load speed is super fast. Does the big deal with any extra sections
Yes! That is something I forgot to mention in the video (put it in the pinned comment) but when you see a picture like that it means you get an ally for that encounter.
What do you mean by "PS5 [OG]" version? Do you mean the PS4 remaster version played on PS5?. As I know, there's no LTOU Part 2 native PS5 game before the PS5 remaster, so you must be referring to PS4 remaster on PS5 as "OG" , correct?
I wonder if this means we'll be getting this on PC sometime this year, similar to how part 1 is available on Steam. Hopefully, if it is on PC in the future it will be optimized at the launch
That’s what I’m hoping for! A PC port of this game would be awesome (assuming it’s optimized well). The mod possibilities are endless, especially with all the playable characters in No Return.
Idk if this happened for other people but when i went from playing tlou 2 on ps4 to ps5 it gave me intense motion sickness but the remastered doesn’t. Not sure why this is but there is definitely a noticeable difference
pls i have to ask if they added the feature to replay the cinematics like you can do in the remake of part 1 😭😭 one of the most annoying things is that you cant in the og p2
I'm curious to know this too. It would make a lot of sense if they did, because they added the director's commentary for cinematics only - so if you just wanted to hear the commentary without replaying the entire game you should be able to.
No idea why they chose Remastered as the subtitle. Easily could've gone with 'Complete' or 'Definitive' Edition, or something along those lines. Game's barely 3 years old. They just wasted a perfectly good subtitle for a version of the game that didn't need it, when they could've saved if for the PS6 port later down the years, lol.
Funny you say that 3 (and a half) years old is too recent for the new version to be called "Remastered", when The Last of Us Remastered came out less than 1 year after The Last of Us. Honestly "complete" and "definitive" are just buzzwords, but they usually carry the connotation that there used to be extra content sold separately which is now included by default in the new version. TLOU2 had no DLC so that doesn't really apply. "Remastered" fits better because they did literally remaster it, and it matches what they did with the original game.

