Yeah I have an old 30-30 and a an older marlin lever action I can't off the top of my head remember the number but it's chambered in 35 Remington and it's been one of my favorites as far as lever action's.
That is a fine looking firearm! Agreed can't wait to see the 336's . I picked up a Rem/Marlin in 336 in a divorce sale that had never been shot. I ran 8 rounds through it and put it back in the box and sold it the same day. It was the parkerized and checkered matte finish stock. I didn't care for it all around. Action or fit and finish. I trust Ruger to fix all of those problems especially after seeing this.
What an awesome looking gun , maybe someday I'll add one to my collection. With the other one that I have. The only thing I would like is a super long Barrel in one of those 1895s. Say 24 in

I just got a new ruger made 1895sbl and holy hell it is the most beautifully finished and smooth lever gun that I’ve ever touched. (Besides a custom gun of course)
So here it is the Ruger/Marlin they will be guiding us into the future. I know without a doubt Ruger want to make us proud to own a Marlin Rifle once again with the History behind Marlin rifles over the Years! Outstanding Job Ruger!
I know it's a GREAT looking piece. I'm just a sucker for the classic looks of an octagonal barrel. However, if I was at my LGS an REALLY wanted a guide gun, and that one was on the wall...I'd probably still buy it.

Fantastic is spot on! Great cinematography y'all. It really showcased how beautiful that thing really is. It also gave me a thought, lever vs bolt action, what's better and why? Stronger? Faster? More reliable? Etc.
You could do a beauty comparison video with the old tape covered lever gun with history to a new beauty queen that will likely never see much action. Beauty and the Beast.
This is the gun that everyone likes to look at, but few people will buy. It's not fantastic to sling lead at $2.00+ down range. They should have come out with their Marlin Model 1894 CSBL 357 Mag Lever-Action Rifle with Black and Grey Laminate Stock. That's a rifle to get excited about that has affordable ammo to load it with.
Someone from Ruger on Tom Gresham's show a while ago said they'd release the new 336 before deer hunting season. So far, I just don't see that happening. We have 3 versions of the .45-70.
Thanks for sharing George. Not bad. Buttstock seems a little proud of the recoil pad spacer. Overall much better than the previous corporation's efforts out of the gate. Would be neat in walnut.
I noticed that is well. But it's not nearly as bad as it appears in the video. My guess is the stock extends beyond that spacer by .015" at most. It was just the way the light was hitting it that made it look that way.
if any company needed to make Marlin great again it was definitely Ruger such a beautiful gun Marlin guns deserve that kind of quality

Ruger did marlin proud. I was just looking at the trapper,it's beautiful!
I'm really liking the fit and the finish of that rifle. The bead blasted blued finish is great. It will help keep rust issues in check.
Every time I drive past the old shut down abandoned Marlin plant I’m reminded of what they took from us.

Won't happen....Direct competition for the 10/22.....and besides, the 10/22 is a much better platform with more aftermarket support.
