As a Packer fan, I knew the Packers were going to lose after missing that field goal in the 4th quarter. The momentum shifted big time with that miss.
I was expecting ya'll to BS your way into throwing to a wide open receiver for a TD, that offense is gonna terrorize the NFC North for at least a decade
I knew the Packers were going to lose the moment the officials made it clear that that was the outcome they desired. They made their bias known early and often.

I think it also has something to do with running the clock down to under 40 seconds so that they can kneel it without any potential complications, the Packers still had 2 timeouts which they could've used to prevent the clock from running out

Greenlaw was the main reason SF won this game. The rest of the defense ( Bosa and Chase Young esp.) better step up in the next game especially if they play that Detroit offense that can put points on the board in a hurry.
As a 49ers fan the MVP of this game is Dre Greenlaw he was the only player on our defense making plays and stepped it up huge when it mattered most. As a 49ers fan respect to Green Bay ya’ll played great and y’all got a bright future ahead.

I agree but, Warner & Bosa did their thing out there. They were key on all those stops, especially in the redzone. Ambry & Gipson did everything to throw this game away, but respect to Lenoir in coverage.

Was saying that all nite here in Green Bay. 4th Quarter Brock was the difference in winning that game. That run was high IQ for that moment and he didnt make any mistakes when it mattered. Love on the other hand threw his 5th game losing, final drive very inaccurate INT of the season to close it out.
@@alternativegrunge91 At first I actually thought that GB let CMC get the touchdown, like they did in the Super Bowl a while back so that they'd have time to move the ball themselves into scoring position. Then on the replay I just saw a great blocking scheme.
Brock wasn't having a great game at all but at the end of the day when the time came where he needed to show up he did. Good run by him at the end zone and game winning drive
They need to train Brock to be more decisive and not be afraid to do that if the pass isn't there....he's so much beter a scrambler than Jimmy G was with his block feet. I agree that run was key to setting up the TD.

he would've had a game winning drive against Cleveland but Moody muffed the (not very long) field goal (conditions weren't great, but he had missed another previously in the game).
Against the Vikings he threw a pick, but he'd taken some big hits and probably wasn't 100%.
Usually when Purdy plays well, the Niners blow out their opponent and a game winning drive is not needed.

Was at the game with my brother. I’m a Niners fan and he’s a bears fan (we are originally from the Chicago area). It was a frustrating game and miserable condition to be in (pouring rain). But the ending was so sweet for both of us. Actually maybe more for my brother. Go Niners!

Why do people always blame the refs when their team lose? I think the two interceptions, missed field goal are more the reason. There were more penalties on the Niners than Packers. If you are talking about missed calls, that happens to every team. On the big screen, it showed so many not called obvious holdings and hand to the face. There are definitely more games where the call was everything but not this game. Ultimately the game was lost due to the interception in the end of the game due to a bad throw across the field when he should have just throw it away.
The 49ers/Packers rivalry is so underrated. And with two young QBs, I doubt it'll mellow out soon.

Vintage 49ers Team Win..Brock Purdy was poised on their final possession and made some really clutch plays.
49ers are now 1-30 with tonight being the 1 time they've comeback from a 5 point or better deficit in the 4th quarter under Kyle Shanahan.
The 49ers defense held the Packers scoreless the final 20+ minutes of the game.

I mean, considering that the first snap of the fourth quarter was a field goal that made it 4 points, that stat is a little silly and arbitrary. Still was nice to see them get it together when they needed it most.
It was my first ever home San Fran home game. Moved to Panthers country when I was 4, so never got the chance. Finally did for this game and went through the 5 stages of depression in the last 2 quarters. Just got back to hotel and laying in bed BEAT
A couple of my good buddies went and it was their first home game too! Looked like so much fun, what a game

GB's first mistake was not taking the FG in the first qtr, keeping SF within 1 score throughout the game. Always take the points early in the game. This game could have gone to overtime, with that FG.
49ers also made the mistake (Shanahan) of not having a good clock management before the first half ended

Lafleur did not trust Carlson to make the kick. Thought better chance to get the yard for first. I thought they were going to grab Crosby 2 weeks ago when Giants dropped out for the season. I had a feeling Carlson would cost us a game in the playoffs. He did. As well Carlson' consistency made Lafluer make tough choices. With Crosby La fleur would have had little doubt in a field goal situation.
This what the playoffs are all about both teams going all out back and forth the best playoffs game so far this year.