If you transfer save data this also transfers all the credits you earned in the game to unlock extras, so you can go straight into unlocking skins without having to beat the game again.
I am LOVING the remaster. The lost levels are really cool the guitar free play is a nice addition and no return is amazing. It has a lot of replayability and im glad I could import my ps4 save since ive never done new game plus and now this gives me the opportunity to. Definitely worth the $10 and if you're on ps5 and buying for the first time, its worth $50. And im sure it will go on sale in the near future if you are unsure about spending the $50.
Never liked the story and all that but the game play is perfect and IL be buying the 10 dollar upgrade just for the lost levels no return and the game play Also I'm glad the loading screen is still in the ps5 version I know it sounds weird but something about the butterflys flying in the light while surrounding by pure darkness is so mesmerizing like its beautiful the same feeling I got when seeing the spores in the first games loading screen when I was little (those ps3 loading times took forever)
The ps3 TLOU loading screen looked sick (tho it did take awhile just like TLOU2 on ps4). Awesome that you’re picking it up. The remaster is great whether you like the story or not imo just bc the gameplay is so fun in No Return
Nice upgrade, but I was kinda thinking that the lost levels would be fully developed and integrated into the main story, instead they are just pre- alpha versions in the Extras. They had 3 years since release to flesh them out fully. But I guess Druckman knows that the story he build is just way to controversial and told in the wrong way, he has to much pride to " fix" anything.
Well, they cut them out of the game for good reasons I assume (which they'll talk about in the in-level commentary). This isn't TLOU2 Extended, the Lost Levels are more like the Insomniac Museum in early Ratchet and Clank games. Just a fun peek at cut content. Like, when a classic movie gets re-released on Blu-ray and they include newly uncovered (but unfinished) deleted scenes as extras, is your reaction that they should have finished and edited the deleted scenes back into the movie, and the only reason they didn't do that is because they were lazy? Also, these levels don't change anything fundamental about the story, so their exclusion from the main story mode was nothing to do with Neil Druckmann being too prideful to change his story. Including them would have just made the game worse paced.
I was hoping they would release a longer game as a Director's Cut Edition, but they didn't do that. I already have The Last of Us Part I on disc for PlayStation 5. I'm not sure if I should buy Part II Remastered as well? I really love this game series much more than the Uncharted games.
You can do the upgrade with the disc OR digital copy. So if you own the disc it’s still a £10 upgrade you just need to insert the disc to play every time.
Ps4 disc versions upgrades allow you to download the ps5 digital version, but require the disc inserted to play. You still need to download the full game online
let's put it this way: if you didn't like the game it's not worth it, if you did, it is, especially if you have any interest at all in the bts or rogue-like freeplay mode or even the sophisticated string-instrument simulator mode they put in
I’d say it is, yes. The new game mode No Return is pretty fun. Repetitive after a bit but still a quick fun way to do different scenarios of being a badass.
Yes it is.. The HDR and reflections are improved (well... I wouldn't say greatly but it's something I noticed)....when you throw in the new mode it's well worth $10
I personally never liked the story but I will say that the game is worth it (mainly if you have the 10$ discount) because No Return is honestly really fun and it is nice to be able to play different characters. I do feel it needs a little tweaking, like every character can get every weapon by random chance, ai spawns, maybe more maps and tracking at the start of an encounter and a few other things but the gameplay and No Return makes it really worth it imo
i didn't pre order it since i had the ps4 version but now when i check on the store the ps5 version isn't there do i have to wait until the actual release date? (1/19)
If you have the ps4 version the $10 upgrade won’t show up until the game officially releases. Idk why they did it that way but basically the preorder only shows the $50 game right now.
Well they are going to have a Daily Run with leaderboards and stuff so I say at least play it once per day after the trophies just to see what your score is gonna be. Also everyone is going to have the same character and seed for daily run so that should be interesting.
Can anyone confirm that paying the £10 upgrade will give you a fresh trophy list? I know he says it in the video, but since PlayStation gave him this, I'm not sure if the PS4 upgrade would be any different than a pure PS5 purchase.
It should be a new trophy list for everyone (the copy I got should be the same as the normal one once it’s officially released). Naughty Dog posted some more details about it on their website and said in a tweet “Your previously earned Part II trophies on PS4 will transfer over to #TLOU2Remastered on PS5, including your earned platinum.” Which to me implies the same thing that it’s a new trophy list/displays as an entirely new game in your profile so you can re-earn the trophies or auto-unlock them when you import saves.
Also if it wasn’t clear: whether you upgrade from PS4 or buy the game on PS5 it should give you the same game (for reference I already owned a ps4 digital copy though I see your concern since the code I got was for the full game).
Looks awesome but.....no doubt will look even better and run faster on the ps6 difinive/complete edition - you know there will be another release down the line
I have a challenge for the last of us here are the rules 1. Can’t use medkits 2. Can only use candy bars for health 3. Have to play on survivor 4. Can’t upgrade melee or craft shiv 5. Have to kill all bloaters Have fun!
As far as I know there is no way to move on with the story without killing the bloaters in the last of us part 2, sneaking past a bloater was only possible in the last of us part 1 when you are in the college campus or that level when you are passing through the highway tunnels

Yep you should be able to import your save easily. There’s an option in story mode that says “import save” and if your ps4 game saves are on the console already then it should load up with no issues.
And what if I would want to import my PS5 save once my NG+ is complete back on the PS4 to get the platinum there as well (only missing 2-3 collectibles/upgrades trophies from PS4)? Could a started NG+ on PS4 (currently have), finished on PS5 (plan on doing) be reimported on PS4 for the double platinum? Or once I import my PS4 save, it creates a separate PS5 save that can’t be considered for PS4 trophies?
I would say no. The story is easy enough to jump into if you REALLY want to, but the first game is fantastic and 100% should be played before this one. IMO this game just won’t hit as hard emotionally if you didn’t play the first one.
I would love an Uncharted original trilogy remastered, butttt at this point I’d rather see something new from ND whether it’s Uncharted, TLOU, or a new franchise
You don’t need ps plus. There’s an option under story mode for “import save” and when I selected that all my saves from the ps4 version of the game showed up. So if you have the original game on your console already, then the saves should just show up once you select “import save”. If they’re not on the console yet you’ll need to transfer them either with a USB or with cloud saves (cloud would require ps plus).
Whoever decided its a good idea to remaster a nearly 3 year old game needs to be fired. You can literally buy the ps4 game of this and play on your ps5. Not much difference
Oh trust me I asked myself that question while recording that footage bc it’s such an easy plat lmao but the 83 hours is bc I replayed it for a challenge video beating the game with no upgrades and there’s a couple trophies like getting 25 knockouts with Peter’s venom ability and finding Miles and Phin’s trophy that I just didn’t get to do yet.
It's definitely worth 10 dollars if you already own it or the 50 dollars if you don't. One of the best games ever made with now unlimited replayability.
on the one hand, I and a lot of people are miffed we're already on two remasters and no part 3 in sight. On the other hand, given how Part 2 went down. Probably for the best there isn't a part 3 and we can keep seeing Ellie's character assassination.

