    You can clearly ear the exhaust valve opening and closing depending on RPMs and throttle demand. Something that must easily be unplugged if needs be :)

    OK, the best test of the sound would be 'live' from on the bike but, to me, it still sounds glorious (and on the overrun). Being quiet on low throttle is an advantage - less annoying for the rider on a long run and less disturbing for bystanders who largely probably don't appreciate loud V4 music. Thanks 👍

    I've never ridden this more touring oriented version of the Tuono, but I am the proud owner of the Factory version. The suspension is amazing and can be set hard for when you find a perfect stretch of asphalt and corners, but also nice and plush for when you ride through villages, or speedbumps.
    The sound is muted with a valve in the muffler, but when you hit 5k rpm, it opens and it sounds like nothing is even slightly muted. I like it because you can ride through the city (somewhat) civilised, but when you reach the open roads you can enjoy the amazing V4 howl which was the main selling point for me.
    Besides that, this bike is way too fast for the normal road and it makes me smile like a maniac with the sheer speed and noise it produces. Even though it's the factory version I have ridden more than 500km a day on multiple occasions, helped by the blessing called cruise control. Besides the touring version being cheaper I don't really see the point of it, because the paintschemes are a bit meh (personal opinion ofc), and most people will buy it as a crazy naked bike. The factory version isn't suitable for the sidecases on the back though which you can fit on the touring version.
    All in all I am still in love with the Factory version and the touring version just isn't for me. But if you want to save €2.5k (in the Nethelands that is, I don't know the price difference in other countries) and basicly still get the same performance, the touring version will still be a blast. And you won't run into anyone else with the same bike very quickly since Aprilia is actually still quite a small brand.

    • @ridingdutchman312
      @ridingdutchman312 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@iamguillaume There are plenty of open roads if you know where to look. Don't look for them near the big cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Utrecht etc. Go to the east, south east or north east of the country and you'll find plenty of fun small roads, open sweeping roads etc. But even for big opens roads you could say the Tuono V4 is too much, as the speed is absolutely insane for any public road.

    • @cocker1177
      @cocker1177 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the valve is really restrictive at low revs, then suddenly it barks into life. I noticed a big difference from the new model to my '16 Tuono. With my '16 you can barely notice the valve working, and it's way louder as well.
      Aside from this, the TFT dash, and the automatic ohlins on the factory, there's no real difference in riding the '16 model to the '22 model.

    Vllt hat es mit den Fahrmodi zu tun? Bei der "alten" Tuono ist der Sportmodus extrem nervös in der Gasannahme. Durch die Kraft ruckt es dann bei jeder Bodenwelle durchs Motorrad, weil sich die Gasgriffstellung durch die Bodenwelle minimal geändert hat. Da muss man im Track oder Racemodus fahren, damit alles schön smooth ist.

    I tried the E5 Tuono V4 Factory and it was lovely in the corners thanks to the semiactive Öhlins suspension. But the throttle response was really unbearable, especially in low revs. It feels choppy, it feels like it has an inherent delay, and it doesn’t seem to have a neutral spot. It jerks between on and off quite quickly if you don‘t finesse it enough. I didn’t consider trying a Ducati before, but now I have and it is the much better bike for sure.

    For your information I tried both version and didn't like that much the Touring version.
    The suspension, the riding position, the throttle, the châssis, the tires... For me it was night and day with the Factory and the 3k€ were justified.
    The Factory feels connected to the road, the user Map once set-up really transform the bike.

    I wonder what suspension settings you had it in.
    In street settings it is easier to manage at lower speeds and much softer riding, in track settings it is significantly more stable at higher speeds and while cornering, but also heavier feeling at lower speeds.
    I'm guessing the wobbles you are getting are due to not getting yourself more over the front end as not to ruin the camera angle since I've never experienced that on mine, although it can power wheelie even when I'm over the front.
    The throttle/power seems to be more enjoyable in the most aggressive setting with the nannies and engine braking at lowest settings as long as you aren't in too low of revs (then it can take a moment to gather its might), although having a maintenance throttle can be tough sometimes. I still haven't uploaded the Gabro tune (valve is always open outside of neutral with that tune in addition to improved throttle response and power delivery) because Vegas dealer didn't update the ECU like I told them to, patiently waiting at home in Utah for my MIA unit to get to Idaho dealer so I can take care of both things at once.

    • @Schaaf
      @Schaaf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't mind the wobbles when accelerating at all. I didn't feel confident in lean, that was my issue. Thanks!

    The difference is the racemap that most likely was in the factory wersion you drove a couple off years ago. I had this version but I missed the öhlins suspension so I switched back to the previous gen Factory. Did not feel any nervous symtom other than the back end tended to get out off shape in high speed and in rough conditions. Rock stable straight ahead. I miss that stability in my ZH2. First bike that I have not dared to top out due to the unstable front end.

    • @DukeOfTwist
      @DukeOfTwist 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had my base model up to 266 Kph still solid & sound, Factory couldn't hit those speed due to gearing & wind protection.

      Haha I know what ya mean. The Z H2's front is scary indeed

  • @billstanden
    @billstanden 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The throttle's not quite right on both models until you flash them but the Factory seems a little better for some reason. I'd love to know if the race ECU (which still seems to be an option) fixes it.

    • @salvadorvega9834
      @salvadorvega9834 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it was a bitch riding my 17 factory before i got an exhaust and flash. The less restrictive exhaust and tuned throttle input from gabro’s maps made all the difference, felt like a different machine. Don’t be fooled though, it’ll still snatch your ass in 3rd and 4th if you’re a little heavy coming back on the throttle.
