Great video , I’m one of the few people that use the Amex Green and Everyday preferred combo , since I’m gonna start traveling more and going to longer destination I’m strongly considering getting the platinum card plus I got a welcome offer for 125,000 Amex points 😅 that would be eventually my trifecta !
I will come up to my 1-year with the MX Gold personal, I was wondering is there a general amount of spend you would have done for the entire year in order for them to offer you a retention offer? I know some people use it as a workhorse and others sock drawer it or they use it for Netflix or cell phone payment
I don’t know if there’s necessarily a set spending number that Amex is looking. Essentially, you’re looking to convince Amex that the card isn’t worth it and you don’t care if you keep it or cancel it. However, having some active spend on the card is probably recommended.
When you go to talk with Amex, you can use the chat feature and make sure to use language like “when I cancel” instead of “if I cancel”. Make Amex understand that you will actually cancel the card without an offer.

I have the Gold, blue cash preferred, trying to get the platinum but I'm in popup jail and not eligible for the SUB on the platinum
Oh that's to bad. Have you had the Platinum card in the past? Sometimes that's a reason for popup jail.
@@Spend.Earn.Travel. no this will be my first platform card, I’m a new Amex member sense April 23 1st was the gold in April finished the spend on that, I was targeted for the blue cash preferred and I finished that spend earlier this month and now I’m trying to get that platinum
Well that interesting. I guess try again in a few months. Popup Jails can be annoying.
I know this is for AmEx, but does the transfer of points to an authorized user work with Hyatt?
Unfortunately, Hyatt is not a transfer partner of American Express. I wish it was. But Chase is, and the same principle applies! When you go to transfer, you can select which account you would like the points transferred to, yours or one of your authorized users.

If you want to combine Hyatt points you can do that directly with Hyatt. The other person won’t need to be an authorized user.
They would only need to be an authorized user if you are transferring points earned on your Chase Sapphire cards to Hyatt.
If your both authorized users on the WOH card then all the points earned will go into your Hyatt account as that’s the one linked to your card. Hope that helps!
@@Spend.Earn.Travel. If P1 has a Chase Ink Preferred and P2 is an authorized user. And P2 has the Hyatt card/account. Can P1 transfer points from the Chase Ink Preferred to P2’s Hyatt account?
Yes they can! When you go to the transfer points page and select Hyatt. You'll have the option to select which card holder you would like to transfer your points to. And if it's your first time doing it, you'll have to option to setup those users where there specific accounts.
