Porter Robinson has some very deep moving music, but interestingly his AMVs (anime music videos) actually tell the story of his music much more. He has some very simple lyrics, but these words are so moving with the overall song composition, and the mix is incredible. I would definitely check out his first AMV, "Shelter".

Shelter is a must watch. Another Anime MV, however for that one Porter Robinson actually worked with the animation studio to help guide the vision of the video. A great video for reaction value as well because there is a lot of interpretation possible with that one in particular.
The fact that it was supposed to be a chill song and ended up with Rakan dead is kinda shocking. They're killing people left and right in the lore of the skin line.

I wanted to have rakan stay dead but unfortunately rakan is alive as was shown in the comics released right after this song released.
Rakan isn't dead, if you read the comics you will know that Rakan isn't dead, he's just being totally corrupted and hidden somewhere else.

Man.. after reading the 14 chapters of lore that they published this cinematic became 100x better and heartbreaking.

As far as I know, neither Rakan nor Zoe die in that story, they merely disappear. There was another battle where Lux sacrificed herself and became a statue, according to Akali's voice lines

One of the really nice touches in the music video is Seraphine crying with Xayah because Sera is a true empath and can magically feel what Xayah is feeling so her hugging and comforting her in her loss is a really cute touch to a overall really sad story.
If only she could actually feel bad for killing Skarner’s race now

“No, no, no-” Xayah begged.
“The prince has to save the princess. Those are the rules.”
When Xayah told her friends that death wasnt the worst part it was watching Rakan die... then she had to watch him die again T_T
I like the rest of that conservation even more. Xayah saying she will break those rules and rakan saying that is what he loves about her

And honestly, this is one of the skin lines fans liked to have an animated series like Arcane.
Star Guardians, Odyssey and Project skins have well written lores.
I’m also pretty interested in Blood moon with the new skins coming out which are in the same universe but I forget the name. It’s Kayn’s new skin that interests me most.
Star Guardians lore is on another level. Much more in-depth and developed than any other alternate universe. I think I might even prefer it over the main universe simply because all the characters can interact with each other in a believable fashion. And they can actually develop the story much quicker. Star Guardian anime would be fantastic.

The crazy thing is that Porter isn't really a singer! I've followed his career and seen him evolve over the past decade. This song is the most hes sung in any track using his pure voice like this. Like we're all realizing he has such a wonderful warm tone to his voice
the entire album of Nurture was Porter singing. Something Comforting, Musician, Look at the Sky, Blossom, and the rest of the album
@@KiyotaiTalksyes, that’s their point. Nurture was really where he first sang. Even 2014’s Worlds didn’t have much Porter singing & like he mentioned, those of us who have followed him for a decade or 12 years, it’s impactful & much more special for us.
I'm sure someone has already mentioned it, but you two should totally check out Shelter by Porter Robinson and Madeon along with the music video! His Nurture and Worlds albums are also top tier!

I nearly cried when I saw Seraphine hugging and comforting Xayah over her loss; everybody assumed that Rakan died trying to save the Star Guardians. This video is so beautiful.

if anyone wondering why lux is there, according to the lore, all the previous star guardian including ahri's team left the earth to search for rakan and zoe. Lux is there to pass her leadership to Kaisa. All the new starguardian including Xayah will be stay on earth to protect it from the new enemy arrived which is fiddle and morgana. I think they make Xayah stay on earth because she might do something so risky just to save Rakan. And the curroption inside xayah is not fully healed. When emotion takes over, the curroption get stronger and maybe they thought that Zoe might abuse that remaining curse to Xayah.

