    • @youridv

      from the footage you really can't tell the bike has an expensive full system exhaust from a prestigious brand like akra. It sounds like a stock exhaust

    • @ggrandcz
      @ggrandcz ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@youridv With knowledge you can know it. Stock exhaust is only under engine. There is no way you can put slip-on. Akrapovic offers only 1 product for XSR and that is fully EU approved exhaust, means full of cats and low noise, EU5. That is why it sounds like stock. It is not worth of the extra money in my opinion.

    I test rode this bike briefly - admittedly at much lower speeds, since I'm nowhere near as skilled and also the roads around here are garbage.
    I was blown away by the cornering stability, though. Instant confidence boost. I didn't get all the way to the edge of the tire, but the bike just fell in and held a line perfectly for me, on the stock S22 tires. That's the main difference I see here, all the other reviews seem to be on the stock S22s. Maybe the Dunlops don't suit the bike as well? If you ever get the chance, give it another try with the S22!

    For guys commenting on the appearance of poor stability.... as delivered the suspension is a goat rope - the bike is all over the place. However if you dial in some additional rebound damping (a lot more) front and rear, it is a dramatically better bike that you can ride like a nut. One or two more clicks of compression damping in the fork helps too. Unfortunately the shock has too much compression damping and that is not adjustable. However decent roads, it still works fine. If there is a lot of root bumps, water depressions, frost heaves, and broken uneven asphalt it will beat you up a bit.

      Yamaha makes a fine single, as they have for 50 years, but this bike has nothing to do with it. Looks like a cool bike, but doesn't have the interesting dual intake and exhaust setup like the xt's and tenere's to give it that extra tone and refinement. It really is a shame that the XSR doesn't come as an SP variant. Suspension is probably better than on the last gen XSR I had, but that engine deserves a well adjusted setup right from the factory. Difference between stock and the Wilbers upgrade I did on my XSR was night and day, but I don't think I'll buy another bike where I have to change the suspension to get the optimal experience.

    Test rode this yesterday and I agree that the brand new Bridgestones felt pretty soapy so I didn't feel confident enough to get a feel for the handling. The limited steering angle also didn't inspire confidence in the parking lot and for some reason the clutch was set to grab very late. The engine is great but too much for me to use daily since I can't resist the urge to rev it out whenever I can. Gets surprising good fuel economy though. I spent about an hour on the seat and that's about as much as I'd want to. I also found the indicator switch to be a bit difficult to find.

    xsr 900 stock supension settings was too soft, once the static sag and the dynamic sag have been adjusted you have to work a lot on the hydraulic part. Even setting the fork return to one click from fully closed is still too fast for me. After a month of testing, compression and rebound are one click away from fully closed on the forks while on the rear the rebound is a 1/4 turn away from fully closed, now it finally performs very very well in almost all asphalt conditions.
