Hello, thank you for your video. I had a question… I don’t understand why at the end of the video at 16.45 when testing the ringing signal, we don’t hear the signal when it was plugged to the bulb. You said it was an open loop. Still that’s the purpose of the device to trace where it catches the signal by ringing and after the open circuit the signal is lost and hums. And you find the open spot from going back and forth. Did you mean it was a closed loop from the black to red signal and ringing signal is disappeared when shorted from red sending signal to ground black ? Anyways something I’m missing… sorry if I didn’t understand
You don't hear the signal because the negative terminal was not connected to the bulb. It's just a demonstration to show that that was not a complete circuit from the positive to the negative terminal of the battery. So therefore you get no signal sound. Hope this helps.
So, just ordered one of these as I have been a diesel mechanic for a few decades and pretty sharp on electrical, but got tired of digging through frame rails after back probing with a dmm and narrowing it down. If there is any continuity to ground, then you will not get a tone as your light bulb I assume was going to chassis ground? I am just trying to learn how to use it before it gets here. So, basically if I get a circuit with continuity, but will not hold a load test with a headlamp, then disconnect the other end I assume to lose the ground, this is not going to change pitch as I have continuity on a few strands of wire and the signal can go through those few strands even though its open? I fight a lot of ecm power wires from the batteries to the computer for unswitched power and abs wiring on semi trucks. I see where it would be great for a straight up open in a circuit which is the most common, but I do run into a lot that still will ohm out if this makes sense? I also saw where a short to ground can be troubleshot with this, but other videos said this is only for opens and not true on the short finder. Ty for the video, sure this will help me on open wires and I have no use for the power probe because I have seen so many computers fried because of these things lol.
If you have continuity it will beep as it can detect a signal that is sending through the wire. The pitch changes when you're just getting further away from the initial source, but it beeping will never stop if you have continuity. And yes, you do have to be careful cuz you can fry some components with this thing if you don't know what you're doing! Congrats on your purchase and thanks for stopping by watching the video.
Could you please do a more in-depth video just using the locating an open circuit part of this tool the V2 hundred pro I need to know if I can hook it up with the ABS still connected to the computer just hook it up to the two ends down at the wheel and then start checking the wire. I think I have a break somewhere going back to the computer. Can I leave the computer hooked up? I don’t wanna blow anything up, thank you
To answer your question, can you connect this to the ABS module while it is connected to the computer is yes. The signal that is saying is very low voltage and safe for a computer. I did it on my mass airflow sensor that was connected to my computer in the video. Maybe I'll break it out again sometime soon, but for now I hope this helps.
@@oneanddonediy oh I see. Thanks. I noticed you hooked up the test bulb to the battery ground with a green wire but I thought you could just use the little black alligator clip to ground it and the use the probe tip to energize it. The power probe can both ground and power the test bulb with no additional wires.
@@speakbigtruth9383 yeah you can do that but I was just trying to demonstrate if you was testing at the component level as if the component was in its place we're supposed to be at inside car.

How can something cut on? I understand how something can cut off as the flow of power is cut but how can something “cut on”?
'Cut on' means to power on. It's just colloquialism how I was raised.