Big Brock fan. He played poorly all game. But WHEN IT MATTERED, he put together the season-saving drive. And when it mattered, Love threw a pick that you just cannot ever throw. That was the big decider. Fun game.
No, he didn't. 4 dropped passes, remember? That's not on Brock. Conditions were not optimal, nowhere near it. Lots of slipping on the 9er D and it led to a GB TD. Imo, Brock did a great job, and came through when it mattered most.

@@WebShaman01 The drops are absolutely not on Brock. However the numerous inaccurate passes and 2 should-been-ints are. Those are mistakes we simply don't see Purdy make most of the time. The rain was certainly a factor, and at this point I think it's safe to say Purdy does not like the rain (this game, the Browns game, the first half against Seattle in last year's playoffs).
I think the initial comment summed it up well: "He played poorly all game. But WHEN IT MATTERED, he put together the season-saving drive." There was both good and bad today, but in the end the Niners survived, and I think they'll look a lot better next week.
Except, it wasn't really poorly - 4 dropped passes not on him. He did not play exceptional, and I think that is telling. He certainly does have issues in rain. But this time, he adapted and pulled the game out, exactly what an excellent QB has to do. I watched the 1998 Catch II game the night before the game. These 49ervsPackers post season games are way too close. CLASSICAL.

Love and Purdy are both great. But when it came to their final drives, Purdy showed focus and good decision-making while Love showed the opposite, and that was the deciding factor here.

Look up all the other coaches records since 2019 under the same criteria and you will see a glaring pattern. Everyone has a massive losing record when trailing by 5+ in the 4th quarter. It's almost as if it's really hard to comeback in the NFL.

Technically yes, but also not really. He essentially had two already (vs. the Raiders in week 17 last year and vs. the Browns in week 6 this year). In both cases, he drove the team down the field into position for very makeable game-winning FGs, but Gould and Moody each missed their respective kicks.

I’m tired of this as a niner fan😭. Having hope every year, I watched this team lose 4 NFC championships & 2 super bowls. Over the last 5 years they’ve made the nfc championship 4 times and still haven’t managed to pull through. I need it to happen this year 😭

I've got something - Purdy haters, like Colin Coward, Nick Wrong, and Kayshwan Whom stated that Purdy was the worst player on the field during the first half because he ALMOST threw two interceptions ALMOST!! Let's be serious - every single QB in the history of the game ALMOST threw several interceptions on any given Sunday since 1900! It is part of the game, defense players are all around trying to get the ball, to pick 6 because is money, they get bonuses they get new contracts. From Joe Montana to Tom Brady, Mahones, and Lamar in between, every single QB, good or bad player, ALMOST threw interceptions during their games.
Career defining drive by Purdy at the end. Playoff games will always be grimy and you gotta win in the 4th quarter. Big time!

Great ending but as we've seen the past several years, GB's special teams continues to haunt them in the biggest moments. Granted, Love made some poor throws tonight, but the blame doesn't go all on him. 2 dropped INT's and a missed FG costed them this game. Promising future ahead for GB though!

@@ronniepockets they wouldnt have need to do the qb sneak if the ball placement was thought about at all. The refs sucked at it, almost every single play i would have argued with the placement so many were first downs for both teams that were just ignored

This is the kind of game like the one with "The Catch" against the Cowboys. It was really a poorly played game, but still, we won. We'll always remember it.

I admit this game was the best niners come back in the playoffs this season and probably this era. I was stressed out most of the game and I admit I changed the channel a few times lolol. Then by the 4th quarter the niners were down then came back with that last td drive to cmc. The rain did make it harder as well. Brock made some mistakes tonight but he overcame it and helped the niners win. It was and ugly game, but a win is a win regardless. I hope deebo recovers by next sunday. Go niners!

To be able to beat this REALLY GOOD Green Bay team without D Samuel's and with all the ups and downs Niners kept their composure and Purdy answered all you doubters questions about his quarterback skills.
After that 53 yard run by Jones, I could've swore the Packers were going to score a td, win the game, and I was okay with my niners losing. What a game! GB has a great young team.

Was 90% sure we were cooked. INEXCUSABLE to allow the run back. Should have been kicked into end zone in the first place though. Many many mistakes this game. It's just that GB made the last one.
