      Carter meant so much more for so much longer, to the Vikings. Though pull a series of three years and compare it side by side, Moss probably wins that. Moss is also ranked higher in terms of his contribution to his position overall. But this is best Vikings of all time, not best players who happened to be Vikings at one point.

    The act of naming the "Top 5 Vikings of All Time" is a false choice because it is not possible to make such a list without unfairly, unwittingly excluding outstanding, superb purple and gold talent that is equally deserving of a mention as being among the best Vikings. As a Viking fan since 1975, it is painful to me to see great Vikings subjected to a list that is too short to encompass the waves of talent this franchise has enjoyed. We have a "Ring of Honor" and a "50 Greatest Vikings" list (2010). As Joe Kapp said, there is no one greatest Viking, no single MVP. There are 40 men for 60 minutes.

NFC championship game and you can't hang onto the ball? You millennials are very ignorant of Vikings history I am afraid . Foreman didn't fumble , Foreman could catch , Foreman could pick up the blitz , Foreman could spin move you out of your cleats , Foreman could also straight up and Truck your ass........watch his vids ......a little rougher game with conditions especially in Minny in number 44 's days . No heaters on the side line , no heaters in the soil , . I doubt Peterson would of fared well in Minnesota with Bud Grant ......fumbles alone would of sealed his fate

    Paul Krause had 73 interceptions; the most in NFL history and he wasn't even mentioned! Also AP should be number 1. Tarkenton should be 3rd behind Page. Peterson was (and still might be) the best running back in the NFL; Tarkenton was always behind Stabler, Jolly Roger, and Bradshaw.

      AP shouldn't be number one, he is still playing, and still hasn't been as much a catalyst as tarkenton or page, they're right, tarkenton was probably the best of the era, he set all of these records and created the modern day scrambling QB

    • @linkking46
      @linkking46 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure Tarkenton was the best of his era, but so is A.P. he's been the most dominant runningbck since 2007, has broken most rushing records including most yards in a single game, he's won MVP the same year Manning had a crazy good year with the broncos he defeated Peyton Manning for MVP on what wasn't an off year, I think he's one of the best running backs in the history of the football league and will be the best when his time for retirement comes.

    Fran Tarkenton was probably the most AGILE QB to ever play. He ran like Barry Sanders.
    His flat out speed wasn't that awesome, I'd put him at like a 4.4 - 40 yard dash at best, but his cuts and scrambling were off the charts.
    We make a big deal when one QB is scrambling for like 8 seconds today. Fran Tarkenton's average scramble session was over 8 seconds, and he had multiple scrambles in each game of 15+ Seconds where he actually completed the pass.

  • @Jefff72
    @Jefff72 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Fran Tarkenton should be considered for GOT. He did it before the NFL opened up the passing game and went to 16 games in 1978.

    • @bryanjones4444

      Fran actually is the GOAT. If you use the "REAL GOAT" scoring system which first compares a quarterback to the average quarterback of their era and then takes those percentages better or worse and compares them to all the great quarterbacks Fran comes out on top. Fran is in fact "THE MAN".

      Alan Page was far better than Jared Allen. As a player, and as a man.
      What did Jared Allen average, like 11 sacs in a good season, and he had 16 games..... Alan Page was doing 20+ Sacs in 14 game seasons, there is no comparison. How many Defensive TD's and Forced Fuimbles did Jared account for? Page had several TD's and safety's in the 1971 MVP campaign. He didn't personally score them, but his team mates did as direct result of his stellar play.
      For instance against the Lions, he forced a fumble, recovered it, then ran a bit and lateraled the ball to John Marshall running beside him for the TD. He was doing stuff like that every other week that season.
      As for the Man --- Where is Jared alan now? we don't know...
      What did Alan Page do after football? He became the Supreme Court chief Justice of Minnesota.

      Randle over Page lol. Page had 173 sacks compared to Randle's 136. Page also won LEAGUE MVP and took the team to 3 Super Bowls. He's undoubtedly the best player to ever wear a Viking uniform.

    Go through all the lists, this guy gets hard for offensive linemen an players who played before the 80s overrates them so much

    • @concraft9040
      @concraft9040 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that's ok because people today overrate today's players by far. This guy isn't just naming obscure players, he's showing that he actually knows about each team's history. Any real football fan would know that Page and Tarkenton were great players. Trust me, if every fan today knew what this guy did, I would be very happy, although I will admit when he adds names at the end of some videos it does get repetitive and annoying.

      Come on, are lineman not players too? Should they not be in the hall of fame? Are they worthless to a football team? No, so stfu, O-Line wins games. And having a lineman as a top.5 player in a teams history is a good thing. Hell If the steelers didn't have Mike Webster on their team in the 70's they might not have won all of those Super Bowls

    McDaniel was a 12-time pro bowler and I think five-time All-Pro. That's good having him fifth. 6 to 10?? I say:
    6. Randle - you can't put him 5th over a guy who's made it to that many all pro teams and pro bowls. But JR was NASTY!!!
    7. Moss - self-explanatory. If he stayed with Minnesota he's number 1 on this list.
    8. Eller - one of the pillars of the purple people eater defense.
    9. Krause - all time NFL INT leader. But you know some of that was because the front 4 was dominant and QBs threw up broken helicopters right to him.
    10. Marshall - to be honest, Marshall was more or less a good player who was able to play a long time because the coach really respected him. He only went to the pro bowl twice. But 282 games as a DL is impressive. They should put him in Canton
