Yes, that is true. That's why you need to contact the company to verify if certain features you're looking for, work with certain calls that you may have.
Great video! I own the D8 + KC501.. 1. Can the D9S pro renew/reprogram ECUs for Mercedes, BMW and Toyotas? 2. Can it reprogram ESL for Mercedes Benz and transmission module using 7G adapter for example? Thnk u for your time
Thanks and glad you liked the video! This straight from the item description on Amazon "ECU Coding + Offline Programming Expertise: XTOOL D9S is capable of Offline Programming for Ford / for Lincoln, and for Mazda vehicles, facilitating ECU software/firmware updates, new module data upload, etc. Furthermore, it offers ECU coding for Benz /for VW/ for Audi / for Skoda, ensuring seamless ECU data matching, coding, and personalized car settings. Please note that this feature isn't universally available for all makes. Kindly check the compatibility before purchase" does this help?

Good overview! How does it compare to your Topdon Phoenix Plus? I have the D8 the D9 seems to have a bigger screen and everything else seems about the same. I love my Topdon Phoenix Plus it's my go-to scanner! I still have the D8 and i give it a little love here and there ð
Thanks, and glad you liked the video! Well, the D9 does have special online ecu programming features for certain makes and models, and also has guided functions for for cars like BWM. The D9 also have WIFI communication from the VCI to the scantool (not the WIFI in your house just to be clear) but if you have a D8 you likely won't need to upgrade to the D9. The Topdon Phoneix Plus is a great scanner. However, the Xtool family has the best key programming capabilities of just about any scantool I have used. You have two great scantools!
@@oneanddonediy Thanks brother! I will agree with you on key programming xtool is one of the best. I also have the XTOOL IP608 and the Vdiagtool VD70 diagnostic scanner lol they all have there place!
No it does not need the internet to operate. The VCI dongle connects the unit with built in WIFi receiver instead of BT so the data transfer will be faster.
I would go with the AD20 Pro amzn.to/3YZzDQ3 since it does do full system scans. However, if you were willing to extend your budget a bit, the very best bang for the buck is the A30M amzn.to/3Xi61vL since it is all systems, fully bi-directional and has free lifetime updates. I don't think that there is any other scantool out here that has free updates for life and it's fully bi-directional for all systems.
It's not connected to a Wi-Fi router. It's a Wi-Fi receiver inside of the scan tool that talks to the VCI. it just makes it faster communicating than with Bluetooth.
I am not sure if these scantools are autoauth approved. As far as the Wi-Fi, it is not connected to the Wi-Fi router. It is a Wi-Fi receiver inside of the scan tool that communicates with the VCI which makes it faster than if it had Bluetooth communications.
It could work for some calls where you can do offline programming. But if it is a GM, for example you would need a pass-through and a laptop to program for PCM swap.
Good day mate. I'm looking to buy a used car in Europe. The problem is that most cars there have fake mileage. I don't know which car yet. If you can tell me which scanner ( which can I buy In Australia ) , can read the right mileage from the largest number of the cars. Thanks.
XTool, aultel, launch or topdon should be able to read the instrument cluster or the mileage from the engine computer. On some cars you can find the idle time or the total engine run time that's for the life of the car sometimes you can use those data points to figure out if the car possibly has more mileage than what the instrument cluster States. I hope this helps.
@@waynetaylor7086 well, one way you could for surely delete it is to connected the unit to your computer via the USB cable and navigate to the folder where the data files are stored and delete whichever files you want deleted. Maybe there's another way but I've never tried.
Xtool is junk period! Don't waste your money if you have a Japanese car. They may work on German cars. I don't have a German car! Customer support is awful the manual is two pages with no useful information just a sales brochure pretending to be a manual! It may look nice but doesn't work on a Subaru. I have to use my Cobb Tuner hooked to a laptop to program my car!
@user-vj2wt7jh7j, By 'Japanese car' are you referring to cars manufactured in Japan and exported to the USA? As you know such USA imports have to meet specs that are not required in many other regions. JDM (Japan domestic market RHD) vehicles are the bulk of imports to my corner and are 'Japanese cars'. Xtool touts the PS701 PRO as the best solution for diagnosis of all Japanese makes. The scanner covers strictly Japanese vehicles. It is reputed to provide live data, bi-directional capability et al (pending what was originally programmed in the car). Going to invest in this unit and test on several makes and models. Will report findings if the OP permits.

Xtool now has fca autoauth available on many of their scan tools now!! Finally!!!
Looks like a good unit!! I can't keep up with all the xtool releases but I will be definitely be getting this maybe. Great video!!! ððŧ ð
Yes they do have a large family of scan tools and this is a great one I have to say.
It may have all those special functions but not all functions work for all cars. You may ony get one that works

@@oneanddonediy awesome.. I still think the Autel im608 offers more features (even tho it's more expensive)..thank u for your quick response!
@@Zoran237 I would hope it would offer more features being 3X the price of the D9! But hope you find what you are looking for! ðŧ
Does this work on all region us, Canada Asia middle east Europe Toyota ?
It should, buy just email the company to be on the safe side. Besides if you order from Amazon, if it doesn't work out you can always send it back.
