  • Like anything, the more you do it the better you get at it. This is only the 3rd or 4th e-unit I've had apart.

Excellent video Jeremy. I've always been too intimidated by the E-unit to attempt to work on one. Your explanation and demonstration on how to rebuild one has motivated me to take on the challenge the next time I come across an old engine that has an E-unit in need of repair. Thanks for taking the time to put this together!

Lol, parts go flying. I can relate. Great video Jeremy.

For sure, of course when I had the camera rolling on this one - the parts refused to go flying

I'll never forget the first one I tore into..... it was a mess to say the least lol. But I'll always say you'll never learn if you don't try!!

For sure 💯! I get asked frequently - how do you learn how to fix these? My answer is by just doing it and learning from my mistakes.

And mistakes can be made! The best advice I can give to someone who is trying to learn is to not force anything. If you’re having trouble taking something apart, stop and look, you might be missing something….. my early days working on junk (not just trains) was hard learned to use some common sense lol.
