    Great video Matt , but then again I learn from all your videos .. Those bits are like cutting butter with a hot knife .

    Just recently started buying from you guys and am super impressed. ToolsToday is the first place I go for stuff for my shop now. My current CNC needs a friend, and I'm considering the Stepcraft 63x108.

    I like the t nuts, but i just drew up a grid with a pencil and drilled them all out by hand. No cnc pockets just sandwich the tnuts between the top and bottom board and screw together then surfaced the wasteboard.

    I made the same set-up for my Shapeoko and it saved so much time on repetitive work. I highly recommend this for any CNC router.

    what causes my bit to make burr on material? most times my bit is sharp enough,or do I plunge too deep?

    A really well done build. Better than what I could've drummed up.
    I have the 600 size version but that's really all I was looking for. After seeing this video I know I have to implement some of these for my board.

    Watching a lot of your CNC videos. Great stuff! What would you suggest to a newcomer who wants to learn the software side a little before buying a machine? What programs are used in woodwork CNC?

    What do you do once you've resurfaced your board a few times? Do you knock all the t-nuts out and redo it all over?

    Help me out here I am new to the woodworking world, what does a waste board do?

    • @ToolsToday
      @ToolsToday  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wasteboard is essentially what you cut into when you cut pieces out. It protects the machine bed. This one has workholding solutions built into it making it super functional!

    • @timberwolf1575
      @timberwolf1575 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you make any cut through the full depth of your work material, the tool has to go just a little bit further through the material to make a clean cut. For mills with flat bottoms, the penetration can be very minimal, for pointed or rounded tips, it has to go further through. Your waste board is there to sacrifice itself instead of having your tools go into the work table. Presumably the work table is flat, smooth, level, etc. and you want to keep it that way.

    Great video, lots of work putting all those nuts in! It want clear from the video, it looks like the screws that hold the fence down are a very loose fit, how do you get it properly square when you refit it?

  • @abdulwoodudlike2know3
    @abdulwoodudlike2know3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good morning, how is your waste board attached to the cnc table itself? Does it already have screw holes on the surface?

    • @ToolsToday
      @ToolsToday  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is screwed to the stock wasteboard and countersunk well below the surface using the 55227 No-Mar countersink.

      Any suggestions? Oh! I enjoy the videos, and I like how you keep any mistakes in the video and just explain what happens. To many times we see videos, but don't know about the booboo's! I think they are important too, if for no more than preventing someone else from making the same mistake. Keep the videos coming.

    You defeat the purpose of flattening the board to the machine axis if you remove and fiddle with it. If you want precision, flatten it and leave it be. You probably screwed up the corner stop as well. There is reason you do these ON the machine.
