    THIS is why I love the credit card game. I feel like I say that often these days, but videos like this are what made me get into credit cards in the first place. The ability to make once-in-a-lifetime trips with your family completely funded by credit card points is what it's all about.

    I'm only 2 years into the points and miles game, and I've been able to get some domestic travel pretty much for free. Can't wait to see what the next years might bring for more aspirational travel. Cheers from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

    I'm only one year into the credit card game and already I can say between P1 and P2 it's saved us over $13k in travel on flights and hotels. From Germany, to Spain, to France, to Italy, and even NYC twice.

    Very useful video. I would have loved to see spending over a year and how many points you've accrued through those. The taxes example was great but only one expense. It would really help to understand how much is required to spend to get a realistic reward travel through the cards.

    Great video. But honestly the blue business Plus card is better because it earns 2X Amex points on business spend not just 1.5 on large purchases.
    Even though it's only a half point difference comment that can add up real quick.

      Hi, in general we don't use consumer level affiliate links, i.e. we don't earn points, we use affiliate links that earn us money, and yes we have earned a lot from that and sponsorships, youtube adsense etc... since we do this full time as a job. But this video is just about free travel using points.

    • @RemcoAlexanderPhD
      @RemcoAlexanderPhD ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a logical fallacy to think like this and all TH-camrs seem to make this mistake. You should think in terms of what you would have paid out of pocket for the same trip. I doubt you would normally pay $11,000 to fly across the pond.

    • @TheCreditShifu
      @TheCreditShifu  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RemcoAlexanderPhD i don’t think thats a mistake. We are just showing how much value the points are worth. Its really not that serious of a thing that you have to be so technical about it, and besides, it is fun to talk about

    • @RemcoAlexanderPhD
      @RemcoAlexanderPhD ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheCreditShifu One could also argue that misleading thousands of viewers with unrealistic values IS a serious thing. In the end it's just playing into the hands of the banks, while they throw us some tasty freebies to keep us hooked to their game and have us spend more than we need. Don't get me wrong, I also enjoy playing the credit card game, but I do believe one should stay technical and analytical about it, and I think it would suit you as well if you could be more honest about it.

    • @TheCreditShifu
      @TheCreditShifu  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RemcoAlexanderPhD yeah i know this is common argument that people have “although you got a business class flight, you only would have paid for economy so you can only value it at $1000 when the biz ticket would have been $4000” But I dont agree with it, I want to know how much the flight I am booking would be worth, so i know I am getting good value for my points