I've wanted a pure gsmrplay mode because I love TLOU2 combat. It's so well done.

Definitely still fun to play as! I relied more on my gun while playing as them (since both have much better starting guns than pretty much everyone else). Also I felt super badass as Joel when punching an enemy, I just had to keep a distance and shoot more often compared to frequently dodging as Ellie.
Did the upgrade from the ps4 version and was $15 Aussie dollars. TBH , I can't really seem much better visually than playing this game on ps5 but the ps4 version. The only thing I can really notice so far is the load speed is super fast. Does the big deal with any extra sections

Yes! That is something I forgot to mention in the video (put it in the pinned comment) but when you see a picture like that it means you get an ally for that encounter.

What do you mean by "PS5 [OG]" version? Do you mean the PS4 remaster version played on PS5?. As I know, there's no LTOU Part 2 native PS5 game before the PS5 remaster, so you must be referring to PS4 remaster on PS5 as "OG" , correct?

I wonder if this means we'll be getting this on PC sometime this year, similar to how part 1 is available on Steam. Hopefully, if it is on PC in the future it will be optimized at the launch
That’s what I’m hoping for! A PC port of this game would be awesome (assuming it’s optimized well). The mod possibilities are endless, especially with all the playable characters in No Return.
Idk if this happened for other people but when i went from playing tlou 2 on ps4 to ps5 it gave me intense motion sickness but the remastered doesn’t. Not sure why this is but there is definitely a noticeable difference
pls i have to ask if they added the feature to replay the cinematics like you can do in the remake of part 1 😭😭 one of the most annoying things is that you cant in the og p2
I'm curious to know this too. It would make a lot of sense if they did, because they added the director's commentary for cinematics only - so if you just wanted to hear the commentary without replaying the entire game you should be able to.

No idea why they chose Remastered as the subtitle. Easily could've gone with 'Complete' or 'Definitive' Edition, or something along those lines. Game's barely 3 years old. They just wasted a perfectly good subtitle for a version of the game that didn't need it, when they could've saved if for the PS6 port later down the years, lol.
Funny you say that 3 (and a half) years old is too recent for the new version to be called "Remastered", when The Last of Us Remastered came out less than 1 year after The Last of Us.
Honestly "complete" and "definitive" are just buzzwords, but they usually carry the connotation that there used to be extra content sold separately which is now included by default in the new version. TLOU2 had no DLC so that doesn't really apply. "Remastered" fits better because they did literally remaster it, and it matches what they did with the original game.

I have a question if I transferred my saved data, can I directly use the skins? Or I have to finish the game first?
If you transfer save data this also transfers all the credits you earned in the game to unlock extras, so you can go straight into unlocking skins without having to beat the game again.

I am LOVING the remaster. The lost levels are really cool the guitar free play is a nice addition and no return is amazing. It has a lot of replayability and im glad I could import my ps4 save since ive never done new game plus and now this gives me the opportunity to. Definitely worth the $10 and if you're on ps5 and buying for the first time, its worth $50. And im sure it will go on sale in the near future if you are unsure about spending the $50.

Never liked the story and all that but the game play is perfect and IL be buying the 10 dollar upgrade just for the lost levels no return and the game play
Also I'm glad the loading screen is still in the ps5 version I know it sounds weird but something about the butterflys flying in the light while surrounding by pure darkness is so mesmerizing like its beautiful the same feeling I got when seeing the spores in the first games loading screen when I was little (those ps3 loading times took forever)
The ps3 TLOU loading screen looked sick (tho it did take awhile just like TLOU2 on ps4). Awesome that you’re picking it up. The remaster is great whether you like the story or not imo just bc the gameplay is so fun in No Return
Nice upgrade, but I was kinda thinking that the lost levels would be fully developed and integrated into the main story, instead they are just pre- alpha versions in the Extras. They had 3 years since release to flesh them out fully. But I guess Druckman knows that the story he build is just way to controversial and told in the wrong way, he has to much pride to " fix" anything.
Well, they cut them out of the game for good reasons I assume (which they'll talk about in the in-level commentary). This isn't TLOU2 Extended, the Lost Levels are more like the Insomniac Museum in early Ratchet and Clank games. Just a fun peek at cut content.
Like, when a classic movie gets re-released on Blu-ray and they include newly uncovered (but unfinished) deleted scenes as extras, is your reaction that they should have finished and edited the deleted scenes back into the movie, and the only reason they didn't do that is because they were lazy?
Also, these levels don't change anything fundamental about the story, so their exclusion from the main story mode was nothing to do with Neil Druckmann being too prideful to change his story. Including them would have just made the game worse paced.

