This video is most relatable to High Network Individuals.
Middle class- pls don't follow the stunts performed above. For upper middle class- you can definitely do but dont get addicted with it. Stay away from spending beyond your limits. Spending extra for a gift card or coupon which you may or may not be able to use doesnt sound great. I found travel related rewards amazing. Anyways, Stay safe😅

I am a newbie to credit cards. My understanding is that even if you get a discount or coupon by using credit cards you will be manipulated to spend more to avail the coupon. It‘s like purchasing something for 10000 rupees to avail the 1000 rupees coupon you have which you would otherwise have bought for 5000 if you had not had the coupon. Just because I am getting a coupon to avail at a 5 star hotel, I would not go to one. At least for me.

    • @ghostrider160492
      @ghostrider160492 ปีที่แล้ว +13

Completely agree. It’s difficult but if you can transfer your cash/ UPI/ Debit card spends (which are inevitable) to Credit card - you are earning a piece of pie on your spend. Not all rewards are in form of coupons encouraging to spend more. Most rewards are in form of points which you can convert into an airline/ hotel credit which you can completely redeem without a need to spend a single penny.

Why do u think Credit Cards work the opposite way? I use credit cards heavily for my regular spends and have done three international trips in last two years where flights and hotels were paid for by Credit Card Points. Every household has a fixed amount of spends (Utilities, Insurance, Mobile, Internet, School Fees, Fuel) regardless or payment mode and discretionary spends. The focus is to earn maximum rewards on those fixed spends using Credit Cards.

one thing credit cards are doing certainy is they make you spend more and if you feel that you're saving money by spending more (which is what this guy is doing) you need to think it through. But as a beginner you can get the cashback cards and turn most of your spends like bill, or any purchases that you can make through credit cards you'll save 1-2% money. But problem with other type of cards is that they'll make you spend more and unnecessarily since you've to redeem those points to make you feel like you've "Saved" some money but you usually end up making other expenses or purchases which you wouldn't have done normally(like cost of fancy dinner, and other purchases which add up fast). So saving or returns of 7-8% is just a myth and not the complete picture if you analyze the scenario properly as you know credit card companies are there to make money not to give.

given 2 option of same thing one you've to pay cash and is cheaper and another available on credit card but bit costly you tend to choose the latter. This is the same theory based on which credit card companies believe in and encouraging people to get credit card.

Neeraj - you got it wrong in multiple videos about Amex Platinum Travel.
Platinum Travel annual fees is 5k, and you need to spend 1.9L to get 15k points and 4L to get additional 25k points and a 10k Taj voucher.
How do you expect a 5L annual salary earner to spend 4L via Credit card?
That’s impossible. Platinum Travel is for someone earning 15-20 Lacs.
Even AMEX MRCC would be a best suited card for someone earning 8-10L rupees.
Only card needed for someone earning 5L per annum (40K per month) - No credit card.
Credit cards put you at a risk of easy/ mindless spending in hope of reward points/ benefits. Someone with this kind of earnings, should just focus on savings and little disciplined investment as much as possible.

If you use X amount and pay back X every month then credit card is good. In a normal salaried lifesytle air travel and hotels (for leisure) are not common.
Sometimes a sale does offer cashback for certain bank CC, that's also helpful to have.
If you can pay the total that is due every month, CC is a boon.
If you start living by paying 'minimum anount due', it's a curse because you pay hefty interest next month on remaining amount and so on.
Also in some medical emergencies CC is useful.
Don't get CC for lounges and avoidable/not-necessity spends. No one will waive your spent limit amout.
Don't see it as a free money, it's on credit. You need to pay it one day anyhow.

Credit cards are beneficial provided you spend wisely. Spend whatever you are spending on, but use credit card as a medium, just to earn rewards.
Ultimate motive should be to earn from your actual spending. Never get greedy for lucrative offers and end up overspending.

To enlighten the other side of the story, I am not sure what worth would a $2500 vacation add to my life. Call it old-school, but this is just showing off life that you can't afford. Reward points and credit is good but making return on expenses doesn't make sense if your expenses aren't in control first.

Sab moh maya h. Basically use any card wisely. Now with social media influence, people tends to spend too much. At the end these spending are converted into emi and thats how these card company earns. With every app comming with their own card tied up with some to save transaction charges. Just keep some cards to buy anything as oer usage. Dont get into trap of rewards point wagarh .

I want to explore benefits but am still not convinced to bring this much cognitive load of thinking what card to use when and what rewards and offers to track. I want a single card that does it all, and a concierge/ai to hunt and personalised rewards for me. This should be a 5mins per month excercise max.

Not really aligned with this philosophy, especially for folks starting out. If you were just making a spend to optimise on credit card benefits, it's not always good. Say you have 10000 points and you are able to get a value of 50000 rs(own cash of 5k for necessary spends) with it(you normally stay at a 10k hotel). In another scenario you get a 10k flight with the 10k points which you have otherwise spent in cash. Which do you feel is a better deal.

I use credit card but I always try not to spend 50% of your salary. So try to spend credit card less or equal to 20 to 30% of your salary.

    • @saurabhkesharwani6143

When you go to an Airport, to travel, first you have to do a Check-In, after entering. Which is basically a reporting that you have arrived, submit your luggage and get your boarding pass.
And under priority check-in you will be given a priority for all this process. Priority over other non-priority passengers. Saving your time and you from crowd.
