Has a 49er fan I didn't want to watch this but I had to because you have to ride with your team no matter what that means why with the team when things go good and when things go bad but damn this was a heartbreak video to watch but I still think the 49ers still have a shot in the next season that's coming up just as good as any other team and if somehow we can able to pull it off then all the heartbreak this past decade would be worth it and if we don't then we keep on fighting until we do and we never quit.

I like how the 49ers finally have this narrative of falling short I thought that after last season when I realized they made it to at least the conference championship 3 times in the last four years and three straight seasons 10 years prior
At 8:00 I think it's important to point out that the refs actively decided to reset the play clock around 13:32, it wasn't just a mistake by the refs to give Seattle 18 extra seconds. And also on the fumble play on the goal line SF got the ball back on the next play after Seattle failed to convert on 4th down, meaning that it didn't impact the outcome of the game outside of the injury.
You miss the point then. The refs are to call the game fairly, and at that goal line play, they didn't. Had the refs did their real jobs, the 49ers wouldn't had needed any of that "well it worked itself out" kind of "luck". Thanks for playing

Bowman couldn't hold onto the ball in the pile (because his leg was being torn apart) and when the players were being unpiled Marshawn Lynch had the ball. And due to a weird rule (that was changed the following season) the play was non reviewable, meaning the refs couldn't overturn the ruling on the field which was Seattle's ball. And my overall point is that if your going to make a video on the 49ers playoff losses, then you shouldn't leave out important context as to why they lost. Showing some ref calls and the the interception at the end isn't painting an accurate picture of how the game went down. In reality Kap had 3 second half turnovers which was what cost them the game, and only 1 is included in the video while an officiating call that didn't impact the outcome is left in.
@@alanlabriola3810 the thing is on that play the refs were doing their job. A pile up fumble recovery is a lot different than an open field fumble recovery. They changed the rule allowing review for that the following season, but the refs can't tell who initially gets a fumble recovery before the pile starts up. I was a high school ref. Literally what happens is when there's a pile up the umpire and head ref run in and start pulling players off of the pile. When they reach the bottom of the pile whoever has the ball that is whose team is awarded possession. Literally until the refs get to the bottom of the pile, you can grab, punch, scratch and claw for the ball to try to obtain it before the ref gets down there. I remember playing in middle school, and our coach told us in the event of a pile up that if our player has the ball to surround him and leave no room for opposition to get in. That's also the reason coaches don't want QBs in pile ups because of the chaos that is happening.

U kno i felt bad for san fran up until the 2022 NFFCG vs my eagles when they bitched and complained about only having 10 guys to play with when we unintentionally knocked Purdy out the game. Then they whinned and bitched about that loss to us; exact their revenge last season, and they take an L up the ass in ANOTHER super bowl. It was bitter sweet to see em lose to kc but at the same time i wanted kc to lose for cheating us out of a super bowl win with the refs help. Anyways i hope san fran never wins a 6th super bowl!
That Josh Johnson fumble never should’ve counted anyways because the false start penalties would’ve blown the play dead before it ever began.

@@Somdeb10 They didn't blow the whistle BEFORE the play happened, they blew it right after, but that's irrelevant. The referee ruled forward progress not that he was down. Forward progress is not reviewable as that is a judgement call by the referee. Now the reason why when he blew his whistle is irrelevant. NHL is the only league to have it written in code in their rule book, but every sport has a general unwritten rule for referees. Because there is a human element to be referees and they are not robots, there's this thing called "intent to blow the whistle". Basically a ref can't always blows their whistle the second they want to for various reasons. So if a ref had an intent to blow their whistle before actually blowing, they can say the play was supposed to be dead from the moment they meant to blow the whistle. Obviously they're still going to blow it to stop the game. You see it all the time, Generally there's at most like a 3 second delay from when they meant to blow it vs when they actually do. And in that case he blew the whistle what seemed like .5 to a full second late. But he was still within the respectable time frame for the "intent to blow the whistle" to be correct.

Opting to get the ball first in last year's OT is a breakdown of the complete system. Coaches, players, everyone involved with the organization did not work to understand the new rules and how it would impact them in that situation. No argument could convince me that getting the ball first is a smart choice. You literally have 0% chance to win the game with the first possession and a valid chance to lose with a turn over turned into points.
My brother in law is a die hard 49er fan. I still look fondly on the wall that had a hole in it from the black out Super Bowl.
