These bit did a great job cutting cherry going mostly cross cutting, left a few fuzziest cleaned up with the @gatorfinishing micro zip with 220g, but zero chip out great to see! I then filled it with @totalboat epoxy with @blackdiamondpigments_com Bora Bora blue. The board was finished with Walrus Oil Cutting Board available on our website and the cutting board was finished!

Great presenter; no shouting, no unnecessary music, no ego.
I appreciate that!
This is one of the best CNC cutting board videos I've seen, nicely done.
Thank you, I'm glad to hear that!
Popping the grain and doing a final pass is a brilliant tip! Thanks!
Thanks David, glad it was helpful!
I agree!
Gorgeous! The board came out looking amazing
Appreciate that!
Trabalho maravilhoso, parabéns ao maquinário. A beleza da arte em madeira é o trabalho manual.
Great cutting board!!!
I love your jig.. Great idea!!
Great looking cutting board. I miss those lakes, a lot of good times! I was at Ft. Wood for awhile 💚🇺🇸💚!
Thanks!
Great project. Did not get to see the lake though. Popping the grain twice was a great tip.
This is so beautiful!! I think I found my dream job, buy my husband a CNC. Thank you for convincing me. I’ll tell him to watch you first.
Very cool video. I enjoyed watching your process. Thanks
Thank you for an interesting and informative video.
A quick point on woodworking terminology: When you used water to "pop the grain", you were "raising the grain". The only reason I mention this is because the terms "raise the grain" and "pop the grain" have commonly understood woodworking meanings. Raising the grain is a term that means using water (or a water based finish) to get the wood fibers to stand up so it can be sanded smooth (or, in this case, cut off on the CNC with a very light final pass).
Popping the grain means using an oil finish to get the grain to 'pop' visually. It allows the wood to show off to its full visual potential. (A good example of this can be seen at the end of the video with the Walrus Oil is applied. It transformed the look of the cherry -- the grain popped!
Thanks David :)
LMAO
You are making me want to upgrade my CNC router!
Beautiful project Matt. Great job! :)
Thank you!
Beautifull Piece of Artwork
Love that router table jig
Thank you!
Fantastic video
Very nice! Well done!
Thank you.. that was awesome
Only one word wonderful
Nice cutting board at the right size.
Hello
LOTTO life for the WIN.
I really like your work bro👍‼️❤️💯☺️
We appreciate your comment, thank you!

Nice job. Question, what is the pigment brand your using??
Just a quick tech tip. Rather than removing the 2nd piece of tape then having to rezero your machine and taking these extra steps just hit go to zero, then command Z-.005 OR ??? and then zero the Z axis. Just a little quicker and a bit more accurate.IMO but still great job.
I am loving my M1000.....
For Z offsets, I use a precision 123 block. Really quick and super repeatable. I drop the tool below the 123 block and move it up until I cannot feel the tool while moving the block, then back down .001".
From there is easy to tell I'm 1" above my work(or WCS) and I can offset a couple thou if needed in a controlled way. Highly recommend over the paper method.
Thanks!
Can you do a video on the vacuum table and vaccum you use please.
Nice try on the microjig sale...LOL. Cool project. Thanks for the info
Ótimo trabalho
Great job nice board! " which is exactly what we want"

Just t beautiful. I am watching this for the first tine. I know nothing of what you say lol. Fab Vlog. So much info. I guess this machine cost a packet. x We move in a few years and we want to start working with wood. X Do you have an .more Vids to see what this baby can do.. . Cheers.

good stuff!
Appreciate it!
Awesome work.
Love the way you deliver the information in the content.
Saving money for my setpcraf.
I have a question on this machines they have a page with offsets for each tool on the rack or you have to take a reference every time you want to adjust the reference.
You adjusted your ( z ) what other way to do it ?
Great work like all ways.
Blessings from Cypress Texas.
Your amigo ( friend ) Jesse.
Thanks so much for the kind words. Yes, there is an offset feature, so I measure all tools off the touch off probe, then measure tool 1 off of the material and it sets the z-zero position for all of the other bits automatically as it knows the difference in length between each bit.
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer.
Enjoy your day and your family.
very good your work. friend, please give us the link for pneumatic support and cutters I live... in Brazil and I'm starting now in cnc
Boa tarde, ótimo trabalho, essa sua cnc qual fabricante? Sou do Brasileiro!
it LOOKS nice but will cup like mad within a year, did a similar table and its more like a shallow bowl now.
Great
This is perfect timing. Thank you for the video. How fast are the letters engraved? (feed/speed).

