Today I returned from a trip to D.C. It was my first time using the Hotel Collection. The specific hotel didn't quite meet my expectation. I typically get a better experience at Hilton's with Diamond Status. Nevertheless, the $200 hotel credit posted to my account within days of the purchase. The $100 dining credit was easy to use. The hotel even presented me with a letter upon checking in that explained all of my benefits and how to use them. Plus, spending time in the Delta Sky Club on the way home was pleasant. I consider cancelling the Platinum from time to time. However, a trip like this where I easily squeezed $325 out of my Platinum card puts everything back into perspective.

Amex has the greatest # of benefits to keep track of than any other issuer I can think of (also, nice Amex limited-edition art card in the background) 😁💯
Another Amex platinum in NYC. The Barclay center had platinum lounge with private entrance. It is a Sky box lounge. All you need is ANY ticket ( buy the cheapest ) go to the AMEX entrance and they will direct you to the sky box...remember it is limited to 50 Platinum AMEX members.
If you don’t enter the corporate card info when you get the personal charge card, you can call and the corporate team will verify your info and add the credit for you after your 2nd statement date. I just experienced this myself.
There are SO many ways to get value from your Amex cards. I think that’s why so many seasoned credit card vets love them. There’s always more to learn! I’ve heard of people getting a ton of use out of the MR point bonus when booking flights with your business charge cards. Although I don’t have any of those at this time, it seems like a pretty dang useful benefit if you travel with them often!! Great video Ben!
Great video. Not a lot of video creators discuss the IAP, which shows how little people actually know about the real reason(s) to get this card. A lot of people approach the annual fee in the wrong way. They think, "oh I can save $189 from Clear credit and $200 via hotels, and then < etc etc>;" which is the incorrect way to approach it. If you fly business like I do, the savings from a single flight can pay for more than the annual fee. My single trip to Asia saved me $1100 on a RT direct flight. No combination of purchasing could beat that price (whether through combined points/dollars, dollars, points on 100% discount, etc). Don't waste your time trying to squeeze every dollar of savings just to "negate" the annual fee.
Could we get an unsponsored video of all of your favorite tools to track and organize your rewards, points, perks, etc. I’m always unsure which card to use! It would be really cool to have a tool like kudos that reminds you of specific perks/rules for each card In your wallet. Also tracking your progress towards sign up bonuses and airline/hotel status tiers. Any suggestions?

AMEX Platinum…time to upgrade perks…too many other competing cards with the same perks at lower prices…gimme Hilton Diamond, access to Southwest Airlines, top tier rental car status, etc…the current perks are getting stale

I did not know about the corporate card annual credit. Need to seriously consider the Blue Cash Preferred now since I already have the Disney+ bundle - that’s an $84 annual credit plus another $50 annual credit on a $95/year card.

For every 1 point you spend you get 35% back so if you spent 1,000 points you would receive 350 back, thus only costing you 650. So 650 points spent for 1,000 in value is 1.54 cpp. Even higher if you can use it on insider fares flights.

On FHR benefit, I think that some properties also offer outsized credits at times, like a bigger food & beverage credit or 3rd or 4th night free.

Is that Math Correct ? Wouldn’t 35% rebate on a point redemption be valued at 1.35 instead of 1.5 ?
