    I thank you so very much for your great video, I have been looking for hydraulics installation tutorials as I have my own car project to do, I have a lot of welding and tools skills but nothing on Lowrider customs installs. Sadly a lot of the fabricators don't wanna share their trade secrets but you make a great difference in the world. This video is pretty much a "Step by step tutorial" that comes very useful for my at this time.
    Thanks again and please keep posting Lowrider fabrication videos tutorials.

      @@thecadillacdanshow8658 I will be in touch, I have a lot of questions along the entire process of installing Hydros on cars like drive shaft issues and cutting my Riviera's 63 X-Chassie, I will share my thoughts with you perhaps that will be good material for your next video.
      Love you safety tips too, I knew I have to do something about the gas tank but wasn't quite sure until I saw your video, I was actually planning on emptying the gas tank, how wrong I was.

      That's why I went to the 8 inch pipe

  • @phreaktor
    @phreaktor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    To cut that 6" pipe, I was thinking about making a jig to hold a torch at the right cutting angle (make the holder adjustable) and then making a separate V shaped rest with wheels in the V that the pipe rests on. Then you can fire up the torch and rotate the pipe by hand on the jig while the fixed torch head cuts. If you want to get really fancy you could use wheels that are connected by a mini drive shaft to a speed controlled motor to get consistent cutting speed for the best cut with minimal slag. A bit much for one time use, but if you are a shop, it would be useful. What do you think?

    • @thecadillacdanshow8658
      @thecadillacdanshow8658  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could definitely be done they have a tool just as you described they use on the pipe line there is a name for it but I cant think of it but you could definitely build one

  • @phreaktor
    @phreaktor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can a portable deep cut saw cut 1/4"? Also why did you cut the holes for the cylinders as ovals? Is it because they lean forward as the rear travels up and down? Another idea- Have a donut routed from 3/16"-1/4" urethane and use it as a spring cushion at the top of the spring in the bridge cup. It should work great for noise reduction and you can account for the extra thickness when creating the cups. Just add the thickness of the material to the height of the cups.

    • @thecadillacdanshow8658
      @thecadillacdanshow8658  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah a whole saw will work I use that to cut cylinder holes and body mount holes when wrapping frames also you are correct on the oval hole the cylinder needs to pivot when traveling and I normaly put pvc pipe around the cylinder to keep the noise down

    • @thecadillacdanshow8658
      @thecadillacdanshow8658  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it can be done I would use 75/25 argon gas. Try to stay a way from flux core welding although it would also work it's just a messy weld and lots of clean up

    Why not add the angle to the bottom of the bridge? I have done tubing on the bottom too.

    • @thecadillacdanshow8658
      @thecadillacdanshow8658  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could I just wanted to keep the underside open I put chain mounts on the bottom I have also seen people add tubing on the sides but with me setting the bridge so high on the frame it would have had clearance issues

I'm from TX but grew up in TN...and nobody since the 90s here does this anymore....I'm not sure if I will juice my 03envoy 4wd ,or bag it...but am planning to do a 89 Chevy caprice on hydros... so I'm doing homework now and till.....keep doing what you do.
