Some of those Finnish words were written incorrectly, that's why google didn't understand them, so not your fault :D

Last week I had “Learn Finnish With Comedy” come up in my TH-cam recommended list and spent hours of hilarity trying to remember Finnish (and learn the ruder words that the adults never used in my presence). I’m a first generation Canadian with Finnish parents and learned English in elementary school. I’m in my sixties now and haven’t heard much Finnish in over forty years, so I’ve forgotten most of it. I started watching your videos a couple of days ago and I’m impressed with what you’ve accomplished. I added Google translate to my phone for all the words that keep popping in my head.
I’d like to know if you have any favourite words. I have two: Nuha, which is a cold; to me it sounds like blowing your nose when your head is really stuffed up. The other is ompelukone, which is a sewing machine. I always thought that my mum’s sewing machine sounded like ompelu, ompelu, ompelu, ompelu, etc.

Yes the finnish language has different dialects based in different areas in Finland. For example the Turun murre (Turku dialect), Stadin slangi (Helsinki slang), and many more (including the Savon murre ofc). And yes these dialects will propably make things harder for you. xD
I remember when in eighties I was a mailman in Central Helsinki and I delivered mail to some company and there was a blackest black man on the reception and he aswered me in perfect savo dialect. It was so uncanny. I started laughing and he strated laughing and then he asked me that was it because how he speeks fiinish. And I had to tell yes. Told that he gets it a lot. Story was that he was one of the students from Uganda that were brought to Kuopio's forest aggricultural U to learn how to fight deforestation in Uganda. After getting his diploma he had decided to stay in Finland as he had found a girlfriend here. Was studying in the forestry department on Helsinki U and having the job for expenses of living. I had few beers with him the next couple of weeks but the friendship didn't develop.
