you probably dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend these days :)
I just came across your vid here and wanted to let you know , you did terrific presentation with your step by step procedures and showing all the aspects of completely resolving the issue, that's coming from a 35 year mechanic. You actually made it simpler and easier to follow than the factory seminar. Great Job
Every video leaves this out. The full line at the bottom of the reservoir is the full line. Do no top off coolant over the bottom line on the reservoir. Mine has arrows pointing to the bottom line. There really isn't much to bleeding the system. If you over fill the coolant just a little it's going to run hot and also trap air in the system. Mine ran hot for three years. It's an awesome feeling to get this under control.
Do you think if the head gasket is blown and the car was overheating in less than 5 minutes if we replace the engine will the car be good and not overheat anymore?
My wife has an 2013 Journey R/T. You skipped the one piece I needed to see! The metal cap on the reservoir will only turn about half a turn then stops. I have the sense it should turn more and then come loose. I'm afraid to try to force it and I'm also afraid to try to pull up hard on it. Thoughts? I just want to use a hydrometer to test the coolant/later mix to determine the cold it will handle. For that, I need to be able to stick a tube into the reservoir, catch some coolant/water mix and see what the hydrometer will tell me. I'm hoping I don't need to bleed it just for that simple application but I admit I don't know. Would I even if all I do is test and return a bit of the fluid? Seems like I wouldn't disturb anything in the engine or much even in the reservoir.
If I repeat the process I would have to remove the screw each time? My car has a blown head gasket but I cant afford to fix it so Im trying to get the car to last me as much as possible and I’m changing the coolant reservoir because it is cracked but I am hoping it will be helpful and allow the car to last until I can afford another car.
I have the exact same vehicle, I recently had my radiator replaced at a Dodge dealership. When driving down the road my coolant is only about 140°F but I can sit parked and it goes to above 200°F no problem. Only cools down when driving. What is causing this and how do I fix it? I don’t think it’s the thermostat, because I can watch the coolant temperature while parked and it gets up to 220°F then the thermostat opens and it cools down to 190°F and back up to about 203°F and stays there as long as I’m parked, but as soon as I start driving it slowly drops down to 130°F and stays there until I come to a stop.
I replaced the thermostat and re-added coolant, but never bled the system. I just did thermostat today and drove it around. Is it too late? Can I still bleed the air out?
What if my heat in the 3rd row is still blowing low to medium warm air? Does that mean I have air in the system still? How would I go about bleeding the air out of the system to get the heat as hot as the front? I can barely keep my hand on the front vents for more than 10seconds where as in the 3rd row it’s not blowing hot air like the front?
Well the head gasket is for the oil, so I assume you could rev the engine like that but I bet you are leaking oil, from my experience head blown gasket leaks oil as long as you have oil I think you will be fine
Hello.I would like to inquire about the high temperature of the engine in the summer when operating the air condtioner up to 120c in the country of Iraq the temperature reaches 50c
Please mine is 2.4 2011 journey and I now have a check engine and the car jerks after changing the coolant .Can you also help me to on how to BLEED 2.4 2011 JOURNEY.THANKS
Thank you for this. The coolant reservoir on my car split just below the factory weld I got it off and welded the crack with a soldering iron and used an empty milk jug for rod because they are the same kind of plastic. I'll order a new one from eBay. But I need to drive this load tomorrow. Seems to have worked fine, but I couldn't get the air out of the system. The top hose was empty. I'm from another time and would just roll with a loose cap. No longer possible I see that now thanks to you. I would never have thought of bleeding the heater cores. Know any way to find the code to fix a Volvo tranny with a proprietary code. Only dealers have them. I have a mint wagon that's worth nothing because of this $3000 computer repair. Grr. I hate car companies. My first car was a '54 Mercury LOL
My Dodge Journey leaks all the antifreeze right up in the engine I someone told me it’s a hose is this true!? The antifreeze leaks out in 4 minutes and the. The engine overheates
check out the engine oil cooler / engine oil filter adapter. it's common failure on all 3.6 L chrysler motors from 2011 to 2014 . just replaced mine broke down on the highway and burned oil really badly and coolant sprayed everywhere . it's a very nasty awful repair caused by 5 o rings
It can be the thermostat housing....which is easy to replace on the 3.6 and kind of a bear to replace on the 2.4....it's made of plastic and the mating surface to the engine warps and leaks coolant
@@kykyABCA I just discovered what really causes the damn problem! It turns out that both Ford and Dodge clean the cooling system with sand and didn’t get it completely flushed out before hitting the market. Hence the gaskets failing! It’s a common issue with Ford diesel trucks. Assholes. Never any accountability
Is that very serious if slight bit leakage is happing in transmission pan underneath the Dodge Journey RT 2014 ? Or what could be the reasons behind its little bit leakage ? Leakage is not like dripping oil it’s just a slight leakage on the transmission pan underneath the car ?

How can I bleed cooling system for dodge journey 2.4

Have been doing all my repairs off these videos saved a ton of cash
You guys saved me a lot fixing my journey. Thank you.
Thank you for posting this. Helped me a lot with working on my car
Another GREAT video from @World Mechanics!!! Thank you for this informative video!

I’m going to try this hopefully it helps because it’s just been sitting because I changed about every cooling system part
Worked great! Super easy!
Can't find the water pump replacement video. Did you make one?
I have a 2018 journey se 2.4. Do you know if it has 2 thermostats. I'm puzzled. Thanks in advance

Push down and continue to turn there’s a lock mechanism
Can I use a oil cooler part from Amazon ? Or no ?

How do you replace the fog light bulbs in the bottom of the front bumper?
I had some work done at a dodge dealership and when I got it back the driver side air vent is blocked does not blow air can you help me fix it

most likely an air pocket
Would this be the same as the 2.4 litre jeep engine?

Well the head gasket is for the oil, so I assume you could rev the engine like that but I bet you are leaking oil, from my experience head blown gasket leaks oil as long as you have oil I think you will be fine
First off a blown head gasket can leak coolant into your oil depending on where it is blown. Check your oil to see if it is milky or not
Hi,why is it that original mopar coolant ms12106 colour purple and the one I have in the vehicle is orange 🍊 like yours ??
Can it be mixed
Hey my Dodge Journey ECO light comes on when it feels fits? any ideas?
can you do a video on how to replace the coolant tank.
Super easy. Two 13mm bolts, pull the top hose first, pulle the bolts, it out and pulle the bottom hose 15 minute job. bleeding it out is a BIG problem
@@michaelowen4582 any tips for bleeding it? I replaced the reservoir and the thermostat but I’m dealing with air pocket issues now :(
*Can I put water instead coolant, to see it has some leaking?*
Checking that today!
I have Same Car I Have Evaporation antifreeze coolant water and I refill every 2 days
what is the problem please

Why do I have no heat on passenger side
Blend door. Behind glove box door
how many millimeter the diameter of the radiator hose? i want to change rear hose heater 🙏
Its not the same for 4 cylinder because it has a thermostat housing on other side of engine. At least my 2018 dodge journey 2.4 se
Been 20 minutes and my journey is still purging air from the system
Don't overfill it. The bottom line on coolant tank is the full line.
Freemont has a different place screw different than journey
