Very important to mention that with the Amex Platinum, you can add up to 3 authorized users for the same $175. Not $175 per person

You can also add a Gold AU to the platinum for free (it's not a 4x food gold card, but it accomplishes the AU for transferring points to their loyalty account without applying for a new card)

Question: Is a Secured line of credit the same as a non secured line of credit... Example: If I have a secured line of credit for $3000 and amex card requires a line of credit of $3000, would amex except the secured line of credit?
Hey Ben. My family of 4 figured out a program. I can get the AMEX Platinum without a hard pull on my credit. Then get 3 AU's for $175. Then we divide the ($695 plus $175) by 4 and we all get that Platinum card for $217.50/year. That is unbeatable for that card and the benefits (lounges, TSA/Global entry, hotel status, etc).
How does this workout? Don’t you get charged per authorized user? I have my platinum plus 1 authorized user who gets their own card.
$175 for the first three, so if you only add one it is $175, or you can get 3 for that price too. This will go in the next video

@@TheCreditShifu does this apply to the business plat.? Does this me that each user gets their own set of the same Benefits as the main card holder? For example; global entry fee, airline credit, etc. Or even signup bonus?
So you pay 695+175 but you only get one tsa/precheck fee per 4 years? I get the other benefits but that one does not apply to every AU
this is a great time to apply for the green card if the gold isn't your cup of tea, i just got it and the resy offer will be great for the first year!

Just to clarify. I recently got an Amex Business Gold and my wife got an Amex Gold. We are not authorized users on one another's cards. But just by virtue of each being an Amex card user, we can automatically pool our points? Do we need to call Amex to set up a point pooling? Or do we need to get a third card with no annual fee, where one spouse is a user and one an authorized user??? It's unfortunate because I just closed a free Amex account, not realizing this. Not sure if they would allow me to reactivate it. Probably not.
The other thing about MaxRewards is that it simultaneously activates the same offer on multiple cards, which is normally not allowed.

Should be good as long as you have the platinum account open
Can you transfer points to the same loyalty program account? Both of you can transfer points to the same world of hyatt account (in this case). That could be one way to pool your points together.

My family and I (4 total) will be traveling through Miami (MIA) and have a 4-5 hour to kill and flying American. So I am trying to find the best card and lounge to use while there. Thank you for the help.
Centurion lounge and Admirals club lounges in MIA are both pretty nice. They’re also relatively close to eachother! If you get Priority pass, Turkish airways lounge wasn’t bad at all either! They had a nice buffet :). Hope this helps.

I have the EDP for the 50% bonus points but 30 transactions a month was a lot harder to do than I thought so I bailed on that card (aka downgraded)
There is a thread at myfico about people not being able to do CLI's until 90 days, where previously it was 61 days, interesting twist.
For the EDP (EveryDay Preferred), I think the additional .5% doesn’t add up unless you value the Uber credit of the gold at 50% of face value or less. And since the EDP doesn’t have any credits, I would say it’s safe to assume that the effective annual fee is also $95. For simplicity’s sake, let’s just assume that one MR point is one cent per point. If you value the credits for the Gold at full face value, since the EDP earns 3%/4.5% for 6k of groceries a year, you would earn 6000*0.045-95=$175 worth of points for the EDP. With the gold, with a $10 EAF, you earn 6000*0.045-10=$260 worth of points. Where the EDP could earn you a little more points would be if you value the Gold Uber credits at 50% face value or less. Then for the EDP, it’s the same $175 worth of points, and for the gold it would be 6000*0.045-70=$170 worth of points. So basically you should only really be using only the EDP for groceries if you spend $6000 or less on groceries per year, and if you value the Gold Uber credits at 50% or less of face value. But at exactly 50% face value, you are only earning 500 more MR points, which isn’t a ton. In comparison, for the gold, the 4% on groceries is up to 25k.
Ways to satuts match to hotel in vegas to cancel out resort fees with amex
Just get a wyndham biz which gives wyndham diamond you can match straight to Caesars diamond, free parking, "skip the line" line, and 100$ "celebration dinner". Unless you have plat, then lots of good fhr/thc choices in vegas
If you already an A.E. member, dont apply through resy unless you want a hard pull on file.
After 60 days requesting Credit increase isn't true. I requested and they told me I had to wait 6 months.

I’ve had the BCP for 3 months, so I called for the limit increase. You’re able to ask for an increase after 180 days… not 60!
You can ask for an increase any time you want, but will only be allowed after 60 days of account opening. This is why you see upwards of 3x credit increases. 180 days is just preferred by most issuers.
@@raeman365 not accurate. I posted as soon as I got off the phone. You may have had a different experience in the past, but of 2/22/22 Amex policy is 180 days
@@seanswart962 I think these guidelines might be different between request type. You called in to ask. The process he's referring to is through a special online feature.
I too was denied after 60+ days. Tried again a couple weeks after too, and now I don’t even have the button on the online account to request it! SMH.

Amex has been giving me popups for the Everyday since I got my Gold card lol. They must have known that I plan to cancel my gold as soon as I finish first year
Did you already have other cards with them? Any spend after the sub? Buying vgcs? Any other "irregular activities"? (Not team rat, just curious since the popup seems pretty random)
@@jrome1135 yes I have 2 others (0af Hilton and blue cash everyday) and both have a little spending on them after hitting minimum spend. Could still be the main reason since they might consider me not spending enough. Never bought any gc using Amex card.

3x credit limit with Amex does not work if your starting CL is $20k or more.... It's more like 0.5x

Amex will typically ask for tax forms for the last 3 years if they are unsure about extending credit past 25K. Lucky you, man!

Instead of adding an authorized user (player 2) to transfer to their loyalty program accounts, using the everyday card, use the Blue Business Plus so you don’t mess with player 2’s 5/24 status.
Awesome video! I like the shoutout for the Everyday. I have the Schwab & vanilla plat (no AF due to military), but when I retire, I've been thinking of my exit strategy. I was going to downgrade the vanilla plat to the green or just cancel out-right, but now I'm thinking I'll downgrade it to the Everyday. I also have the Gold, but I mainly have that for the restaurants. Now I'm wondering if I should just cancel it?
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think you can downgrade the platinum to the everyday since ones a charge card and the others a credit card.
You can't downgrade a charge card to a credit card, so you'd have to downgrade to green which isn't a bad card, or to a Gold which is excellent, even at $250. You can apply for an Everyday card, though, which would preserve your points.
You could just open a blue business plus (no af business card 2x everything) to preserve the points. I think theres a 15k for 3k spend/3months offer around rn

Ben, I fucked up today. I accepted the offer Amex put down to enroll in their Centurion card based on spending with the company card. Fuck I don't have the $10k and I don't know if I can funnel it through my company. How do I survive?