@@jezaelp Very welcome!
great job. One question, the epoxi dont be toxic in contact whit food?
Thank you! No, once it is cured it is non toxic to food
Just curious, why couldn’t you cut the text first, a little deeper than usual, and then run the flattening pass after the epoxy is hardened? That way you don’t have to worry about getting the tool at the right hight or sanding to level, just sanding it to a smooth finish once done
I thought the same thing.
So that you can seal the engraving. Coloured epoxy likes to bleed into the grain where you dont want it to go and can ruin the crispness of the text. Ideally a rough flattening, then text, seal, pour, then full flattening.
@@jasonasselin8657 Ok that makes sense, in that case could you cut the text deep, seal it, blue epoxy, 1 flattening pass and 1 sanding pass and done? This would bypass the z axis offset and extra sanding on the letters
Matt we are newbie, without a vacuum table to hold the cutting board blank, how do you suggest to hold the board to the T-Track spoiler board? What clamps?
What software do you use with the Stepcraft CNC?
What do you charge for that cutting board? Do you do custom orders as well? I’m not too far from you in Russellville 😀. I would love to be able to make a board like this, but I don’t have any equipment to do it with. You make it look so easy, but I know there’s a lot of planning that goes into each build.
Really beautiful work. Would it be possible to make a text inlay like the one you did, but with brass that you cut out on the router?
Absolutely!
Look here, th-cam.com/video/TMG3mnlUimk/w-d-xo.html
Which toolpath are you actually using for vbit... Because your machine running forward and backward same pass....
what kind of glue are you using to make the cutting board
what design software are you using for the fonts?
What is that white spacer on your spindle?
Hi Good video & really well explaned. I am in the Uk and i want to purchase the 60 v bit Rc - 1145 which uses the insert replaceable blades. I have the 90 degree version and love it. I can purchase the 60 v bit on Amazon uk but unlike the 90 degree version i cannot purchase the blades for the 60 v bit on Amazon uk. Can you tell me where can i purchase the 60 v bit replaceable blades ? Thank you. Gary
good day, yes you can purchase them here, www.toolstoday.com/v-9367-rck-56tt.html
what brand of cnc are you using?
How long did you let the epoxy set before skimming it off?
I let it sit overnight, so about 12 hours
Which cnc are you using, I mean company and model no. Same for router table please.
friend, what is the name of this pneumatic clamp frensa. How do I install it on my cnc? You have video installing
So for the next it would be better to use a 0.1 offset during the last profile passes and then one last single full depth cut to remove the 0.1 offset and all the lines with it for that perfect finish.
Огурец тоже надо было порезать на станке с ЧПУ, а то неодинаково получилось. :D
Can you tell me all the options you have on your m1000. I want to purchase one and I am not sure what options I should get example precision ball screws, stepper motors with semi-closed loop system, vacuum bed, etc. I will be only using the cnc for wood products. Thanks!
Hey Brian, it's all going to depend on what you're wanting to make. Please email ttsupport@toolstoday.com and we will get in touch to chat about what will be best for you.
May I ask how thick that cutting board was? I have the same machine and am thinking about purchasing a couple of the bits you showed but I don't get a lot of height clearance when I have the table in the top configuration. I don't feel I would have room to use that long upcut bit in that configuration.
It was 1.5" thick
What feeds and speeds and pass depth did you use on the profile cut? And was it the mm1000 DI spindle?
Great video. Except when routing a rectangle, you should always start with a end grain side to prevent tear out.
Interesting we can try that too! Thank you
@@ToolsTodayelementary craftsmanship.
Looks like the machines made it
Is something like this also possible with a stepcraft HF 500 spindle? With the same tools?
Hi Nioldo, yes you can make this with the HF 500 spindle.
Walrus oil is the best
Is epoxy food safe ?
Sarebbe interessante sapere come programmi i percorsi utensile sul computer.
I have been looking for a machine just like this one!! What model is it? And what attachments were added?
It's the Stepcraft M.1000 with the ATC and Vacuum table options as well as the vertical clamping jig. Here's the links to them.

Hello
Hello
Matt when is toolstoday going to start some beginner cnc courses?
We try to make videos for all ranges, we have some beginner videos on our website video page here, www.toolstoday.com/t-tool-videos
HI THERE, HAVE YOU TUTORIAL VIDEO ABOUT DESIGN AND SEND LETTERS TO CNC MACHINE PLEASE?
What feeds and speeds and depth of cut are you using
All speed and feed information is available in the description of the video as well as in the plans for this project.
When you cnc handles out... Do you need to write a program for that or you can just do it in the machine operation system?
I am new to cnc... 🙂
I set up a toolpath for it. I suppose you could do it without one, but it's easier and more accurate to just set up a toolpath for it

What router table did you use?
I used the JessEm Ultimate Excel II Router table - www.toolstoday.com/jessem-ultimate-excel-ii-package.html
What is letter font do you use for this ? Thanks
Also interested in the font
Question please... The link to the cnc machine page comes back to 404 and its not showing when searching the website. is it moved and/or no longer available ?
The link is for USA customers only, sorry.

Do people who not live on lakes buy these and wish they lived on a lake?
I can't look past the cracks and inclusions- especially on a surface used for food prep.
Good tips thanks. But plans available for a cutting board 🤣🤣🤣.
the knife used at the end to cut the cucumber doesn't work so fine.
you should sharpen the blade :-D
👍👍🙏🙏
Hello
стоило ли оно такой трудозатраты? да и на вид полный шлак, можно было более простыми методами сделать куда интереснее.
only unresponsible tradesmen can use epoxy on food board.
My only advice for you is to stay out of the kitchen, you are an excellent woodworker, but from the way that cucmber turned out after cutting, you are better off in a wood workshop. Jokes!!!