I dunno anything about morg. The rumors of 2 other Zoe's team was janna and syndra thats why syndra got a prestige skin. And lastly is gwen but will be on league of runeterra only

Yeah the song was produced by Porter Robinson, an amazing artist. His first AMV for one of his biggest songs is in the same vein as this and is absolutely worth checking out even though it’s not league-related. SHELTER by Porter Robinson and Madeon. edit. Also his most recent album, Nurture, is quite similar to this style and is amazing overall. absolutely worth a listen

as somone who's been a porter fan for a decade plus, I'd love to hear your guy's thoughts on his other music! Shelter is a great starting point, and his other work is also great. Shelter, Nurture, Second/Secret Sky livesets, Worlds, Worlds/Live, Spitfire, his old house stuff, etc. Maybe even his early early stuff as Ekowraith! Great vid :)

for me it was the tears in seraphine's eyes with xayah. Riot used her 'power' there (she read xayah's thoughts/feelings) wich made it more emotionnal to me tbh

I love the idea of the parallel universe that's portrayed in these songs. I don't quite understand the school vs idol-magical girl idea, but there's clearly a theme of light and corruption. Rakan being lost, or somehow dissapearing; then Xayah greatly feeling this loss. The setup with Akali being affiliated to this evil Rakan, whilst this second group lead by Kai'sa seems to be out there finding Rakan. I get the impression that the original group teased in the #2 trailer was perhaps the original group that disbanded(?) - hence why Akali is seen with Rakan and not with her group comforting Xayah on the rooftop. Then you see understand why Seraphine is seen being rejected by Senna... Clearly Seraphine wants the original group to restart, but group #1 is broken and hurt. Meanwhile Kai'sa feels the weight of inferiority, but finds her moment, creates a team and pushes on. The parallel there between a broken hearted Xayah and a greenhorned Kai'sa is awesome - both finding their feet again.
Rakan didn't somehow dissapeared he sacrificed himself AGAIN. The best story from riot so far i was in tears reading through the last chapter 😭
Well the star gaurdians are heavily inspired from sailor moon. Who where all teenage girls in highschool, it's something they obviously wanted to go simular with as it works so well.
Your comment is confusing it reads as you saying the pink haired girl is Seraphine when it's not. The pink haired girl is Kai'sa, the Blonde with Xayah is Seraphine.

@@detectivemittons9020 Akali has blue hair and we're learning about akalis circumstances during the current star guardian event so I can't say for sure the whole story but from what I currently understand Kai'sa and Akali are childhood friends but had a falling out after becoming star guardians which leads to Akali leaving and Kai'sa is now looking for her. As far as I'm aware Rakan and Akali have no current connection except that they are both missing. With Kai'sa looking for Akali and Xayah looking for Rakan.
On a SG binge tonight, so rewatching this on a different account, and ya’ll’s love for League animations is always a delight to see. I actually look forward to new cinematics partially because ya’ll will watch them.

Hey guys! Found your channel thanks to this video yesterday and I've already watched all your League reactions, they're amazing! 😍
Aside from everyone else's comments and recs (really backing up the suggestion to listen to more Porter Robinson and visiting the SG page in League's website), I wanna say the funny looking harlequin-like creature dancing in thoae sugary clips is Fiddlesticks (remember Terror in Demacia? That thing), who's one of the main antagonists of the event. It's got an amazing lore in the universe (which has caught everyone off guard and got the whole fandom theory crafting on Twitter) and the dancing videos are clips from the Star Guardian: Taliyah sessions from Riot Games music team. I really recommend checking them out and vibing with the sweet animations (plot is basically Taliyah visiting the Valorant City mall to chill a bit after school and basically being stalked by Fiddlesticks, that's trying to fill her day with "nicemares") ☺️

The thing I like the most about the song is that piano melody guys! And when it plays along with the voice ahh chills. In the full version (3 mins long) the drop and the intro melody are a bit longer so I prefer that version ofc. But the music video is something else... Riot we are all waiting for the anime anouncement... This song could be the outro

Loved the reaction, as always! You can see in my profile picture that I absolutely LOVE the star guardians, since the first skin they released. You guys should definitely see the lore behind the skinline... all the stories they released so far have been beautiful and really well written. If you don't want to read it all I recommend watching Necrit's latest videos about them, he sums it all up really well and I think this music video gets waaay better if you know the lore. I can't watch it without crying >.

