  • Purchased on eBay for about $20 plus shipping "parts only". 1 bridge rectifier, 1 extra light bulb for the rear light, and some general repairs and it's up and running!

    Nice addition to your growing collection. Switchers can be a whole lot of fun - especially with operating couplers and a siding or two! It's a clean looking unit that looks as if it hasn't been run very much. I think you did well for $20 plus shipping. Nice upgrades by adding the bridge rectifier and extra light bulb. Thanks for sharing another project with us!

      Thanks Brad, I spotted where a newer version has coupler arms that are centered (vs flopping around). I might have to look into some of those.

    Nice score on that little switcher. If Lionel had installed a rectifier back in the day, it probably would have sold better. Here it is 40+ years later, and it’s running well. Great job Jeremy! Tom

    Lindsay made an H.O. model of this Witcomb switcher in the late 1940 s. I have 2 of them and they still run well.