I was hoping they would release a longer game as a Director's Cut Edition, but they didn't do that. I already have The Last of Us Part I on disc for PlayStation 5. I'm not sure if I should buy Part II Remastered as well? I really love this game series much more than the Uncharted games.
so the upgrade for £10 is only if you have the game online and not the disc?
You can do the upgrade with the disc OR digital copy. So if you own the disc it’s still a £10 upgrade you just need to insert the disc to play every time.
Ps4 disc versions upgrades allow you to download the ps5 digital version, but require the disc inserted to play. You still need to download the full game online

I’d say it is, yes. The new game mode No Return is pretty fun. Repetitive after a bit but still a quick fun way to do different scenarios of being a badass.

Yes it is.. The HDR and reflections are improved (well... I wouldn't say greatly but it's something I noticed)....when you throw in the new mode it's well worth $10

I personally never liked the story but I will say that the game is worth it (mainly if you have the 10$ discount) because No Return is honestly really fun and it is nice to be able to play different characters. I do feel it needs a little tweaking, like every character can get every weapon by random chance, ai spawns, maybe more maps and tracking at the start of an encounter and a few other things but the gameplay and No Return makes it really worth it imo

If you have the ps4 version the $10 upgrade won’t show up until the game officially releases. Idk why they did it that way but basically the preorder only shows the $50 game right now.

Well they are going to have a Daily Run with leaderboards and stuff so I say at least play it once per day after the trophies just to see what your score is gonna be. Also everyone is going to have the same character and seed for daily run so that should be interesting.
Can anyone confirm that paying the £10 upgrade will give you a fresh trophy list? I know he says it in the video, but since PlayStation gave him this, I'm not sure if the PS4 upgrade would be any different than a pure PS5 purchase.
It should be a new trophy list for everyone (the copy I got should be the same as the normal one once it’s officially released). Naughty Dog posted some more details about it on their website and said in a tweet “Your previously earned Part II trophies on PS4 will transfer over to #TLOU2Remastered on PS5, including your earned platinum.” Which to me implies the same thing that it’s a new trophy list/displays as an entirely new game in your profile so you can re-earn the trophies or auto-unlock them when you import saves.
Also if it wasn’t clear: whether you upgrade from PS4 or buy the game on PS5 it should give you the same game (for reference I already owned a ps4 digital copy though I see your concern since the code I got was for the full game).

As far as I know there is no way to move on with the story without killing the bloaters in the last of us part 2, sneaking past a bloater was only possible in the last of us part 1 when you are in the college campus or that level when you are passing through the highway tunnels

Yep you should be able to import your save easily. There’s an option in story mode that says “import save” and if your ps4 game saves are on the console already then it should load up with no issues.
And what if I would want to import my PS5 save once my NG+ is complete back on the PS4 to get the platinum there as well (only missing 2-3 collectibles/upgrades trophies from PS4)?
Could a started NG+ on PS4 (currently have), finished on PS5 (plan on doing) be reimported on PS4 for the double platinum?
Or once I import my PS4 save, it creates a separate PS5 save that can’t be considered for PS4 trophies?

I would say no. The story is easy enough to jump into if you REALLY want to, but the first game is fantastic and 100% should be played before this one. IMO this game just won’t hit as hard emotionally if you didn’t play the first one.

how do i import my save data? do i need ps plus?
You don’t need ps plus. There’s an option under story mode for “import save” and when I selected that all my saves from the ps4 version of the game showed up. So if you have the original game on your console already, then the saves should just show up once you select “import save”. If they’re not on the console yet you’ll need to transfer them either with a USB or with cloud saves (cloud would require ps plus).

Oh trust me I asked myself that question while recording that footage bc it’s such an easy plat lmao but the 83 hours is bc I replayed it for a challenge video beating the game with no upgrades and there’s a couple trophies like getting 25 knockouts with Peter’s venom ability and finding Miles and Phin’s trophy that I just didn’t get to do yet.

It's definitely worth 10 dollars if you already own it or the 50 dollars if you don't. One of the best games ever made with now unlimited replayability.
Imagine buying a new gpu and paying 10 dollars to bump up graphics settings from medium to ultra.
on the one hand, I and a lot of people are miffed we're already on two remasters and no part 3 in sight. On the other hand, given how Part 2 went down. Probably for the best there isn't a part 3 and we can keep seeing Ellie's character assassination.