There are so many champions that received a Star guardian skin including Ekko which is sick and my favorite is also Akali she's just so beautiful with her designs also note that in the star guardian cinematic light and shadow the composer for the song also composed Attack on Titan songs so how ironic

I didn't even look below but "Plus One" to what I can only imagine is a bunch of comments asking you two to check out "Shelter" by Porter Robinson if you haven't already seen it. It's a little older but it's incredible and is worth a rewatch after the first viewing, so I think it'd lend to a pretty great vid on here in the same 'watch once, talk, and rewatch' style you did here.
I started playing League in 2013. I was a wreck. No idea what I was doing. No real connection to the, then practically nonexistent, lore. No idea who I wanted to main.
Then....Get Jinxed came out. That first MV ser me on a long, dark path. Skip ahead to the beginning of the Star Guardian skin line. I didn't watch anime yet, so "magical girls" should have had about no appeal for me. However, seeing my homicidal maniac rebel being a Hero of the Universe in another life hooked me.
Ever since, the SG media released by Rito has always hit me hard. I am with it till the end. This MV does a beautiful job of telling an update, while serenading one's spirit.
I have yet to read the new lore. I just haven't been composed enough to follow along with the new chapter of sorrow and courage, yet.

Man the montage of Rakan and Xayah, actually left me in tears
if you like SG lore, you can check out Madoka Magica. It's a very short magical girl and psychology horror anime (12 ep and a Movie). SG draws a lot of inspiration from it, and it's a veeeery good anime in general, full with twists and deep character and world development, also a masterpiece of a soundtrack. (great for reactions. *wink wink*)
they released 14 chapter of lore before the music video, that explains what happened between the last cinematic and this one, I won´t tell what happens because you might want to read it, but if you don´t find the time for it then I can try to make a short summary for you guys ^-^

Porter Robinson is a prodigy, started making music since he was like 16 ish. I'm pretty sure this whole song was produced by him (even the vocals). Check out his other work, truly masterpieces

rakan gave himself up to save xayah,
Akali and kaisa are bff's in this part of the story but becoming star guardians drives a rift between them, with what it means to be one and trying to stay friends.
Xayah is struggling to deal with losing rakan and ends up recruiting a new team, Seraphine, Senna, Orianna, and Nilah, (I think that's it for that team? Someone can correct me there)
Lux goes and recruits a new team as well consisting of kaisa the leader akali ekko sona and taliyah,
The two new teams were recruited in response to an invasion of the planet they're on by Zoe lil purple girl with the evil laugh from the light and shadow cinematic, they fought her off but at the cost of rakan and a lot of injuries.

Porter's a legendary artist in the EDM community. I think a reaction video to his and Madeon's song "Shelter" would be pretty popular. It's also got an anime style music video.
Did you guys see Madoka Magika? It's awesome mahou shoujo anime that is pretty near with all this LoL star guardians vibes we see in the game right now and have some parralels with Zoe and other viliants art style.

Also, when you see Porter Robinson's name attached to something these days, it's likely going to be an emotional journey. Riot also put out a "Making of" video, with Porter talking about the process of reaching out to work with Riot. He's actually a fan of the game and a player (he's done streams). His approach to music is incredibly honest and sincere, so if you want to know a bit about the man behind the music, I'd also recommend that.. But react to Shelter before anything. Porter Robin & Madeon - "Shelter", it's his biggest song, and honestly, it's legendary, one of the greatest of all time imho.
18:19 Porter Robinson wrote the song and with him and the amazing team at Riot they made one killer Vid and Song for the Star Guardians 2022 there is a making of vid that you have the watch

Just so you know, another star guardian cinematic have been released a few days ago.
So it was not shown in any cinematic but it was said that Lux and Rakkan died in the last battle with Zoey, so in 9:50 you can see Lux's figure in the mirror as a memory of her or something and also the reason why Xayah was chasing the last thing she have left of Rakkan
